Great platform for your analytics needs but comes with its own challenges
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent platform to host dashboard, provides access controls, permissions and groups. Ability to set up emails and everything is really easy. Large number of dashboards can be managed easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the platform can cause real trouble. Setting up extract refreshes and making sure each refresh works correctly can be painful. One refresh here and there and it disturbs the entire process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Tableau Server to set up a central BI team to manage all the dashboards and analytics. We were able to achieve this pretty well in the initial days. However, as the data size increased there were some optimization issues on refreshing data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Work on optimising the data flows and extract refreshes right from the beginning.
Analytics made easy, aesthetic and efficient
What do you like best about the product?
It is super intuitive to use and to make different graphs. It also gives you an intuitive and assertive suggestion of what chart to use. It uses a great aesthetic, and the color palettes are perfect for making your analysis look better. Last but not least, you can connect to multiple data sources
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it suddenly closes the program, but it might be due to the computer's performance. However, in most cases, it makes a recovery copy. Also it logs out from the server and when i have user filters, i need to log in again
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualizations and letting others understand the insights behind data in a very efficient and aesthetic way. Also it allows me to let others access to analysis by publishing my dashboards in tableau online
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool to do analytics and show data. You'll need to consider the subscription price and if you want to share your work, the viewers license for others to get access to dashboards
Has quirks but it works
What do you like best about the product?
Once you know what you're doing and understand its quirks, it's a very powerful tool. Sometimes you have to do "hacky" type stuff to make something work (like to be able to put bar charts inside your table), but the fact that you're able to manipulate the software to do this is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
This isn't overly intuitive software to use. A lot of times, when you want to adjust a column or row in the table you're creating, it's quite cumbersome and not easy to navigate to be able to do this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am visualizing the data for end-users. I do like that we can provide definitions of the measures via tooltips and reference materials for our end-users. It's nice to keep things consistent
Very good BI tool especially when we talk about maps
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy Tableau is to use, and its maps' beautiful and dynamic. We really like the integrations with Google Spreadsheets, Google BigQuery, MySQL, among others.
What do you dislike about the product?
We sometimes have difficulty transforming data using Tableau Prep. We prefer to do this using an intermediate python script outside of Tableau. They could improve on that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We create internal dashboards for our team, also create products for B2C and B2B. We like that the dashboards look very lovely, and through Tableau Online, every team person can access and apply filters.
Tableau review
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to query the data using sql operations and join multiple tables and visualize the same. It also offers dynamic functions in terms of selection and filtering, which comes quite handy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The amount of support provided by the tool in upgrading an individual to an expert level is minimum. I would appreciate it if ways were ensured wherein a user could explore the tool to the best potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Taking impactful decisions for business by interpreting data forecasts, saves time in analyzing data and preparing reports on day to day basis
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use this for creating advanced reports, scheduling them on a regular basis and tracking real time data by using connectors
Supply chain

Sometimes it could be hard to create the charts since it had too many options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To predict stock level.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes I would recommend it.

Compared to other tools, it's far ahead and giving new updates. Very smooth UI.

Management is using to visualizer the daily productivity of team.
Just OK tool for Data Visualization
What do you like best about the product?
I like the aesthetic appeal that Tableau has. The color scheme is really good. I also like the ability to switch between different data sources without any major hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance wise Tableau is not as good as its competitors. Also it is not as developer friendly as other data biz tools. I do not like the way Tableau stores and processes data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Tableau to help stakeholders understand QoQ and YoY trend for different set of KPIs. This helps stakeholders to understand any discrepancy that they may observe in the data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your organization is already using Tableau then you may continue using it otherwise there are better options in the market. Tableau should make an attempt to store data in columnar form similar to PowerBI.

Tableau - Best Reporting and Dashboarding Software
What do you like best about the product?
User-friendliness, as I tell in my many other reviews, is the most essesntial user requirement should have in any software to run.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of now, I can say nothing. But the per-user cost of the software could be a little low.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All reporting-related user requirements, like creating dashboards, applying region/geography-based filters, and creating and applying conditional login credentials.
