Continuous lab access has strengthened my hands-on skills and supported ongoing certifications

  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Red Hat Learning Subscription provides video classes, recorded classrooms, materials, updated courses, and labs. The major advantage is the very good lab setup where I can do all hands-on practice.

The hands-on lab helps with my learning experience and is unlimited. I can do the practice, and especially those looking for certification can do all kinds of practices in this environment. I can delete and recreate the labs myself, and those features are also available.

What is most valuable?

Red Hat Learning Subscription offers a list of courses with labs available. They provide 90 days and one-month subscription options. Accordingly, I can access video classes, recorded classrooms, materials, and lab setup for hands-on learning.

The biggest advantage of Red Hat Learning Subscription is the lab facility and the materials are also good.

I appreciate the hands-on lab environment with Red Hat lab environment in their cloud.

In the learning portal, I can track how many courses I attended, what my progress is, and how many certificates I have taken.

Red Hat Learning Subscription helps with my career development.

This learning portal is very good for learning about Red Hat products. Whatever new things are coming, I can access this portal and learn, spend my time in practice and learning.

Red Hat Learning Subscription has separate material for the labs and separate material for the entire course. There is guided instruction for the lab as well. If I want only the practice for the lab, I can go directly to the lab material and do not need to look at the entire documents about the course.

What needs improvement?

As an individual accessing the portal, it is a little expensive. When I did not have partner access and was subscribing to Red Hat Learning Subscription, I felt it was costly.

Red Hat Learning Subscription is offered for 90 days. If purchasing the subscription, they should give more time instead because some courses are very lengthy. People may need more time since they are spending time outside of their working time, so the duration needs to be increased.

There is a latency issue with Red Hat Learning Subscription sometimes. I cannot say if it depends on my internet or their internet.

The only concerns I see about Red Hat Learning Subscription are the price being a little expensive and stability issues, as there is sometimes latency.

For how long have I used the solution?

As a partner, I have been using Red Hat Learning Subscription for the last three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of Red Hat Learning Subscription as eight to eight and a half.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate scalability as nine.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate technical support with Red Hat Learning Subscription as ten. There is an easily accessible chat option along with this training. In the same portal itself, if I face any issue, I can ask the agent and they will support it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used SUSE one also. I cannot judge that one because I did not use SUSE much. I need time to look into that one also because I did not use that for long, only very small training or details. I cannot compare it. With Red Hat, I have spent a lot of time, but with SUSE, I did not spend time, so I cannot compare.

How was the initial setup?

Red Hat Learning Subscription is very simple to install and deploy. I do not need to install Red Hat Learning Subscription. I am directly accessing the Red Hat portal and connecting to the Red Hat cloud. I am registering through a browser and start using it. I am not installing it on my laptop, on my premise, or anywhere in another cloud. I am not installing it, not even in AWS.

What was our ROI?

Red Hat Learning Subscription is worth its money, so it is a worth investment.

What other advice do I have?

I do not really work with JBoss. I do not really have any insights on the value of role-based learning paths within Red Hat Learning Subscription. I do not use any specific metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the product. I am not clear about the question regarding metrics. I do not have anything to say about the negative side of Red Hat Learning Subscription. Red Hat Learning Subscription learning portal subscription is very simple. I would rate this review as ten.
