Made the switch and never went back
What do you like best about the product?
High quality recording quality for both audio & video.
Makes it very easy for my guests as they don't have to install anything, they just show up on the link (similar to a zoom meeting).

What do you dislike about the product?
Riverside's new editing features using AI have SO much potential. I have been using Descript for transcription based editing for years and I'm hoping as Riverside continues to improve their new editing features, I'll be able to make a full switch over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reliable recording solution for remote interviews. Since the recordings are done locally on each person's computer, I've never had an issue with losing any files if the guest loses connection or if there's poor wifi strength - the results still come out amazing each time!
I love Riverside! It is so easy to use!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the sharing capability. the sound quality if very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything. I am able to figure most things out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My Podcast. It is very easy to use.
Great recording (and editing) experience with helpful new features being added constantly
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside nails the table stakes of this type of platform: local recording, availability of compressed and uncompressed files of individual tracks, and streaming backup (if something local goes wrong). But, it also makes it very easy to spin up captioned video snippets of the show for use in promotion across multiple platforms—from the auto-detecting "Magic Clips" (big timesaver) to the ability to adjust the aspect ratio of the video and even do some layout adjustments to do things like add the show's logo right into the generated snippet.
What do you dislike about the product?
There can occasionally be glitches with getting the audio and video working for a guest. To be clear, this is rare, and it's a small miracle that that is the case! We've never had a case where we haven't been able to get this working with a little fiddling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside.fm is the foundation of how we generate raw content for our podcast. Having been producing the bi-weekly show for just under 9 years, we've gone through multiple platforms. Our switch to Riverside.fm, when we did, was driven by the platforms ability to handle more than 4 total participants. But, since we've switched, we realized it also opened up our ability to move into something we'd wanted to do for a long time but had not done because of the time required: producing short video clips of the show.
An incredible resource for podcast hosts
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside.fm provides an incredible resource for me, ensuring incredible quality video and audio recordings for both me and my podcast guests. Where Zoom only ensures the quality of my audio and video, Riverside.fm allows me to guarantee that every one of my guests will also look and sound great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although I love the editing option within Riverside.fm, I wish it was more robust and allowed for me to zoom in and delete things at a micro level to allow for an even better listening experience for my followers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside.fm is allowing me to put together a podcast where I host interviews with other authors, resulting in clear, quality audio and video.
Easiest and Best Podcast Recording Site
What do you like best about the product?
It is just so easy. Like you can just start your account and start recording! We were able to easily start our podcast, SUAVEPOD. Nothing stopped us from making it and putting it out. Sooooooo easy!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! I will say we do have an editor who edits for us, so I can't speak to the editing ease, but recording is soooo simple and easy! No dislikes over here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us both record the audio AND video for our podcast. We don't need any other equipment for both facets and that is just fantastic! Makes posting long-form video and short form podcast clips so easy.
The software I've needed
What do you like best about the product?
It's intuitive, with minimal need for reading a guide or watching a video. Working with very non-technical people, they've managed to successfully join a studio and be recorded, something which makes my job so much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little nervewracking at ensuring I receive the high-res videos from my participants, especially those who are very non-technical and on poor internet connections. I'll be happier when I've seen all the high res recordings!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to record video interviews for later broadcast. If the user is on a poor internet connection, Zoom makes them look and sound like they are on the moon. I am trying to record as if I am in the room with the participants, to offer my audience the best possible experience.
Makes Podcasting a Breeze
What do you like best about the product?
This platform is so intuitive, I simply logged in and started recording straight away (I didn't even test record haha). Everything worked perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I love how high quality the recordings (voice and video) are when I export.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside allows me to both export my audio for my podcast, AND export video and audio for short clips for social media. It's all on one place.
Riverside speeds up production 8x
What do you like best about the product?
We use Riverside for podcast production. The ability to (1) standardize our process for remote interviews, (2) capture the highest possible quality on both ends of the conversation, and (3) streamline the editing process has sped up our own production 8x since starting with Riverside.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price jump to a business account is jarring, and prevented us from starting at the level that we would have liked. Also, it's not uncommon for small technical issues related to syncing to crop up. In this case, you're forced to do a little extra editing work in order to get the highest quality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside is meeting the need of content creators to turn content around quickly. Much of the production process is tedious and time consuming, and Riverside has responded by standardizing and streamlining the process.
Great for what it is
What do you like best about the product?
I love that everything is all in the same place. I don't need to have several files everywhere and put them together. Everything is organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the video quality still has a long way to go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping everything together in one place. Making sure the sound sounds good from all parties.
Unmatched Video Quality
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite aspect of Riverside.fm is the video quality and the simplicity with which it delivers all the isolated streams of video.
That was the main reason I started using Riverside and that's what keeps me using it.

What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside for me is that it only runs in the chrome browser on my mac. I normally use safari, so that gets a little irritating.
The other big complaint I have is that Riverside opens so many browser tabs when navigating through the interface. This drives me nuts.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Capturing high quaility video in multiple streams is a huge value to me. I haven't been able to find any other platform that makes it as easy to accomplish. It really allows us to record podcasts with guests remotely without sacrificing quality.
