Daily learning has boosted my scripting automation and streamlined multi-machine workflows
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Red Hat Learning Subscription is using it in my day-to-day life, as all my applications are built on top of Red Hat, so I am using it day in and day out.
For example, I use Bash applications or SSH applications to create scripts that run Bash or SSH, and this automates some of the work, which is how I use it.
Other ways I use Red Hat Learning Subscription mainly involve building applications on top of it, as most of the scripts that we run are executed on Red Hat, so that is how we are using it.
What is most valuable?
Among the best features Red Hat Learning Subscription offers is the Bash functionality, which I appreciate greatly, and also the SSH feature, for example, allowing access to machines in different locations. Secondly, features such as rsync or SCP for copying files from different machines are also very useful, where you do not rely on a single machine, and the scripts generated can work on all different machines, so there are numerous different things, such as writing a script.sh and calling that file to run my automation.
I find all of the features you mentioned, including Bash, SSH, rsync, SCP, and automation, especially helpful for my daily tasks, as I appreciate all of those features and many others as well.
Red Hat Learning Subscription has positively impacted my organization very much, as all the applications are, first of all, lightweight, fast, efficient, and we have so many scripts built on top of that, which helps a lot.
What needs improvement?
To improve Red Hat Learning Subscription, I think there could be more guided learning paths and more hands-on labs to increase the number of real-world scenarios, as well as better filtering by skill level and certification objectives, and perhaps adding more certification-specific content could also be beneficial.

What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking into using Red Hat Learning Subscription is to be consistent and engage with bite-sized modules daily, as you can learn a few things each day, but consistency is key. I would rate my overall experience with Red Hat Learning Subscription as a nine out of ten.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have not evaluated other options because my team and I already had our focus on Red Hat Learning Subscription.
What other advice do I have?
One of Red Hat Learning Subscription's strengths is that the content comes directly from Red Hat. Because the training materials, labs, and certification objectives are developed by the vendor, I consider the information highly accurate and reliable.
My advice to others who are looking into Red Hat Learning Subscription is to take full advantage of the hands-on labs and structured learning paths. Do not just watch the videos. Spend time completing the exercises and troubleshooting issues yourself. That is where the real learning happens. Completing the exercises and troubleshooting issues you face while completing tasks on your own will create logic in your head. Completing those exercises and troubleshooting such issues without simply watching videos will provide deeper learning. I would rate this product 9 out of 10.

Hands-on labs have strengthened my Linux networking skills and improved real-time troubleshooting
What is our primary use case?
I have close to five years of experience in my current field. I basically use Red Hat Learning Subscription to learn Linux fundamentals and improve my troubleshooting skills. I started by exploring Linux fundamentals, and within the last two months, I have been strengthening my Linux basics and working with hands-on labs that are relevant for my troubleshooting and system-level understanding. Apart from that, I have also worked on labs configuring network interfaces, DNS, and firewall settings. I used it to understand system logs and debug connectivity issues. Additionally, I have used it to understand basic automation with shell scripting for repetitive checks. Using these labs has helped me strengthen my fundamentals, which has helped me in my day-to-day troubleshooting work, including working with tools such as monitoring agents or servers. Overall, I can say I used it mostly for hands-on labs around Linux fundamentals, networking, troubleshooting connectivity issues, working with firewall instances, and improving my command-line skills for real-time debugging, such as commands including ping, traceroute, and netstat.
The best features Red Hat Learning Subscription offers are the labs. Most of them are cloud-based labs that I can access from anywhere, anytime, and practice in a real environment without setting things up. I also see that the learning paths are very structured, which can help guide any individual, whether from basic to advanced topics. I personally picked up all the courses which are relevant to my field in networking. Additionally, they are self-paced, which is very easy to learn alongside my work. In regard to exam readiness and certification alignment, it is very useful as I was also planning in the near future to give the RHCE exam. My favorite lab recently was the Linux networking and troubleshooting lab, where I worked on things such as configuring network interfaces, checking connectivity using ping and traceroute, and analyzing ports using netstat. I also liked labs involving firewall configuration because it directly relates to what I do here in my company as a network engineer. This made me feel very close to real-world scenarios. Additionally, I especially like that the labs are sandboxed so I could experiment and even break things without impacting anything. This has helped me build my overall confidence for real-time troubleshooting.
What is most valuable?
Regarding the hands-on labs, I felt they were quite interesting and very useful as they are very close to real-world scenarios. For any network engineer that could be early in their career, the ability to actually practice troubleshooting, configuring network settings, and working with tools instead of just reading theory really helped me to understand and get a deeper practical level of experience. I found the labs very engaging and practical, very well-structured, and provided a good environment without worrying about breaking anything. Sometimes I felt a bit guided, but overall they are helpful for building confidence, especially for real-time troubleshooting. In short, I can say they are pretty useful and practical, and good for real-world practice, especially for troubleshooting and Linux networking tasks.
Most recently, the labs have helped me get more comfortable with debugging issues at the OS level, which is really useful when dealing with monitoring tools and real-time network problems. The sandbox environment is also very nice because I could experiment freely without impacting anything.
In regard to quality of content and platform usability, I see that the learning path content quality is quite strong and industry-relevant. I also see that they are created by Red Hat experts and align very well with real-world use cases rather than just theory. The combination of videos, reading material, and hands-on labs are helpful. As a network engineer, I especially found the Linux part and troubleshooting topics very practical for my day-to-day work. The content is regularly updated, and there is a wide range of topics from basic to advanced level. Regarding platform usability, it is very easy to navigate and well-structured. The learning paths provide progression guidance instead of figuring things out on my own. I liked having the labs, videos, and progress tracking all available in one place. One thing I noticed is that while the platform is good overall, sometimes the learning paths can feel a bit generic and labs slightly guided, but overall it is a smooth experience and easy to use alongside a full-time job. The quality is very solid and practical, and the platform is very user-friendly and well-structured.
What needs improvement?
Red Hat Learning Subscription can be improved in several ways. I feel overall it is a solid platform, but some labs feel a bit guided. Adding more open-ended or real-world scenario-based labs would improve problem-solving skills. The learning paths feel very generic at times, and more role-based tracks, such as tracks for a network engineer versus a system admin, would be very helpful. It would be great to have more real-world case studies or troubleshooting scenarios. Occasionally improving lab performance or loading time would enhance the experience. If it were more interactive, such as quizzes based on weak areas, it could make it more personalized. I think adding more real-world, less guided labs and making it more interactive with quizzes and learning features would really enhance the experience.
I would also love to have a listen to the speech button where, instead of just reading the content, I could play or listen to the content while I am working at my day job and also preparing alongside, reading some content on Red Hat Learning Subscription. A speech-aloud button where I can listen instead of just reading that long document would be really helpful.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Red Hat Learning Subscription for more than two years.
What other advice do I have?
When I started using Red Hat Learning Subscription, I was early in my career, starting up as a network engineer, but moving forward, Red Hat Learning Subscription has made a very positive impact, especially in improving my Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting approach. As a network engineer, many issues come my way every day, from OS level debugging to many application layer issues. The hands-on labs helped me get more confident with that. In terms of skills, I improved in areas such as Linux networking, log analysis, and firewall configuration. This directly supports my day-to-day work. I also became very comfortable working on servers while diagnosing network or application issues. From a productivity perspective, I can say it reduced the time I spend figuring out basic issues. Now I have a more structured approach, and I can identify whether a problem is network-related or system-related. Overall, it has contributed to better efficiency and confidence when I am handling real-time issues as a network engineer.
The subscription has directly helped in my role and I am able to diagnose issues faster now. In terms of measurable metrics, while I do not have any formal tracked metrics, I did notice a few measurable metrics. My troubleshooting time has reduced by 20 to 30 percent since I became more structured in debugging. I was able to understand faster root cause analysis. My dependency is reduced on other Linux-related tasks and I have achieved better first-time resolution in some cases because of improved command-line confidence and log analysis. Overall, the biggest measurable impact was improved efficiency and quicker issue resolution.
Better integration with LLM LMS platforms and reporting dashboards would be helpful. Additionally, integration with tools such as GitHub or automation platforms which I have been recently exploring for more real-world practice, especially when working around scripting and DevOps, would be beneficial for such use cases. More personalized recommendations on the platform for people who have started and have no idea what course to take up would also be helpful. I think there should be an option to download lab guides and also offline access for revision. My overall rating for Red Hat Learning Subscription is 9 out of 10.
