Flexible product making big data easy to analyse
What do you like best about the product?
Easy visualisations out of the box and good connectivity to external datasouces
What do you dislike about the product?
Large datasets take some time to render and calculate meaning some manipulation it required. Tableaus inbuilt data blending Is a mess and nearly always causes issues in a workbook, or fails.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quicker insights and ability for stakeholders to digest information easily. Dashboard building is quick and easy, and coupled with tableau server, the team have been able to revolutionise data sharing and insights across the business.

Tableau server is a great enterprise solution for sharing reports and dashboards across the organization with self service capability
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the basic tabular views which sometimes are very useful for analyzing the details need to be enhanced

We are building multiple Tableau dashboards and reports around operational metrics to capture daily, weekly and monthly performance trends

its ease of use, integration of data, easy to make charts and someone doesnt need to be technical to use it

I would chose power bi over tableau just because power bi is easier to use than tableau. Nothing to dislike about it

Instaling the software was a tough one for me

make sure you have java installed in your laptop and take a course or two before you dig in
Awesome tool for visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is very easy to use and options to connect to different data sources. It also provides options to publicly distribute the dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau has a very high pricing when compared to Power BI Desktop version which is open source. Tableau desktop version is available for only a 15-day free trial which makes it difficult for consultants who want to learn how to use Tableau.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Tableau Desktop to build a dashboard for the Leadership team. The dashboard provided the leadership team with a high level view of the yearly KPI's. The ability to drill down from Country down to a district level made it even better to use.
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
I love the layout of the website. Everything has a tab for certain things and very easy to understand and use. It is also very pleasing to the eye
What do you dislike about the product?
Managers can change the layout of the website and it is problematic since you are custom to one set up and then the next is different. But they can always change it back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So far no problems, and the benefits are very organized, it is like twitter on the web. Some of the benefits are the tabs on each section.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is good to keep organization like for a job that deals with a lot of students or work load and want to organized it by lists. Also, if you want a layout that is pleasing to the eye then this is the product for you.
Extremely intuitive and works well when Excel fails
What do you like best about the product?
Have been working on this tool since the last ~18 months I have joined ISB for Analytics course. This is a great tool to learn specifically to slice-and-dice data to perform Exploratory Data Analysis and understand different nuances of data. This works really well and the best feature you can add up to 6 dimensions of data on the same graph and still make it easy and intuitive to understand. Dashboards and story feature really are a differentiator and helps you to create powerful presentations which sometimes is a big differentiator. Also, the fact that it can data much bigger than what Excel can take to process and conduct analysis differentiates it. Haven't use Power BI, hence can't compare but this tool does its job pretty well. It doesn't have a steep learning curve as well as you'd find abundant videos on YouTube and dozen other educational resources if you want to create a particular analysis on it, hence overall love the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular to be honest, for my usage it has served the purpose. Haven't used it as a cloud solution so can't really comment about that aspect of usage as well in comparison to competitor product such as Power BI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Perform EDA on Data and create powerful visualizations. It really works in that aspect and works handy in creating dashboards and stories which are a key differentiator in explaining difficult concepts easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For high volume data, this tool is very intuitive and would save your Business Analysts a lot of time and can help you optimize a lot of tasks.

Calculations and parameters can sometimes be hard to workaround. Would definitely be easier if they have another option.
Dates aren't the easiest to work with.

Bringing the data in front of the stakeholders to create a usable format that is easily digestible and usable.
Also trying to analyze metrics and trends that we are seeing in the industry that we work in is easier now than using a spreadsheet

With a Varied functionality and abilities on the cloud and in desktop mode, it's easy to implement analytics and visualization software that could be really helpful to harness the power of data and give you useful insights. Dashboards and reports are a breeze to build out and share across the organization along with securing the data with persmissions

What do you like best about the product?
I like how many different ways you can plot data and the ease at which you can analyze and compare data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how you cannot pull data from multiple spreadsheets at a time without overlapping the data and I also think the software is not the most intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to identify the methods for producing the best quality biotherapeutics. Tableau helps sift through data quickly and identify important samples.

Have someone who has already used Tableau help you when starting to use the software.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the product is user friendly and provides great graphics relatively quickly. There are lots of videos to watch online to gain skills to utilize in the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t like the learning curve for the product, unless you watch videos or have an experienced user demonstrate, the content can be confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I created graphics to visualize the results of surveys, internal database data and making graphics with location based data.

I would recommend it especially for showing data based results in a user friendly way.
