Smooth recording and ease of editing!

  • July 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the recording quality and how smooth and easy it is to use. Riverside saves me roughly 5 hours a week in editing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a better way to manually add my bumpers instead of downloading to add into a different app.
The editing is way too tiny and non intuitive or user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Editing time and reel creation

Nearly everything you need to create audio and video podcasts!

What do you like best about the product?
I have tried just about every podcast recording solution out there, and Riverside comes out on top. The service is stable and easily handles multiple guests. Included tools include multitrack mixing, audio processing, pause reduction, filler-word removal, visual and text-based editing, and transcription services. This is truly the all-in-one package you need for creating professional-sounding audio and visually appealing video. I use Riverside weekly for the three podcasts I host and produce. It was easy to implement and continues to integrate seamlessly into my workflow. Customer support is readily available and helpful. Way to go, Riverside! Your service helps me stay productive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to schedule more than three podcasts at a time for each of my shows since I book guests well into the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside keeps me organized, efficient, and productive.

Very impressed so far!

What do you like best about the product?
I recently moved from Descript (absolutely filled with bugs) and thus far, this platform has really impressed me! The ability to record locally in up to 4k resolution along with the ability to livestream at the same time is a gamechanger that is not available anywhere else. Also, the AI automatically using pre-set show preferences to cut your show together for you as well as finding clips is an incredibly feature that saves TONS of time! Couple this with the fact that you have show notes, keywords, and chapters already found in your edit and this software cannot be beat.
What do you dislike about the product?
The editor still has a way to go. It feels a bit clunky and un-intuitive. Not having the ability to apply scene transitions (other than fade in/out at the very front and back of your recording) is a MUCH needed feature to help with polish. Also, the size limitations for livestream files is a pretty nasty hindrance that limits the ability to play video and trailers that would be a much welcome addition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves me the headache of having one platform to record remote guests and another for livestreaming with them. This is HUGE and it offers a ton of flexibility. Also, already having AI cut magic episodes and clips that are ready to go is amazing.

Easy to use, perfect for beginners

What do you like best about the product?
I'm new to podcasts and don't have fancy equipment or a producer yet. This has helped me get out the first episodes and really streamlined the process as I build a following.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some lag in the video. You have to edit manually, don't trust the AI editor fully.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No professional equipment

Makes producing and editing podcasts a breeze

  • July 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've used Riverside to record, edit, produce, and distribute 25 podcasts now in the last year for work. It makes video and audio editing so easy. And the customer success/support team is always quick to respond with any issues that arise, be it through chat or email for more detailed issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was going to say that sometimes the audio quality isn't great because of where podcast guests are (lesser WiFi, etc.), but stumbled across "Magic Audio" just last week when editing a podcast and that helped significantly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps in all aspects of recording and producing a podcast, as well as easy creation of the social clips to promote the podcast. The transcript editing feature also comes in handy to make sure the transcript is 100% correct before it's uploaded to YouTube and used in drafting blog posts and other collateral from the podcast.

Quick Response to Technical Issue

  • July 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Editing is really good. Their tech support team was wonderful. They were quick to respond and were able to fix my issue regarding using the second camera on my Android phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have lost connection with remote guest a few times. I do not know if this is a issue on my end or is this an issue with Riverside
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like I said, I had an issue with the second camera option not showing up on my Android phone and they are able to fix it quickly.

This is about as easy as it gets to record a podcast

  • July 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Riverside is easy for me to access, easy for my guests to access, and easy for me to download files for my podcast producer when I am complete. The separate audio and video tracks are very helpful, leaving us room to remove issues when they arrive. Being able to put notes in the transcript feature is also a plus. I record at least twice a month on the platform and it has served me well. Most importantly, I find the quality of the output to be excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could blur my background in the basic version. I know you can with an upgrade, but that is a feature that should be available at the entry level. It used to feel like we had a wait a bit too long for the files to upload at the end, but that seems to be resolved. It is almost instantaneous now. Sometimes I try to access from the desktop application and it gets finicky. I end up using the link instead. My concern is making sure we don't drop the recording, but that hasn't been an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Riverside makes it super easy to record an audio and video version of my podcast. I simply send the link to my guest and we're off to the races.

What do you like best about the product?
Perfect for podcasting! I really like the pro features too!
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to stack video and audio in editing could have more potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me record podcasts and edit the videos all in one place!

Feature-Rich but Unreliable and Buggy

  • July 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Riverside makes it really easy to record, edit, and draft copy for final show publishing. I also love that I my Riverside Studio has a dedicated URL, so I'm able to send recording links to my studio guests without having to manually pull unique links.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Riverside has a ton of fantastic and incredibly helpful features, I'm afraid it has been incredibly unreliable over my past year of use. The time I've saved with their amazing editing tools and copywriting has been overridden by time spent troubleshooting and fixing things. (Not sure if their R&D team just doesn't exist, or is too busy developing new features without smoothing out existing? This signals too-rapid business growth, so they need to slow down a beat to take inventory.) I have had issues where I go to edit or export tracks, and I'm simply unable to. Imagine spending time recording or editing your episodes then trying to get them to the next stage, and suddenly there's an error! More frustratingly, the software is unclear about the errors, so either A. nothing will happen when it's supposed to, or B. a random error message will appear without further context, so you have no idea how to fix it. It's also impossible to find where all of my uploads live, so I don't know where that media is, and there is no way to better organize it. It is difficult to get a hold of a human through their AI chatbot. And, when I am able to get a hold of a human, it's a 50/50 chance that they will actually fix the problem in a timely manner. When I've asked for partial refunds to at least compensate for a fraction of the time that I've spent having to fix their buggy issues, they just point back to their terms of service, which to me shows that they cannot guarantee their product. Customer support has been lackluster overall. Initial setup of Riverside could have been smoother. There are technical specs that needed to be set up, and there was very little guidance on how to do that. So, I made a lot of mistakes that could have been prevented with simple UI info markers. Because Riverside is so unreliable and buggy, I'm afraid to move my show hosting onto Riverside, even though Riverside has that capability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Riverside to capture video and audio for my podcast and edit the show. It helps with editing, creating transcripts, chapters, show summaries, and generating episode keywords.
