I'm not sure what you want in the title field. We like the product and find it easy to use.
What do you like best about the product?
Setup was easy. We spent some time limiting sample size to cut down on the cost but other than that it was straightforward. We get a good high-level view of our performance and the ability to dig in for a closer look.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no particular dislikes. I'm adding characters because the UI on this survey is annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We cyclically spend time chasing down performance issues, using Scout to identify problem areas, hone in on the particular problems, and track the improvements we make.
Simple installation, powerful results
What do you like best about the product?
Installation is really simple and they support a variety of languages.
What do you dislike about the product?
While scout is able to break out some things from a generic HTTP connection there are a few things still missing. For example Scout is able to determine what is Elasticsearch HTTP connections, but it cannot determine what is Cassandra HTTP connections and break that latency out. Granted this is more of a nice to have than a hard requirement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking down latency and N+1 queries
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need something simple to setup but incredibly powerful Scout is for you
Scout APM is great to auto collect performance metrics without any instrumentation
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity to use in Rails applications. We didn't make any changes to our codebase and the tool was capable of get detailed metrics and show in a clear way. In a microsservice architecture like ours, helps a lot with requests info and background jobs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I had a specific case where half of the time spent on the request was not categorized and show as AutoInstrument. This don't happens often but it's hard to debug without any kind of information of where to look.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have some applications that are very sensible to performance and we need to constantly check for any issue. It helped us a lot to be more direct on what to do and where to focus.
Scout APM Review
What do you like best about the product?
The ability at a glance to get all the info needed on the dashboard. Also having memory characteristics per request/transaction is something unique. I don't believe New Relic has this.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing turned us away when we started getting an increase in the number of our background jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Memory utilization and long running foreground and background requests.
Great for monitoring performance and deploys
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to see the graph of performance over time and being able to compare different time periods. This allows me to monitor the performance of a certain page/request before and after deploying changed.
I also really like the N+1 queries callouts to help me notice and fix performance bottlenecks.
I also really like the N+1 queries callouts to help me notice and fix performance bottlenecks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the traces aren't the most detailed and don't tell me the SQL or line causing an issue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Scout APM to help monitor throughput and diagnose performance bottlenecks
Was able to easily find some completely unexpected n+1 queries
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, connection, no bullshit approach
What do you dislike about the product?
I do get a lot of automated emails so I unsubscribed from them
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Decreasing hosting cost and improving cloud performance
Great tool in time of need
What do you like best about the product?
The memory allocation graphs showing APIs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Instrumentation feature takes a bit of server usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The memory optimisation of all APIs. Where we are also able to analyse slow queries as well as heavy queries.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For any rails or python app you can consider scout APM since it's easy to use and always helpful.
Quick and efficient solution for Laravel monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
Scout APM is very easy to set up for Laravel apps. The UI is straightforward and efficient. I liked that I didn't have to go through many steps to get performance insights about my apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing makes it unaffordable for small apps or starter projects which do not generate enough revenue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Scout APM to identify n+1 queries in my app. It allowed me to focus my refactoring efforts towards the methods that were most frequently called, hence making more visible improvements to my users.
A complete APM to spot any issues in your app
What do you like best about the product?
Very handy dashboard, helps you spot anomalies quickly like a bigger response time or crazy N+1 queries. Setup is really quick and easy, it integrates nicely with PHP/Laravel. The dashboard are intuitive, the customer success team will organise a chat to take you through everything and answer your questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The memory tracking isn't available in our current setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had noticed a few slow pages on our website without being sure of what was causing it, thanks to ScoutAPM we realised we had a lot of N+1 and some controller code was actually heavy. It made us being aware of anomalies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have no visibility over how your app is performing you should really consider setting up ScoutAPM to see what's really going on and start decreasing your response time.
Great support and improvements suggestions that make our lives easier
What do you like best about the product?
The support team is awesome, always available to help. Not only the team helps a lot, but the tool is amazing, the suggestions to fix n+1 and slow queries save us a lot of time while tuning our app. We can easily spot bottlenecks and view backtraces indicating where to fix.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not able to filter endpoints by most requested paths. That would be useful to see the most usage and slowness, which is where we focus our effort. That is not a big issue, since we know where the high traffic is, but it's a nice to have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
thanks to scout our app is 35%+ faster compared from last quarter.
