Consistent UI and Reliable Performance
What do you like best about the product?
I like the consistent user interface of Deltek Costpoint, which I find easy to navigate after more than 15 years of daily use. The capabilities are rolled out in an understandable manner, making me more comfortable in using it. I am looking forward to working more efficiently with Dela, which seems to enhance my workflow when appropriate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, the information is a bit dated, but I can usually get a more up-to-date content using other BI or databases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Deltek Costpoint to identify opportunities, qualify them, and get general contractor info. The consistent user interface makes me comfortable.
User-Friendly, All-in-One Efficiency with a Helpful Helpdesk
What do you like best about the product?
User Friendly, Customer Support is very helpful and easy to work with. Costpoint is efficient and contains everything needed in one system for project accounting, payroll, production, manufacturing, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times when updates are completed that features that worked very well have been changed in the update and those features do not work well after the update. It is very frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Org security issues, and View Transaction History Report, as well as data is missing in our system after the last major update.
Easier Timecard Approvals and Hour Logging Than Our Previous Tools
What do you like best about the product?
So I mainly use to log my own hours and then approve the timecards of my direct reports. It is easier to use for approval of direct reports timecards than previous tools used.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not as easy to find charge codes in the tree of available charge codes as the previous tool the company made use of. I also find it cumbersome to navigate through the manage/approve timecard portion as far as using the refinement tools to try and find older records or a specific direct reports info.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I only use for reporting my hours and signing my direct reports timecards right now.
Easy to Use, But Purchase Order Issues Need Faster Support
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it’s easy to use compared with other platforms I’ve used.
What do you dislike about the product?
For the past two weeks, I’ve been having issues creating a purchase order and editing the child lines, and I haven’t received any assistance in getting the problem resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deltek is benefiting me by keeping track of what has been put on to each job.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Deltek Costpoint as an accountant at T and W Operations is how well it supports project based accounting while providing real time visibility into financial data. The system allows all costs including labor materials and overhead to be tied directly to specific projects which makes it much easier to track job costs monitor budgets and evaluate profitability. I also appreciate how Costpoint integrates timekeeping payroll and accounting so that once timesheets are approved the information flows directly into the financial system which helps reduce manual errors and saves time. Another strong feature is its ability to maintain compliance and keep records organized which is especially helpful for audits and reporting requirements. In addition the reporting and drill down capabilities make it easy to review transactions and analyze financial performance in detail. Overall Costpoint stands out because it combines accuracy efficiency and strong financial control in one system that supports both daily operations and long term decision making.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Deltek Costpoint is that updates are only released on a quarterly basis, which means if an issue comes up or something is not working properly, it can take up to three months before it gets fixed. This can be frustrating in a fast paced accounting environment where problems often need to be resolved quickly. Waiting for the next update can slow down workflows and force us to find temporary workarounds instead of having a permanent solution right away. While the system is strong overall, the delay in updates can make it less flexible when immediate changes or fixes are needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deltek Costpoint solves the challenge of managing project based accounting by centralizing financial data and tracking costs like labor materials and overhead by project. It also reduces manual work by integrating timekeeping payroll and accounting. This benefits me by improving accuracy saving time and giving me real time visibility to better manage financial performance.

It is hard to make changes once the project is ongoing.

Costpoint’s Versatile, Scalable Platform Built for Long-Term Growth
What do you like best about the product?
Costpoint is a highly versatile platform built on a robust database foundation. It’s a well-structured tool that can support significant growth and expand the technical capabilities of your enterprise over time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Often, I need to get on a call with a customer representative to use many of the more robust features, and it’s difficult to get on the phone or a Teams chat with someone who can actually help when I’m stuck trying to use a specific capability of the platform. I’d really like a more involved learning hub, with step-by-step walkthroughs and clear examples, that customers and users of the platform can refer to when they need guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It creates a controlled framework for us to conduct business. The guardrails help us ensure information assurance and quality assurance. That standardization is key, because it then allows us to move the data into our reporting.
Effective for Compliance, Challenging Setup
What do you like best about the product?
I like the T&E flow for project billing in Deltek Costpoint. It helps take away manual timesheet reporting to the billing process, making it much smoother.
What do you dislike about the product?
Deltek Costpoint is not very user-friendly. I have to use consultants to help me set up just about anything. You can't just create a project and start using it; there's a ton of different setups needed to actually utilize a new project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deltek Costpoint solves Government Contracting compliance issues and helps automate the T&E timesheet to billing process, reducing manual effort.
User-Friendly Financial and Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like how user-friendly Deltek Costpoint is. I think it is a great system for my position at my company.

I want more videos that are user friendly for report building

Deltek Costpoint helps me keep track of company finances and project health, which is crucial for program control and financial planning.
Cognos: A Reporting Tool We Love
What do you like best about the product?
Cognos. Reporting has never been easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Internal reporting. Need to use Cognos instead of Costpoint reports.

Currently the only system for keeping our Accounting books.
