I use Tableau for data visualization, tracking key metrics, and gaining actionable insights through interactive dashboards, which makes data analysis simple and impactful. Tableau's standout feature for me is its simplicity combined with powerful analytics. The drag-and-drop functionality makes it very intuitive and saves a lot of time for building charts and dashboards without writing complex code. Interactive dashboards add a lot of value because they allow users to filter, drill down, and explore data in real-time, which helps uncover deeper insights. The wide range of visualization options makes it easier to choose the most effective way to present data. I also enjoy how easily Tableau integrates with different data sources and how smoothly it handles large datasets. Its interactive dashboards and sharing options make collaboration simple and efficient. Tableau's flexibility in visualization options, smoother dashboards, and better performance when working with complex datasets were key reasons our team switched to it from other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area of improvement is the learning curve associated with advanced calculations and dashboard optimization. Handling extremely large data sets can sometimes impact performance. Better built-in optimization tools and simple explanations for advanced features would make Tableau even more user-friendly. Improvements like better automatic query optimization, faster dashboard loading times, and more transparent performance monitoring tools would greatly enhance the experience. Finally, better version control and collaboration features within the platform would be helpful when multiple users are working on the same dashboard.

I find Tableau easy to use, especially with its drag and drop functionality, which simplifies designing dashboards with pie charts, histograms, line charts, and heat maps. The tool excels in directly connecting with multiple data sources, making it a top-tier reporting tool. I've been able to connect multiple data sources, integrate data into workbooks, and consolidate these into comprehensive dashboards. The initial setup was very smooth, and after some initial training, it became very easy to work on. I also appreciate how Tableau has automated multiple views, reducing dependency on Excel.

Powerful Analytics with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I use Tableau for user analytics, observing my customers' usage data and other analytics like custom reports for data analysis to make product decisions. It has comprehensive data analytics tools that help me easily visualize data and make informed decisions, as well as export the data to Excel or images. The smart user management with great user-based access control makes it easy for different personas to use reports. I like the advanced charts that help in complex data analysis. The editor mode lets us preview the analysis before publishing, and the data models help with most of the SQL crunching and data aspects, making it easy to analyze and prepare data models. I appreciate the time-saving aspect and ease of use with the drag-and-drop editor, which reduces TAT for analytics teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The aspect ratio of the charts in different screens is not adjusted correctly, so what's built on one screen fitting well doesn't look nice on smaller screens and different resolution screens. The charts have to be adjusted again to fit the screen sizes of the stakeholders. An auto-adjustment of these dashboards with respect to the screen sizes would help. Also, we have to manually run data models for our dashboards, and auto-run comes on higher plans, which makes us dedicate a resource to run these. In case of missing it, it results in no updating of the data. The initial setup of Tableau is of medium complexity and requires some knowledge of setting up database connections and securely accessing data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau for user analytics and custom reports. It provides comprehensive data analytics tools, visualizing data effortlessly to make informed decisions. The drag-and-drop editor saves time for analytics teams.

What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of templates are paid. There should be some provision so that it can be used for personal use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau for dashboard creation to visualize data, which helps us monitor CPU usage and reroute work efficiently.
Intuitive Visualizations, But Needs Better Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the UI is pretty easy and very simple. I find it very helpful that Tableau automatically suggests different types of visualizations, which I think is the best feature. The region-specific visualizations, like the world map, are also nice and make the tool more interesting for me. The automatic suggestions for visualizations based on sales or spend volumes are particularly useful because they simplify creating reports and dashboards. This automatic feature helps me a lot by making the process easier, especially when I have to analyze spend volumes by supplier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Oh, Tableau Desktop is a bit slow. That's what I feel. The integration with Microsoft apps could be improved. When I use Power BI, it's simple to launch through Teams or embed into my Excel apps, but that's not the case with Tableau. So if we can focus on a better integration, that will be very nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau helps me collect and collate data from Excel and ERP solutions, making it easy to create reports and dashboards. Its visualization suggestions simplify analyzing sales and spend volumes, automatically summarizing data, which makes my life easier.
