Visual and Integrative, but Needs Better Documentation

  • December 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the visual aspect and data integration of Tableau. The visualization really helps in being able to see the data as pictures, which is super helpful. The data integration feature, especially with platforms like Excel, makes it straightforward to work with existing data. The initial setup was pretty easy, and I just had to get the licenses.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the instructions on how to use it could be improved. Perhaps some sort of documentation that explains the baby steps and enhanced features would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau to solve business problems by understanding what video game genre will be popular in the next decade.

I really like the excellent customer service of Tableau. The data visualization is the best feature for me. I also found the initial setup to be very easy and comfortable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the app home page. It has glitches and problems that need fixing. Specifically, while searching, the space bar is sometimes not applicable, and words misprint.

Intuitive Visualization, Smooth Data Handling, Steep Learning Curve

  • December 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Tableau mainly for data visualization and analysis; it helps me turn raw data into useful insights. It solves issues like converting raw data into understandable, clear data that even non-tech folks can grasp easily and handles large datasets. Tableau makes it easy to create dashboards with a variety of charts, graphs, filters, and maps. I also value how clean and professional the dashboards look. The initial setup didn't take much time, and connecting to SQL and Excel was guided, which helped with getting started.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the large learning curve for advanced features a bit challenging. Also, the performance can lag with large datasets, and the licensing and pricing can be limitations. Although I rated it 9/10, I would have given it a 10/10 if not for these issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau for data visualization and analysis. It converts raw data into clear, understandable insights for both tech and non-tech people. It handles large datasets efficiently.

Transforms Complex Data into Insights Effortlessly

  • December 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how Tableau easily turns complex data into intuitive, interactive visualizations without requiring heavy coding. The drag-and-drop interface is great, as it allows flexibility in exploring data from multiple sources. I enjoy its strong performance when working with large datasets and its seamless integration with a wide range of data sources. The initial setup was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Tableau is very powerful, there are a few areas that could be improved. Advanced calculations and custom logic can sometimes feel unintuitive and require workarounds. Tableau could offer a step-by-step calculation evaluator, similar to a debugger, where users can see intermediate results of complex calculated fields. Clearer error messages (e.g., showing which part of a nested calculation failed) would reduce trial-and-error, especially with LOD expressions and table calculations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau for data visualization, transforming datasets into interactive dashboards. It simplifies understanding large datasets, uncovering trends, patterns, and anomalies. Using it with VS Code enhances my workflow, optimizing data prep and visualization phases.

The initial setup was very easy; I just needed to take the enterprise version.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such

Intuitive Visualization, but Costly for Small Teams

  • December 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Tableau's drag and drop interface because it makes the tool accessible even if you aren't a coder and allows for rapid prototyping, letting you build a chart in seconds to see if an idea works before committing to a full report. I also appreciate the powerful data connector that helps eliminate data silos, and the interactive dashboard which enhances my data visualization and dashboard projects. The initial setup was straightforward, and I also integrate Tableau with Microsoft Teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
High licensing costs and the pricing structure isn't ideal for small teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau for data visualization, solving scattered data, manual reporting, and complex data interpretation. The drag and drop interface is accessible and allows rapid prototyping. It also eliminates data silos with its powerful data connector.

Powerful Visualizations, Minor Cost Hurdles

  • December 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Tableau for its ease of use and powerful data visualization capabilities. I can create insightful, interactive dashboards with minimal effort, even with large and complex datasets. The drag-and-drop interface makes analysis intuitive. I appreciate Tableau's ability to create highly interactive and dynamic dashboards, and it performs excellently when handling large volumes of data. Its strong support for multiple data sources and easy integration is another plus. I also admire the clear and visually appealing charts that assist in data storytelling. Additionally, I can quickly iterate and explore ideas without the need for heavy coding. Tableau strikes a great balance between power, flexibility, and usability, making it an ideal tool for both analysts and business users.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Tableau is a powerful tool, there are a few areas where it could be improved: high licensing cost, which can be a challenge for individuals and small teams; limited advanced data preparation features compared to dedicated ETL tools; steep learning curve for advanced calculations, parameters, and LOD expressions; performance issues can occur with very large or poorly optimized datasets; limited customization for very specific visual or UI requirements; version compatibility issues between Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud; exporting dashboards to static formats like PDF or PowerPoint can feel restrictive.
