A great platform for virtually recording podcasts
What do you like best about the product?
We’ve been using Riverside at our podcast production company for more than two years. Catering to corporate clients as we do, it is critical that every podcast episode we produce sounds and looks professional and polished, and Riverside’s suite of tools is the best solution we’ve found to accomplish that.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say there's anything I really dislike about the platform. On the rare occasions when we've had some kind of issue, Riverside's support team has been prompt to jump in with a fix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you work with stakeholders across time zones as we do, it can be difficult to curate a podcast interview that sounds like it was recorded in a studio. Riverside's progressive recording process eliminates the "roboticized" glitch effect of low-bandwidth internet by recording locally on users' PCs, caching their files and uploading them as bandwidth allows.
Riverside is exactly what I was looking for to publish my podcast and create micro-content from it.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to record and edit my video podcast, and then easily create clips is what's most helpful for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had a feature that would automatically detect segments or something like that powered by AI to help me find and make clips faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster content production.
Great for recording videos
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside is great for any type of video recording - podcasts, youtube videos, etc. It provides such a high quality video and I love that I can separate out the screen recording vs. video vs. audio into separate tracks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't used it for any live streaming, but that is something I've heard it isn't the best at - but we don't need much of that at this time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides higher quality video which helps with testimonials, customer stories, youtube recordings, etc.
A very average platform that is overrated
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is clean, easy to understand and easy to use. It is a good piece of software for what it is meant to do - record in-sync podcats and video recordings with minimal hassle and fuss for the host and guest.
What do you dislike about the product?
There seems to be a major issue with syncing the audio and video. It didn't work with a test I did but what is worse is it failed miserably when I did a live recording with a podcast guest which was very embarrassing. Although the audio files are of excellent quality, they are not in sync with the video which is the whole point of getting a Riverside subscription - the ability to get high-quality audio and video in stereo and HD.
Secondly, the quality of the video was appalling, and I figured I could have used Zoom to record at this rate. When I wrote to customer service, they got back to me saying the situation could not be remedied and gave me a refund for the month and I was then billed for the service the next month without even using it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If the platform works the way it is meant to, it is an excellent solution but for what it does right now, I believe solutions like Streamyard and even Iris offer better solutions in the market.
All in wonder. Million dollar studio in the palm of my hand.
What do you like best about the product?
UPDATE: We left seeking greener pastures, and ended up coming right back. Riverside is undeniably the best in its class.
As a podcaster and producer, Riverside helps take the technical complexities out of working with other hosts and guests. I can monitor everyone's connections and both audio and video quality on-the-fly! It lets me get back to the main job of focusing on the content.

What do you dislike about the product?
Zapier integration would be a valuable feature. Especially with the impending AI innovations coming, and the new/revised Riverside features with improved transcription, transport to services like Descript, and the ability to create clips/markers in a session. Zapier would come in very useful to distribute elements of our recorded sessions to other platforms/service bureaus for additional editing, processing, or publication.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My level of stress about clean audio tracks from various sources is nearly gone! Knowing that Riverside is recording studio-quality audio and video gives me great comfort.
I hardly can hear and see a guest during live session
What do you like best about the product?
When export the video, you could choose different formats - it's useful
What do you dislike about the product?
Very bad video and audio quality during the live session. I was not able to hear my guest
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I could not use it for my podcast :(
Best buying experience ever!
What do you like best about the product?
We run a large podcast network, and Riverside's enterprise offerings are incredible. This is going to make my hosts job easier and fits right in to my production teams workflow. The time savings alone is worth the price.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have yet to run into a downside. Will edit this review if/when that happens.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing a large, geographical disperced podcast network
Recording pre-game and post-game podcasts.
What do you like best about the product?
Great all-in-one solution for recording podcasts. Peace of mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have had some video recording issues but they were fixed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are making sure encoding of video is seamess.
Remote recording made easy!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to upload into the cloud and automatically remove video from the presenter's computer is priceless. My team frequently works with company executives and allows them to "walk away" from the recording session without having to locate the video and delete it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not a fan of the black background on all the Riverside screens. It would be nice to have a few background colors to choose from that could be personalized by the user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside is easy to use. . .provides quick access to recorded material. . .and is more efficient than using a screen capture program.
Riverside is the Industry Leader
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside makes remote recording incredibly simple and intuitive. Podcast hosts and producers can easily schedule, record, and produce their podcasts in Riverside without a lot of heavy lifting. The audio and and video look and sound great, and Riverside is always adding powerful new features.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to dislike. Whenever we have any issues, which is rare, Riverside is quick to respond and provide solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have podcast hosts and producers scattered across the country. Riverside makes the podcast production workflow simple and smooth, no matter where the host, guest, or producer is located. It also allows us to easily share the worklaod among multiple team members
