Miro is a perfect tool to visualise team workflow and personal thoughts

  • May 18, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the ability to visualise and draw connections between all the elements on the board. The mind map tool is really useful. Importing documents and presentations is great. For personal use, I like to visualise my jobs to be done for the upcoming week. A very good function is the export as an image or pdf. It gives a convenient way to share the meeting notes with the client after the meeting. It is quite quick to start using Miro - the interface on a simple user level is convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
We often create templates where we want users to follow the guidelines and fill in the information or do a quick brainstorming, but the annoying aspect is that everyone can move around the elements that are put down on the board. In group meetings, it becomes really annoying if people accidentally move around the elements that shouldn't be moved around. It frustrates both the people using the framework and also the owners. It would be great if it was possible to paste in excel tables - really miss this function. Often we prepare offers or do brainstorming around them in Miro and excel is needed to visualise the numbers in a convenient way. Sometimes users get lost in the Miro board or think it is empty if the frames are too large.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we need to discuss with a client particular aspects that we can comment on and have a joint understanding of how we phrase things, it is really useful. We also use Miro for meetings to follow a certain meeting flow (the client doesn't see that).

The best free virtual board application

  • May 17, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The customization of the board is quite advanced. You can do everything you would do with a physical board.
Everything is editable in real time with other users.
The app is very user-friendly. You can start to use it without any indications.
Navigation inside a giant board is relatively easy thanks to the map and the fact you can follow other user's cursors.
The app is web-based so that you can use it from any device.
It depends on the usage you want, but the free version might be enough for your company. We use it mostly to share our scrum board, and so one board is enough.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't see a downside. You can remove the things you don't like or don't use them.
I don't like to see the collaborators' cursors, especially when we are more than ten currently using the board, but you can hide them.
The locking system can be frustrating if someone selects a card and you can't edit it or move it, you have to ask that user to unlock it himself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the corona crisis, we needed an online tool to be able to do our scrum board still. In the end, it means less paper and easy accessibility.
Now we also use it in meetings for brainstorming and surveys.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is free as long as you use only three boards. You can use it for your daily scrum, but if you want more, you'll have to pay.

Easy-to-use and extensive online whiteboard

  • May 16, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is an extensive tool I use for many different use cases, such as remote workshops, brainstorming, research, moodboards, organizing processes, wireframing, …. I share the boards with team members as well as I create boards for my personal projects. It is very easy to use. I also like the templates which save a lot of time i.e. with setting up process charts, mind maps, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some minor bugs, such as when placing a pdf and displaying page 3, the next time I open the board, the displayed pdf page is page 1 again. The issue can be easily solved by extracting the pages. Apart from that everything is going smooth.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Online collaboration gets really easy with Miro. A great benefit is that I can collect all my research and thoughts at one place and the templates for visualizing and structuring processes are great time savers.

What do you like best about the product?
How versatile and practical the tool is.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit complex to learn all the features in the beginning, but it's worth it to master it and it pays off later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a Continuous Improvement Manager I use it basically for everything: personal notes and lists, but also as a brainstorming tool and progress tracking tool, based on Design Thinking and Agile Methodologies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You definitely should give it a try
