I've been working with bitwarden for a long time in my company

  • May 20, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
For me, the best of bitwarden is the possibility to work on the browser or on the application.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think bitwarden needs to improve the folder structure and the search/filter to be more precise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To have a centralize password manager.

Exceeded our expectations in every way

What do you like best about the product?
We researched password vaults extensively for our organization, and Bitwarden ticked all of the boxes.

Self-hostable - Check
Easy to setup and deply - check
Support - BIG check

Our organization utilizes Bitwarden by policy, but we were amazed by the adoption rate in the organization when first implementing on a voluntary basis. All of our users use it daily. It integrates with FIrefox and Chrome giving our users the ability to move between the two browsers when needed.

Support (when I finally did need it) was a joy. I noted that the e-mails from Bitwarden come from support@bitwarden.com. I simply sent an e-mail to that address, and I was engaged with support quickly. They provided exactly the levl of support we needed, and without having to go through a "script." By all accounts the person who replied to my e-mail was the person who solved it.

I would recommend it to any organization looking to enforce password vaults. I use it personally.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish features like URL synching between browsers was a thing, but I'm not sure if there is even a way to implement it. Maybe a special Bitwarden bookmark bar so it does not necessarily interfere with any native browser features.

GPO config for an organization might be nice... or GPO "like" features from the admin console to logged in users (we are self hosted).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to using Bitwarden we had an aging user base that had the same password for everything. We have been able to educate these users to use Bitwarden to safely store passwords as well as generate unique passwords for websites. It has helped our company security footprint a lot as 3rd part site credential compromizes rarely move laterally to other sites, and are contained to [usually] one user and one account.

Great product for those that have a lot of passwords

What do you like best about the product?
I use it every day all the time and in all the devices. It's really easy to use and implement in teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that will be nice to improve is the way that they share things. Maybe a share password temprary link.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can have diffrent passwords in a single place secured instead of using not encrypted solutions

Seamless Enterprise Password Management

  • May 17, 2024

What do you like best about the product?
You never have to see or remember another password ever again. You can login using passwordless methods. Once you are logged in, you can get Bitwarden to generate any passwords you need for an entry, then get Bitwarden to auto-fill that password. Once you've created your entry, Bitwarden stores the login details, encrypted, in a secure vault. You can create separate, unique, strong passwords without writing them down or remembering them, for every website or other system you login into. You can bolster your Bitwarden security using passkeys or physical security devices such as Yubikey. Integration is easy using the browser extensions, and it is also cross-platform (Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android). I've used Bitwarden for 4 years and have only once needed Customer Support. I use it every day for logging into various websites and other systems. Getting it installed is a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
In-app documentation was, on last inspection, meagre I think. It could be a tiny bit more intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Good cyber security hygiene means that you should not duplicate passwords across multiple systems or websites. You should use very strong passwords that are randomly generated. I have hundreds of logins which would be unmanageable without proper password management software, whilst sticking to the cyber hygiene rules. Logging into websites can be done in semi-automated, or automated way depending on how you wish to use Bitwarden, so once you have added an entry in Bitwarden, logging in is so much faster than typing in a password each time. From an administrative point of view, managing the Bitwarden software is also very easy. You can create new organisations and set up folders to organise passwords. Passwords that belong to an organisation are separate from those belonging to an individual, so if a person leaves the company, they can take their own passwords with them, but the organisation passwords remain. In short, Bitwarden provides very secure, quick and easy to use, password management.

Excellent software to manage passwords, logins and other secrets in a scalable way

What do you like best about the product?
Bitwarden is engineered very well with the focus on end-user experience. I love that it is open source and can be both operated self-hosted as well by leveraging the SaaS offering. It scales well by their Organizations feature
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the Safari Browser Extensions has some glitches, which is only a small visual downside. I am sure the Bitwarden Team will improve here in the future
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bitwarden gives me easy access to all my passwords on all of my devices.

The Best Solution for Managing Passwords at Work and on the Go

  • May 16, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Bitwarden has been helpful at work after migrating from the built-in browser password manager. I use multiple browsers for QA and testing with multiple test accounts. Bitwarden has proved essentially in managing all of these accounts all of these test accounts and working great across browsers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think for me the fact that there isn't biometric 2FA on mobile is a downside. I will say that the interface feels a bit dates too when compared to other password managers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For QA testing and managing multiple user profiles, Bitwarden is helping us to keep track of all of the accounts. This allows for faster testing on different workstations.

Bitwarden:The vaccine for cyber threats

What do you like best about the product?
Since our initial deployment, Bitwarden has continued to improve in ways that reinforce our confidence in the platform. One major improvement is the continued refinement of passkeys and passwordless authentication, which has reduced reliance on traditional passwords while improving both our security and convenience. The autofill experience across browsers and mobile devices has also become more intuitive and faster making our daily workflows even more smoother. We particularly appreciate revamped password health and security reports, which provide clearer visibility into reused, weak and exposed credentials and guide towards better security. Bitwarden's expanding ecosystem, including its dedicated authenticator app and secret management capabilities has made it more than just a password manager but a broader identity and access security too for us. Bitwarden also shows promising direction in how it has incorporated Intelligent automation into security monitoring . It is increasingly using smart analysis to flag compromised credentials, highlight risk patterns and recommend corrective actions. This security centric approach aligns so well with our expectations as it prioritizes data ownership while helping us make better security decisions. Regular updates, UI refining and feature rollouts has enables us to consistently respond to our changing cyber security landscape.
What do you dislike about the product?
The centralized vault model remains to be my greatest concern as it represents a single high value target if our master credentials are compromised . Additionally native safeguards e.g granular vault segmentation, clearer disaster recovery workflows or optional decentralized vault structure could further strengthen our confidence for managing critical infrastructure. Lastly, while the interface has improved more guided in app education could help us to easily adopt the advanced features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have fully addressed the challenge of generating and remembering distinct and robust passwords for all our accounts. Bitwarden stores and autofills our passwords. It keeps our passwords secure in an encrypted vault and also safeguard sensitive information. We have locked private data, music and financial information behind passwords eliminating potential risks.
We are able to securely access music streaming platforms

The greatest password manager, very capable of securing all data.

What do you like best about the product?
Bitwarden has very supportive customer success agents who have given me excellent support whenever I’ve needed it. It provides detailed reports and logs that help me understand data access activity, so I can ensure no unauthorized person has accessed my data.

Bitwarden also makes it easy to generate strong passwords to protect my information and restrict access. It keeps me aware of loopholes and vulnerabilities by helping me quickly identify weak passwords that could leave my data exposed. I also appreciate the secure, private information-sharing features, which let me share even highly confidential information safely and privately without fear of losing it.

Integrating Bitwarden with other products I use was simple, and it has worked well with them without performance issues. It provides a secure storage vault that helps me store sensitive information safely, and it gives me easy access to security health metrics so I have clear visibility into how secure my data is.

Bitwarden makes password management straightforward. I can create new passwords, delete any password I need to, and keep everything stored in one secure place. It syncs across all my devices, so I can access my passwords from anywhere. The interface is intuitive and clean, which makes it easy to navigate and use all the available functions.

Having one master password to secure everything else means I don’t have to remember every individual password. It has also allowed me to use different types of security access, like passkeys and biometrics, not just passwords. Overall, Bitwarden helps me keep testing password strength to ensure my passwords are capable of keeping my data safe at all times.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’ve never had any challenges with Bitwarden. It offers everything I need, and I honestly don’t have anything more to ask for. I don’t have any dislikes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bitwarden helps me ensure that my data is always safe and secure from different kinds of security threats. It lets me generate strong passwords, which helps restrict access to my data to only me. It also provides a very convenient platform for managing all the passwords I’ve created.

With Bitwarden, I can create one master password to secure all my other passwords. This means I no longer have to remember every single password; I just need to remember the master password. It also allows me to securely store my sensitive data in a safe vault and share it safely whenever I need to.

What do you like best about the product?
I used it with the idea of blocking PUP because, in research, I realized that few companies blocked this type of "malware," and it worked, in addition to being able to look at browser extensions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface isn’t the prettiest, but it would have to improve slightly to make it more intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resolved problems related to PUP and browser extension.
