A huge improvement in our support documentation and training.
What do you like best about the product?
It is my job to build crystalline guides for our users and training videos for new hires. Riverside’s screen capture has been the waggingest dog I’ve used for that. The quality is consistently sharp even when I’m recording a fast-paced workflow or our software at small text size. The key feature is the local recording - I don’t care if our corporate Wi-Fi is acting up, the recording is always perfect. What I also love is it records isolated tracks for my face and voice, and my screen as well. This is what makes a mistake very easy to repair. Even when I stumble over something (say an idea or a phrase), I can re-record that particular piece of the audio and not have to remake an entire screen capture.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish the built-in editor had some basic annotation tools, such as arrows or boxes, to draw attention to various parts of the screen. Right now I have to download the video and then add those in another program, an extra step. The long, high resolution captures are also pretty hefty in terms of file sizes, so we have to be careful with our local storage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to Riverside, producing a support video was a headache. I tried a few other screen recorders, and the quality was crap, files corrupt or the sound lagged. This wasted hours of my time. Now I can make a nice clean video on something that is a repetitive technical issue and everybody gets the same clear visual instructions. That's cut down on duplicate support tickets over those subjects a great deal. New IT staff members can watch these videos to learn more quickly. It has made my department more efficient and has enhanced our help resources’ clarity.
Riverside.fm Is One Of The Best Business Investments I've Ever Made!
What do you like best about the product?
The robust feature set, ease of use, and value for their price point. Apart from recording audio and video at very high quality, the editing and AI capabilites are absolutely incredible, saving me HOURS of time in post! The automatic generation of social media clips is next level! And they keep adding new features that make it even BETTER! Just this week they released podcast hosting for paid plans, something I didn't even know was on their roadmap!
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI/UX takes a bit of getting used to, and I didn't find it to be as intuitive as I would have liked. Once you learn your way around, however, it's awesome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes audio/video content production easier than any other tool I've used, and I've tried just about everything on the market. Descript is pretty great, but I think Riverside is the best tool out there. It makes editing an absolute breeze!
Made our small business podcast editing easy and effective
What do you like best about the product?
I run a small business, so I do all of our marketing, which naturally includes our listener podcast. I was nervous that the editing thing would be very technical, but Riverside has made it feel a bit more accessible. It’s the separation into distinct, high-quality audio files for each individual that is its killer feature. Which means if a delivery truck rumbles past on the outside while I’m speaking, I can simply remove that section from my track, without affecting my guest’s audio at all. The sound is always professional and clear and gives our business the feel of a more established company then an small one working out of an apartment. Given the price, this price, we are amazed with the quality.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is a big audio file, so sometimes it takes a minute to upload and process after we finish recording, and I’ve learned not to schedule an editing session too close to the time we finish. The included audio enhancing tool is nice, but I’ve found it’s best used subtly rather than to correct for a truly terrible mic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside totally eliminated the need for me to pay an outside contractor, who works freelance, and for whom I pay on a monthly basis, as an audio editor on our podcast. Now I can record, guest and edit (be it basic editing) an episode in a couple of hours and get on with releasing it. The professional sound quality has built trust with our prospective customers and has been an inexpensive way for us to demonstrate our expertise without an expensive production budget. It has evolved to be the central part of our content strategy.
Easy to use, many pros, few cons
What do you like best about the product?
Easy-to-use interface for quick podcast edits. This program is great for beginners or those with limited time. You cannot edit with precision as with other software programs, but for the low cost this is solid podcast editing software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could organize my projects myself and I would like the capability to edit with precision. I would also like more musical options and to remove the Riverside logo when I use stock footage or videos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside helps me edit podcast episodes in minimal time and is very easy to use.
A must for distance-podcasting!
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside makes it so easy to get two friends together from far away, and connect for recording of a podcast that was thought but on the whim! Implementing the software was one of the simplest things we could have done! We literally use it multiple times a week, even if we're not recording the pod that night, it's great to have planning sessions and share your screen and ideas come to life! The ability to auto-generate short form media is revolutionary!
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside to Riverside is the lack of integration to edit on Safari. Being an avid AppleOS user, the disconnect there hurts my OCD.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside has solved a number of challenges for me as a podcaster and network builder. Before using the platform, I constantly struggled with audio dropouts, compressed sound, and lag when recording remotely. Now, I get studio-quality recordings every time, even if someone’s internet connection is less than perfect. The ability to capture separate audio and video tracks for each guest has cut my editing time dramatically and eliminated the sync issues that used to slow me down. It’s also made the guest experience so much smoother—no special downloads, just a quick link and they’re ready to record. Beyond the technical side, Riverside has given me the professional-quality output I need to make my shows sponsor-ready and scalable, which is essential as I grow Disgruntled Network into a full media brand.
Riverside is a great podcasting platform to record on!
What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple it is to use. Riverside is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the dark feature on riverside. I really like clean and fresh feelings to work platforms!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is allowing me to record my audio podcast.
Seamless Tool for High-Quality Tech Demos
What do you like best about the product?
I've loved using Riverside as a software engineer (bold, italic, strikethrough, link, list, quote, code,…) and it feels so easy to use even for remote hires, when we want to pull people in to record with us remotely, after a 30 second tutorial (editor review job board). It was easy to use — I had it up and running in 15 minutes and injected it easily into my Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro X workflow for post production editing. Customer service has been responsive! The wealth of features — such as AI-based clipping and separate audio tracks — distinguishes it, and as a bonus, my 4K files should integrate nicely into my editing workflow with little compatibility worries.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only minor downside I encountered has been that the transcriptions are not quite as accurate with tech jargon (though a manual review and adjustment is still quicker than me doing the whole thing myself).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside helps me solve the problem of creating professional looking video remotely, which is necessary for me when working through code with distributed teams. By doing all the heavy-lifting of high-fidelity capture (and easy export to my favourite editors), it’s freed up around 40% of the time I was spending tortuously flipping between contexts, so I can focus more on code, and less on production fixes, which is great news for my productivity in sharing what I know with my followers via tech tutorials.
Riverside.fm Takes the Stress Out of Remote Recording
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using Riverside.fm for recording and I have to say, it really delivers on what it promises. The biggest win for me is the local recording. Even if someone’s internet glitches during the call, the final recording is crystal clear because everything is captured on each person’s device. That takes away the usual stress of "will this sound okay?"
The interface is clean and simple. I don’t need to waste time clicking around or setting up complicated software - just send a link, and we’re rolling. Guests who aren’t tech-savvy can still join without me walking them through a 10-step process.
Video quality is solid, too. Being able to pull 4K recordings makes editing easier and more professional. The separate audio and video tracks are a lifesaver when it comes to cleaning things up afterward.
Overall, Riverside.fm feels like it was built for creators who care about both quality and ease of use. It cuts out the usual recording headaches and gives me professional-grade files without extra hassle.

What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to nitpick, the editing features built into the platform are fine for quick fixes, but I still prefer taking the files into my own editor for full control. Also, uploads can take a little while depending on the guest’s connection, but that’s just the tradeoff for getting high-quality local files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside takes the stress out of remote recording. Even if a guest’s WiFi drops, I still get crystal-clear audio and video. It’s easy for anyone to join, and the separate tracks save me a ton of time editing. The end result looks and sounds professional without the usual headaches.
Riverside Increasing My Productivity
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use, the flexibility and the way I can send invitations out to my guest and schedule them in advance and have it integrate with my gmail. I like that I can record at 4k and download the footage as such. The benefit of having AI tools to assist with noise cancellation and also AI generating specific shots that are good.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest I don't like that the subscription is so expensive and the fact that if you want to go live and stream in higher resolution the price gets extremely high. As a creator I am sure you guys already know that there is a lot that goes into this craft of putting out content especially and a higher quality. Although you guys provide it the price has me reconsidering whether I want to continue or explore other platforms.
Also that app needs a bit of work since I can't open up the calendar feature of the desktop app version.
Also that app needs a bit of work since I can't open up the calendar feature of the desktop app version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its allowing me to increase productivity as I've set out the call to start doing batch recordings both virtually and in person and the flexibility to do both is huge. Also in having conversations with my guests I love the ability to do a screen share and even share the audio so we can view it together and go through what we're watching on the spot.
