Great for finance teams
What do you like best about the product?
Virtual tagging feature allows for building very robust cost attribution logic and consequently financial reporting. Makes tracking key cost metrics very easy. Implementation was relatively quick, at least for the standardized cost centers (AWS, GCP, etc.). Support team is very responsive and competent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Allocation of shared cost centers features are not quite there yet, although are on the roadmap. I'd also like to see more flexibilities in the visualizations (calculated columns, more types of charts, etc.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing timely and detailed information for engineering on what they're spending money on and tracking costs for financial reporting.

Finout is really easy and intuitive to use
What do you dislike about the product?
The hardest part about moving to Finout is the work needed to migrate from an existing tool (as would be the case with any tool), but this burden is made much easier with the help of the team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Showing each team within the business how much they are spending on cloud vendors, allowing them to easily explore which components of their applications are costing the most

I found Finout particularly useful for its detailed insights and straightforward approach to cloud cost management. The platform's Virtual Tags and MegaBill dashboard simplified the process of tracking and allocating cloud resources, making it easier to manage our infrastructure costs effectively. What stood out to me was the anomaly detection feature, which promptly highlighted unusual spending patterns, allowing for quick intervention. Honestly, nothing. The platform really delivers on its promises.

Visibility into our cost spend, and helping us both limit spikes in spends, but also negotiate better deals that suit our usage patterns better.

The process for handling cost incidents needs enhancement.

Finout is our main cloud cost management tool. We use it daily to monitor and optimize our cloud spend.

What do you like best about the product?
I can easily track the costs of my team and see where I can have leverage cost reduction in an instant.

Not much, it's difficult to have an outstanding UI when you work in large organizations. but I find it easy to use

Finout's reporting interface is far superior to other products on the market. It provides more flexibility and configuration options to display data clearly, helping us identify cost drivers and find inefficiencies.
The Finout support team is responsive and knowledgeable. They are quick to answer questions and investigate issues. I've reported a bug and seen it fixed within hours.
The Finout platform also provides superb data granularity and metadata to filter and group costs. The Virtual Tag feature is particularly powerful, enabling cost allocation based on much more than just tagging at the source.

Finout is an evolving product, so it should be expected that some newer features will be less polished. Finout's cost recommendation engine is rudimentary at this point, and somewhat behind other offerings in the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finout has greatly enhanced our ability to allocate costs by customer, team, solution, etc. We now have a better picture of the drivers of our cloud costs, which we use to inform our priorities for architecture improvements.
Very good tool to track tech expenses
What do you like best about the product?
The overview panel is well-designed. It helps you understand how your week/month/year of tech expenditure will look like. We had no issue setting it up in our company.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is very detailed and offers many choices for customisation. All of the options available might be a bit 😦 at first but the documentation helped us here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking the expenses of all of our cloud infrastructure. We have hundreds of microservices hosted on various AWS infrastructures. Having an overview of the costs of all those microservices was an obligation for us.

Doen't prompt before session timeout, it causes loss of work

We were facing a problem of making cloud cost visible to engineering teams. As we have extended access to Finout to Development teams they started using Finout Dashboard feature to understand cloud cost of their components and services.
