In fact, great for accumulating information from various resources
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau helped us move from arbitrary spreadsheet reports to consolidated dashboards that are pleasant to consider and also very easy to interpret. The user interface is attractive and also simple to navigate. Once all the data sources are attached, it will be very easy to produce an entirely new layout if you understand exactly how to evaluate your own information. Virtually all the assimilations we needed were included in the moment.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to develop some extra complex reports. If you want to combine two various information resources in one view, you will need some innovative skills. You need a training system, it is not a plug and also for use, you need to have some experience and training to use it. It's still okay
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are well integrated with the product's associated environment, just as Tableau is well integrated with the other tools we use. It provided the most effective balance of attributes, maturity and value for our needs. We exchanged our basic Excel reports because they were not great, they were difficult to update and they also did not consist of many useful details on each screen.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It has been great as a device for making any type of report, really easy to use genuine, and if you think of a record it is probably already suggested and also made by Tableau. That resembles a data source that recognizes you, and also immediately, getting ideas for what you might need regarding records, is really fantastic and genuine.
Engaging and adaptable work for best practices
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is a software for both creative people that need a platform to engage with and non-creative people who need guidance to make their ideas come to life. I love the ability to create dashboards that allow users to interact with the data and view it according to their needs. This is a positive and a negative, but Tableau is a lot of trial and error. There are lots of different ways to accomplish the same goals. Sometimes that is nice because you can find exactly what works for you and your organization. Other times if you do not know exactly the best way to accomplish something you can get lost trying to do the problem-solving.
What do you dislike about the product?
The graphs are not always easily customized. Tableau does not allow your colors to have patterns. Sometimes when sticking to a color scheme, patterns are helpful for filling in graphs. Other software allow you to change each individual piece of the graph and drag and drop individual pieces (data labels, legends, axis titles, etc.) in ways that. It is a small piece of the work, but it can pose challenges. Another challenge is layering the graphs. Layering graphs leaves the hover function in tooltip covered up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My work is visualizing large data sets to be presentable to our audiences. We are allowing different areas of an institution to filter the data to look at just their department or just area of interest in terms of equity and diversity factors. Tableau has been helpful to show multiple sets of data (that would normally be put in a table) all in one place. The hover function in tooltip really cleans up the graphic by not having to label every individual piece of the graph. We also use the tooltip with the shape tool so that we have an "information icon" that contains all of the footnotes to our data in the tooltip.

Good Reporting Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It provides clean easy to use reports that look professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit clunky to use in that you can not do drill down analysis as readily as I have see with other reporting tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Big picture reporting is a brilliant feature of this product so we can look at things at a glance to see how performance is trending.
Excellent Reporting Tool for creating very Advanced and User Friendly dashboards
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau Desktop provides a complete solution for any kind of user developing reports, graphs and dashboards since it is a very intuitive tool and very easy to use. Basically, 80% of effort of development is just point and click and if you need to increase performance or create specifics businesses rules, you will need some basic technical knowledge. You can create dashboards relatively fast and with a good performance when updating it's data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau Desktop client may run slow depending on your computer settings. When you need to create complex business rules for data presentation that can be very tricky since you will need to create many nested settings to achieve desired results. Tableau allows user to apply simple data transformation rules but it doesn't really provide a module to develop very complex ETL processes, it is recommended to have the data prepared before loading into Tableau.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau Desktop allows users to develop pretty much any kind of reporting needs in a fast way. You can refresh data and publish data over Tableau Online Server easily and make your report be public. You can spend most of your time focusing in business rules than technical issues working with tool.
Great data visualization tool but short of in-memory database
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau provides a very enriched set of tools to build data visualizations very quickly. Easy to create calculations and add parameters to data
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau misses an ETL layer that enables to pick and choose the fields you would like to import from a data set for mapping purposes. Also, there is no access to underlying script that could give higher level of control for developers
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau is an intuitive BI tool that is helping me with analysis of complex data and automation of operational reports. It is easy to use and navigate through visualizations for end users and connects to a wide range of data sources.
Tableau - holy grain for visualisations
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about tableau is that it is so easy to learn and simple visualisations can be made by dragging dimensions and fact data to rows and columns.
Apart from this, Tableau has a lot of internal resources which are available to understand the concepts easily.

What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of times ‘show me’ feature can be misleading. It doesn’t always give you the best ideas for the data available. Compared to Qlikview, there isn’t a data modelling option available to completely transform the data as per your needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently doing a project on stock price predictions by unsupervised detections of candlestick patterns. I visualise the stock patterns as per my model in Tableau and it also helps me to forecast the data accurately. Also, the license is a bit expensive for startup organisations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a really good tool for beginners to learn and for advanced people to explore. The Tableau community is very strong so if there are any questions, you can go there asking for help. As a visualisation tool, its really good but the most important aspect is having a business understanding and then developing the data viz.
Tableau Desktop is an excellent visualization tool
What do you like best about the product?
I have become satisfied customer of Tableau, it has provided us ease to deal with our supply chain related tasks. Because supply chain itself is very demanding and time consuming activity in terms of finding the right source of supply across the world and then planning for order delivery is more hectic. Not only this but we faced great trouble in managing the receipt and tracking of data was also a complicated and time consuming tasks. But now it keeps much value because it is doing everything effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a very expensive tool for all setups. I think its pricing policy could be revised so that it will become a universal platform. Along with this after we installed this application, we really faced some issues in its fast operation. I think a good internet connection is its key source of operation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am capable of managing my complex factors and in real time. Tableau is helping me in optimizing inventory, streamlining transportation, and in managing the delivery time period. Now our team has the better idea advanced modeling and forecasting, which provides visual aspect and insight view of whole process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will recommend this tool. On the basis of its key features, which will help me to add to my business value, I can better collaborate with my sales and purchase department. I can also get much benefits from its mobile application.
Powerful and Easy to use.

Tableau is a data visualization tool which help us to give quick insights of large amount of data and gives you back interactive graphs, maps and others according to your need.
Easy to use : Tableau is easy to use and it is basically using drag and drop functionalities, which is easy to perform operations, with the help of drag and drop functionalities user can easily create a visualization in a minutes.
Handle Large amount of Data : Tableau can handle millions of rows of data with ease. You can easily process large amount of data and by making a visualization you can easily figure out the pattern in data. Different types of visualization can be created with a large amount of data without impacting the performance of the dashboards. Also, there is an option in Tableau where the user can make "live connection" to different data sources like sql etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
This is the biggest issue with tableau. It's very expensive product to scale across a large organization. Compared to other BI tools. If you registered with Tableau they will provide you tableau public free of cost but Tableau public has some limitations . You can use it for personal practice or learning.

Recently , I have completed a project on COVID19 spread in the India. With the help of these graphs user can easily see the spread of corona in India. You can check it on my linkedin account : https://www.linkedin.com/in/falah-anwar-khan-553176167/.

Good for Data Storage and Visualization
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about tableau is the sheer volume of data it can store and visualize. I can look at data for a company of 50,000+, or I can check metrics for a single employee.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau is not as simple as other tools to manipulate. Filtering data in particular requires a lot of specialized knowledge about table building.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Tableau for deep diving customer service metrics for many years. It helps create a centralized repository for many different KPIs and business metrics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are willing to spend the time tweaking with the filtering, this is a great tool for visualizing and manipulate large sets of data.
Great way to visualize your data.
What do you like best about the product?
Out of the box Tableau Desktop can produce visuals that give valuable insights to your data that would otherwise not be obvious from just looking at the raw data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is a little intimidating at first, and may not be instantly intuitive to a new user. The pricing model is a little high, especially for a smaller operation. You'll also feel a little nickel-and-dimed, For instance, you can purchase a Creator license, but if you want to share your dashboards on Tableau Online, you'll have to purchase Viewer or Explorer licenses. I also don't like that the minimum number of Viewer licenses you can purchase is 100, which is WAY overkill for an organization our size. It ended up being cheaper to buy the minimum 5-seat Explorer license instead. Would suggest offering packages for smaller organizations. Also the Sales team could be a bit more responsive. It took about 3 weeks to straighten out an issue we had with the license I purchased being put on the wrong account, and setting up invoicing terms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We recently added a bobtail driver and were looking to rezone our deliveries. Being able to plot all delivery points on a map and color-code the dots by driver helped us to visualize where they were all delivering and where it made sense to make changes. It also uncovered data anomalies (like a billing address mistakenly entered as a delivery address) that we wouldn't have necessarily caught without the obvious outlier on the map visualization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Where their online support leaves off, the user community picks up pretty well. I haven't had an issue or a how-to I couldn't solve pretty quick with some Googling. Also, take some time and watch the videos and sign up for the live training webinars. The live webinars, especially are helpful because you'll see exactly how to use the software to solve an actual problem.
