As a devops I am using Finout to track infrastructure cost.
What do you like best about the product?
What is nice about Finout is the aggreagation of multiple cost centers. In our case we are using:
- AWS
- Kubernetes
- GCP
Alo being able to filter out the cost per different "group" is very helpfull via the Megabill.
Documentation is clear as well

What do you dislike about the product?
At some point we struggled with user access. Even if there is RBAC with some predefined roles, these roles did not fit our need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having the merge of all our Cost centers and the virtual tags helps us a lot to logically group our projects without having to update Cloud tags

FinOut provides good insights to our FinOps team
What do you like best about the product?
We like the ease of intergration of multi-cloud cost break up feature in Finout.
Also kubernetes support is really great in FInOut.
Slicing and dicing of Finout helps us to attrbiute cost to our itnernal teams.
It helps teams to track down their cost and improve the cost optmization techniques.
The platform is quite easy to use, provides user fiendly UI.
Our frequency of use is on daily basis, to drill down into our cloud bills.
Customer support is really good via slack. We get quick response to our queries on slack channels we have.

One of the downsides of Finout can be short credentials time. It logout very frequently.
We can provide more session duration to logged in users.
It can also proivde us cost optimization techniques, how to save costs etc.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finout helps us to find cost attrbution, slicing and dicing of costs as per our internal teams.
It helps our FinOps team to find where the cost is increasing/descreasing on regular basis.
Reports and Dashboard feature is also nice, especially the custom reports.

Easy integration with AWS and kubernetes.

Mechanism to send a updated forecast bill for this month every day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to provide cloud cost per team which finout is really solving for us.

Easy to use for wider/casual audience but needs a lot of maintenance + testing from Finops team
What do you like best about the product?
1. User friendly UI - The user interface, especially the Megabill landing page, is simple, inviting and pleasant for users across our company, increasing the frequency of use.
2. Ease of use - The UI simplicity combined with easy to use features (filter + groupby), and easily understandable grouped label data (especially maintained & customized Virtual Tags) make it very easy for wider audience / casual users to easily find the specific costs they are looking for.
3. As the internal Finops administrator, good working relationship with Finout customer support team and their proactive approach helps me manage the tool better.
4. Overall, saves a lot of time and effort for "quickly look up xyz costs" type regular cost questions across our company.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. BUGS - I (admin) find regular bugs in Finout. I also regularly get bugs reported by the wider audience in the company. Though Finout support team are engage and work on the bugs once reported, frequent bugs damage the confidence of wider audience in the validity of costs data showing up in Finout. Overall, better data integration and thorough testing for data validity against the GCP Billing dataset by Finout product/engineering team would really help reduce the bugs showing up when we use Finout, and will really improve the experience considerable.
2. Feature requests - Over the course of using Finout for a year, our team has suggested a lot of improvements to existing features and also new feature requests. Finout has already implemented a lot of these requests (which we like), but still a lot more improvements can be made to existing features to improve user experience.

Cost insights made easy!
What do you like best about the product?
FinOut is a tool that anyone can use. It is super easy to set up and you can immediately start pulling insights out of the data. One major benefit over other solutions is pulling together multiple sources of data such as GCP, GKE, and Datadog. It helps to visualise the entire landscape of costs, rather than individual pieces. The FinOut team are really invested in their customers success and keep open channels of communication.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is designed to be simple to use, which can be a limitation when you want to move into more advanced usecases. It can be difficult to unify different data sources at scale (it is possible via APIs, but not easily manageable out of the box).

FinOut enables us to make our cloud costs accessible for anyone in the organisation. This builds accountability and ownership, and helps us to proactively reduce unecessary costs.

The tool is, for the most part, easy to understand and use.
The customer support and helpfulness of all staff is also a huge bonus. I feel the team always listens to us and tries to help us.

There have been a number of bugs, old and new, which can leave us less than confident in the data.

Clear visibility of cost drivers and giving teams ownership of their costs.
Allows us to focus on more impactful cost saving measures, but also spot when something is going wrong and fix it.

Great for finance teams
What do you like best about the product?
Virtual tagging feature allows for building very robust cost attribution logic and consequently financial reporting. Makes tracking key cost metrics very easy. Implementation was relatively quick, at least for the standardized cost centers (AWS, GCP, etc.). Support team is very responsive and competent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Allocation of shared cost centers features are not quite there yet, although are on the roadmap. I'd also like to see more flexibilities in the visualizations (calculated columns, more types of charts, etc.)

Providing timely and detailed information for engineering on what they're spending money on and tracking costs for financial reporting.

The hardest part about moving to Finout is the work needed to migrate from an existing tool (as would be the case with any tool), but this burden is made much easier with the help of the team.

Showing each team within the business how much they are spending on cloud vendors, allowing them to easily explore which components of their applications are costing the most

It’s quite difficult to say what we don’t like since we haven’t been using Finout for so long, but I can highlight what’s missing and we’re looking forward to your new releases:

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finout helped us begin implementing FinOps practices; the first significant thing was that we were able to divide our costs among responsibility centers. Made it very easy for our financial team to control payment transactions, in particular for third services.
