What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility of visualizations, complex user permissions including row-based security, simple cloud hosting option, lots of supported data-sources, tableau prep provides good data cleaning and organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau prep cannot be scheduled, steep learning curve for new users, no good interface for creating calculations, cannot create user-defined functions, sometimes difficult to determine what needs to be done to create the view you’re looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Live-updating reports, visualizations connected directly to data source, bypassing the need for exporting to excel.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the clean way the data can be visualized and it can be shared easily with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the data manipulation it takes and it does not plug directly into SAS. You have to stage the work somewhere else and then pull it in or export it to excel. This can be time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to visualize data across several different strategy areas to make it easier for executives to have access to view real time data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize Google for answers as there is not enough wide use of the product yet to streamline learning for most business areas.

What do you like best about the product?
Salesforce Sales Analytics is a tool that allows easy tracking of all the opportunities of several different clients, including stages and decision makers. On the other hand, the tool helps to track connections of several clients. In addition, it allows to know the opportunities and to know when it is in the sales cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Salesforce Sales Analytics is a tool that has such a large number of options that it can be overwhelming at first and offer a lot of information difficult to assimilate. Despite this, the continuous use of the tool makes this situation better and much easier. Finally, it is worth highlighting how complicated it is to customize the tool to the specific needs of the client. Sometimes their large number of options can end up being a handicap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to Salesforce Sales Analytics you can make projects prioritizing the workload in a much easier and easier way. On the other hand, thanks to this tool we can evaluate the opportunities that arise to convert these potential customers into orders.

Salesforce Sales Analytics is a great tool that allows us to amplify the number of orders that our company can make, maximizing the success of the company and increasing the benefits of each period. On the other hand, it is necessary to have a sales team well trained in the knowledge and use of the tool to be able to squeeze all its potential.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be thoughtful about the number of licenses required, given frequency or infrequency of use of the software (e.g., not all individuals require a license). Also be careful to consider Tableau in context of other data visualization tools that are less expensive but also less sophisticated in terms of the capabilities offered for end users - other tools may provide the required basic functionality for lower cost. Oftentimes, graphs and charts within Microsoft PowerPoint may suffice if advanced data analysis is not required.
Provide training sessions to front-line employees to be able to perform basic functionality for select use cases (e.g., including map-style visualizations by geography). Deliver user guides that walk through commonly performed tasks within the Tableau interface.

The Application Is Very Good But The Constant Updates For Desktop Version Are Annoying
What do you like best about the product?
I knew this service from the academic field and then I was able to transfer it to the workplace. Excellent tool for data capture, processing and visualization. The application of statistical models on the data that is displayed is very useful and this is not complicated. What hooked me with this service was undoubtedly the combination of very pleasant and interactive graphical visualizations along with the application of advanced statistical models in some cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
As I mentioned before, the use of this service in the desktop version is annoying due to the constant updates that lead to reinstall the application. If they could give support with updates on the same downloaded version it would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tasks that may have involved days and even weeks I solved them in a very short period of time thanks to Tableau. Information that was housed in a database, which was to explore, order and apply statistical models for analysis, which could be complex to do involving different software, was easy to do using Tableau exclusively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please, do not make it necessary to update the monthly version of the desktop in order to publish the boards online. It is tedious and annoying. I understand that this is what your business is all about, but if they do it more bearable, it would be great.
Great software for reports and visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is very easy to use and connect to multiple data sources. I was able to connect it to various MSSQL databases and quickly build reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Tableau is powerful to use, it has many great features that aren't very intuitive and need to take a class or watch online tutorials to get the hang of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau replaces reports that we previously created in Excel. It's much more powerful and can create dashboards very easily.
Great way to scale your insights, some good and some bad
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to drag-and-drop to create visuals was great, ability to iterate/change a chart was very simple, drilldowns through "Actions" was very cool once you learned it
What do you dislike about the product?
Cant edit a query for a Published data-source which makes it less flexible than I needed it to be, tough to get formatting the way you want it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to scale the ability to get slicable healthcare data insights into the hands of our Customer Success org. As a result, we leaned on Tableau Desktop for the creation/curation of data and charts, then published our findings to Tableau Server (the online version) so that our end users could leverage what we built... Benefits realized are that we built a scalable, sliceable, auto-updating, dataset and visuals that end-users can leverage instead of our team having to manually curate for each ask then manually update each month/quarter
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Tableau has a great User Community so definitely leverage them and their resources as you get familiar with the product... PowerBI is stronger with the Microsoft suite obviously, so keep that in mind if Microsoft-integration its truly a necessary requirement with your BI software.
Great and effective software
What do you like best about the product?
The comprehensiveness of the AI software when it comes to customer relations. The advanced technology allows us to be able to better predict the actions of our customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest con is that it is expensive. Thus with higher costs I would not recommend it for a smaller business unless you have large revenue/profit margins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It saves a lot of time because we now upload data directly into the system and whatever data we want to extract or records we want to analyze can be easily viewed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It can even be used on mobile devices! However just be aware that not all features are supported on phones yet as it is a relatively new software, but it should be soon.
Fantastic visualization software
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau has brought my department and our website into the 21st century. Making interactive dashboards and graphs has made a huge difference to the quality of our website and quality of our internal documents and presentations. Tableau does take some time to learn, but the capabilities of this program go way above and beyond anything else I have ever used. If there is a function you would like to do that is not supported with the point-and-click features of the program, you can write your own script, which is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau is expensive, and the vendors will definitely continue to try to push more paid products, such as Tableau server. If you are able to properly mask identifiers out from your data, Tableau Desktop + Tableau Public are great. It does have a bit of a learning curve, but they offer plenty of support tutorials.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Tableau for online dashboards. Using interactive features, we are able to cut down on a lot of employee work time because folks who need data from us can now go to the website and filter on the dashboards without ever needing to have access to the individual-level data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to train on it initially. It will make the process so much easier. The time spent will pay off!
