Webmethods : A good tool but can improve
What do you like best about the product?
WebMethods is a great service that can allow you to share data between multiple software applications. It comes with a fully designed IDE that gives us access to everything we need to design and develop and complete the job on hand. But every IDE comes with a bit of learning effort. I worked with a team where we were trying to utilize webMethods and overall had a positive experience with webMethods.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the product releases were done in a hurry which resulted in issues to upgrade our projects. This brought in a bit of confusion among the team but all in all everything was good in the end. Would suggest to patiently review the releases and release timelines
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ignoring the price the product, the benefits of the product are awesome. One has to sit and study the tool carefully and once mastered, there is nothing easier and smooth in the world.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of Coding and Ease of use. Available components like MWS makes it easy to track the transactions
What do you dislike about the product?
Designer (debugging in designer). Designer needs to have better options that would make debugging the code a bit easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Flow of the transactions end to end. Using BPM, it is easy to showcase the flow of a transaction and where it is stuck.

What do you like best about the product?
Features, webMethods suite includes all aspects of integration, API management, BPM/BAM, Big Data coupled together. Documentation and support are very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing is very complicating and unclear. Difficult to add licenses later on for additional components without paying "suite" license fee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integration, security, visibility and streamlining of business processes and data flows.

webMethods is a middeware product to allow you to share data between multiple systems/multiple applocations
What do you dislike about the product?
web services and optimize is they made it complex and terracotta for 8.2 is some drawbacks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
its a solutions for data excahangeand . we have done all flows of PO,POA, ASN,Shipments, transports data and Invoice.

Complete functionality, fairly easy to use

Integration server has a proprietary language.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connectivity between systems, and with trading partners
We are not using the tool as much as we should; the minimum we are doing with it is ok.

The product is not used as much as we should use it. We are planning training on the tool to develop new services and to use the suppor tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is very expensive and it does not worth the price. SAG is not open to negociation.

Integration.
Excellent Integration Platform
What do you like best about the product?
If you have EDI integrations in your B2B and supply chain management, Software AG webMethods platform is the best fit. It has built-in database (Trading Network) and rules setup and the only thing left to do is mapping (between EDI data and data of other source / target systems like SAP / Siebel CRM) .
What do you dislike about the product?
webMethods JDBC adapter release has not been updated for years and it doesn't support structure and array. We have to write Java code to deal with this kind of store procedure calls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
EDI Integrations / BPM / Batch Processes are the areas where webMethods technologies applied. Easy to use, rapid development, robust and stable.
Best enterprise software in town
What do you like best about the product?
Have the good features to integrate different components in an enterprise level. Can get itself accustomed to any environment with legacy infrastructure or the latest ones.
What do you dislike about the product?
so far started to dislike My Webmethods server.. this is a feature in the webmethods suite and it is very frustrating
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Talking to legacy integration's and systems is being solved. So far we have reaped connectivity benefits which we had hard time fixing .

Begin by identifying what is required by your organisation and start choosing which integration's or enterprise software work

Features of webmethods product such as API Management, Big memory, IS, MWS, Messaging layer(UM).

Management talks about licensing cost is to high and they always look for new products with better cost

With upgrades, we are adopting new security features like TLS 1.2, OAuth. JSON helped with mobile integrations
