Effective for email and document template creation with helpful support

  • September 18, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We used Conga to create invoice documents and PDFs of invoices. Additionally, we utilized it for institute-related documents like attendance certificates, conduct certificates, and various other certificate creation tasks.

What is most valuable?

I find the Conga email template creation and the document template creation features very useful. It is also valuable that the source of HTML is provided, which allows for the creation of custom documents.

What needs improvement?

For newcomers to the platform, the removal of certain suggestions in recent releases can be a pain area. Previously, we had default flags like SC0 and SC1 displayed on the customization page, which made it easier for beginners. Reintroducing these suggestions in future releases could improve the user experience.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Conga for a while.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are no major breakdowns, and everything works fine. If there are issues with Conga queries, they get resolved quickly. The APIs and custom button PDF generation also work within the expected timeframes, making the solution reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Conga is efficient at creating PDFs dynamically. Once you understand the logic, it becomes very comfortable to scale up or down.

How are customer service and support?

The support team is responsive and quick compared to other products. They connect with us promptly, go through the issue, and provide solutions effectively.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The setup process involved reproducing the same configurations in different environments like development, QA, UAT, and production manually. We manually copied and pasted components without going through any deployment process.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, the package is very good for automated documentation. I recommend it to others looking for similar solutions. There is room for new enhancements that can further improve the platform.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

The suction that enables Salesforce customers to customize, streamline and scale document generation and reporting for Salesforce

What is our primary use case?

I’ve worked on two projects with Conga Composer. In one, I automated a company’s quoting process to quickly generate customized quotes for clients, replacing a manual system and reducing human errors. In another, I integrated Conga Composer with DocuSign to automatically generate documents and send them for customer signatures. While I haven’t used Conga Composer for contract management, I’ve used it extensively for quoting processes.

What is most valuable?

I like Conga Composer because it's simple and flexible. I can manage complex formatting and queries easily and integrate it with other tools like DocuSign for the signing process. I’ve used it in Salesforce by installing the Conga Composer package, creating Conga solutions, queries, templates, and using different parameters. Integration with DocuSign allows me to send documents for signatures with just one click, which has greatly improved workflows. By automating processes, such as generating quotes, it has reduced human errors significantly. I also find the ability to generate documents in various formats like PowerPoint, Excel, and Word very useful. However, I haven't worked with its AI capabilities yet.

What needs improvement?

One downside of Conga Composer is that it requires integration with other tools for the signing process. Apart from that, I find nothing major to be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I’ve been working with Salesforce for 2.5 years, and during this time, I’ve also worked with third-party tools like Conga Composer, CPQ, and DocuSign.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven’t encountered any performance or stability issues with Conga Composer.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I find it scalable; for example, I suggested using Conga Composer in a project involving CPQ to generate quotations.

How are customer service and support?

I work with the cloud version, specifically Sales Cloud.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

In comparison to DocuSign and CPQ, Conga Composer has some advantages. It supports various formats like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, which DocuSign does not. Conga Composer also offers advanced automations and dynamic template selections, which are not available in DocuSign. Additionally, it allows table formatting on templates, whereas DocuSign does not.

How was the initial setup?

I haven’t needed to escalate any questions to tech support for Conga Composer. Before using Conga Composer, I worked with DocuSign and CPQ.

What about the implementation team?

We had about fifty users in that project, and it was used across multiple departments. Maintenance is minimal—just keep the subscription active, and it works smoothly. Onboarding is straightforward; I didn’t face any complexities starting with it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Regarding pricing, I believe it’s around fifty dollars, but I’m not entirely sure. Overall, I find the pricing reasonable and am quite satisfied with the product. The value we get from it justifies the cost, as it requires minimal maintenance and is straightforward to use. The functionality it provides aligns well with the investment.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Conga Composer to others. I would explain its functionalities and the implementation process if they are not familiar with it. On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Conga Composer at nine.

Useful for creating templates on Salesforce object records

  • September 04, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Conga Composer to generate invoice and code templates. It's useful for creating templates on Salesforce object records, but I haven't used it for contract management.

What is most valuable?

What I like about Conga Composer is that it's much easier than Salesforce's native templating. It's simple to add merge fields, write queries to pull data and access up to four levels of related objects. This makes it very comfortable to get all the needed data into templates.

We can use Word templates with Word boxes and customize everything. Its conditions are very easy to write and hide content based on requirements. When used with DocuSign, Conga Composer can calculate currency fields that DocuSign can't.

We can default to PDF and hide content to reduce errors. We can generate invoices by clicking a button and hiding tables, which we can't do in DocuSign. We can download and attach documents to notes and attachments or any field we require.

The solution with Salesforce allows us to generate templates with a single click after some configuration steps.

What needs improvement?

The only improvement I'd like to see is the ability to hide a single column within a grouped table, which I couldn't figure out how to do.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with the product for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven't faced any stability issues in the two projects I've worked on.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The tool seems scalable and easy to understand. The documentation from the community partner is very detailed and helpful.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't personally worked with their technical support.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is manual and takes about two to three hours. For my current project, I have Conga Composer installed in developer and QA orgs. In previous projects, we deployed it from dev to QA to UAT and then to production, which required manual steps. It's a cloud-based solution that works with Salesforce.

What about the implementation team?

The tool's deployment was done in-house.

What was our ROI?

When bundled with Salesforce, the tool costs a bit less. I find it provides good value for money and saves time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I think the tool costs around six dollars per user.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend Conga Composer to others because it's easy to use and understand. It supports downloading templates in multiple formats like Word and PDF, more than DocuSign. My advice to potential users is that it's really handy and supports many template formats. On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Conga Composer a nine overall.

Easy to setup and customize

What do you like best about the product?
It's a simple tool that does a simple task where Salesforce falls short. It is capable of doing many complex processes if necessary. It saves time creating and sending documents that are required by the business on a regular cadence.
What do you dislike about the product?
For more complex solutions, Conga Composer + Solution isn't very intuitive when editing templates, and the documentation has proven to be incomplete. I have had to work with support pretty closely to meet our business requitements. Luckily their support team is extremely knowledgable, responsive, and friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conga Composer allows our business to generate printable guest books of event guests before events so that our team can study attendees, and match faces with names, bios, and area of interests. Conga Composer also generates a post-event report that is easy for our seniors to digest in a PDF format that is emailed following an event.

What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
We do not have documentation in French
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the retrieval of Salesforce data on accounts, contacts, opportunities, and all components in order to design materials that are easy for users to use on a daily basis

What do you like best about the product?
It is a great product that does exactly what we need - combining data from Salesforce to display in an easy-to-read format for our clients. There is also a lot of flexibility in creating different document types.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some document types have more limitations, like PDFs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer have to take lots of time manually filling in documents but can just a click of a button.

Conga is more essential that Salesforce

  • August 20, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have a Salesforce Subscription just for Conga Composer. We can throw anything at it and get what we need. Our contracts can be quite complex. We have over 80 word and pdf documents that are combined into a single pdf, merged with hundreds of fields. We have if/then statements within Word to show or hide just the right text for different state laws. We have custom links and automatic field updates. Our Conga Composer merges all these fields together into a single zip, then passes this document straight into Conga Sign where our clients can sign in-person.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's really nothing we don't like. The document builder hasn't seen an update in a while but it works very well as is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our contracts are very complex. We operate over 9 different states. It pulls together all the templates we need, using formula fields, and generates a single pdf with all the signature tags we need for Conga Sign and OneSpan.
