Review of Tableau
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is very smooth and look the look of desktop software
What do you dislike about the product?
Not fast as powerbi and it takes a while to load the files compared to powerbi
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For us, we use tableau to clean the data and use the powequery to manual code the commands
Tableau is a mature business intelligence tool, but lags in developer experience
What do you like best about the product?
Building visualizations is straightforward once you get past the initial learning curve. There are flexible deployment options to fit the needs of your organization (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid). There are several connectors available to connect to data sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau Desktop is clunky and lacks the snappy user experience one would expect from modern SaaS apps. Signing in can often be a pain. Documentation can often be sparse. Overall, there are a lot of friction points in the development experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau enables business intelligence and analytics for the organization by serving dashboards and data sources to end users. End users are able to interactively and intuitively query dashboards without needing to be technical in SQL or any other programming languages.

What do you like best about the product?
Can be very easily accessible and easy to understand. More importantly very graphic to any readers.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my experience, there is nothing I dislike about Tableau.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me analyze the downfall of the business and I was able to locate that easily, thanks to Tableau.

Decline in quality and support since Salesforce acquisition: Users have reported a decline in the quality of Tableau's products and support since it was acquired by Salesforce.

Allowing charting of trends with numerous metrics using multiple data sources including cloud based services

Its user-friendly interface and robust features make it ideal for both beginners and advanced users, facilitating insightful data analysis and decision-making. Incredible versatility in using the software

It is extremely expensive and often has performance issues

Creating versatile, dynamic tools that can be customized to reach different stakeholders of varying data expertise
Beautiful data visualizations
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau creates absolutely beautiful data visualizations. There are so many options for customization. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to use. It's easy to download or share visualizations and to customize them for the proper view (mobile, desktop, etc.). I love the different color themes you can include and that you can upload more features such as personalized shapes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be steep - I've really only wet my feet with Tableau and I know I could utilize it better. However, I doubt this is unique to Tableau. It takes time to learn how to perfect creating complex data visualizations.
There are not easy ways to use imperfect data sheets. I often found myself needing to reorganize how my csv data sheets were presented to make them easier to use in Tableau.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau allows me to explore my data in better visualizations than any other platform. I can create clear reports that are easy to digest. No more wasting time trying to understand complex graphs. Tableau gives me the opportunity to simplify and focus on the most important data.

1. You can build interactive dashboards easily
2. Has great flexibility. You can customize pretty much everything
3. Has almost all the necessary functions required the build the visualization of your choice. If a few functions or things are missing there are always alternatives that you can consider to achieve your task

1. It takes a lot of time to load when the dataset is large
2. All the preprocessing of the data (data cleaning) has to be done beforehand. Data cleaning cannot be done in Tableau

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Data Anlaysis: finding the discrepancies or insights in data becomes easier when we do a visualization. Doing the same in table format would take a lot of time
2. Interactive dashboards: explaining the insights to the clients has become easier. With Tableau you can create powerful visualization in very less time

What do you dislike about the product?
May be the cost, it's a bit expensive when compared to Power BI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work as a security analyst so performing analysis on heavy data sets is key for me, tableau makes that analysis very easy
Easy to use but hard to convey to business.

Calculated fields are the most helpful because it allows me to do calculations as needed when connecting with other databases.

There is not enough documentation about tableau and breadth of information is not available online or otherwise accessible.
