The tool that revolutionized online collaboration with my team

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Miro is the huge amount of freedom it gives you to express yourself and share ideas with your colleagues. Back before COVID, we used to sketch ideas on paper or even on a whiteboard and that just wasn't possible anymore when we had to shift to online work. But as soon as we discovered Miro, that changed forever. Now we have very useful tools at our disposal to share ideas effectively. Sketching, using shapes, post-its, images, text, arrows... You name it. It's so easy to share these ideas and even export those creations from Miro to other places.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro is unfortunately not suitable for every machine and every internet connection. It's a bit difficult to work with people on days that their connection is a bit slow or with people that have older computers. It gets quite laggy and if the board has too many objects it might take a bit long for them to load everything. I do understand that these are not really issues from Miro itself but it would be fantastic if they managed to optimize it for those low-end machines and connections.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are mostly using Miro to brainstorm ideas. During a brainstorm process, ideas are still very abstract and it's tough to express yourself with them. Some people find it easier to use text for that, while others like to draw, or even use images. Miro has tools for all of these people and it is quite easy to organize all the ideas that are put in a board later so we can actually unite the most important ones and settle on the best one.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to get the Premium version for your team since it allows you to use other features that make your experience more meaningful. Exporting frames in SVG or high resolution images is fantastic.

Besides that, make sure to really use the whole area of a board. I've often seen people creating new boards for different frames within the same subject. The board area in Miro is HUGE, so remember to zoom out and check it out for yourself.

Miro made my work more efficient than in the pre-pandemic days.

What do you like best about the product?
Collaborative work with my team. Miro is easy to use. Visualizing things is fun. I like adding icons, it makes people laught. Voting feature is awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of some features (such as private/hidden area) that I can use for better meeting facilitation.
Plugins are mostly poor.
I don't use templates because they don't meet my requirements. They are mostly ugly, lacking things. I prefer to draw everything by myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a software developer, I work in the Scrum framework, and I use Miro for everything possible. We use it in planning and daily (not stand-up anymore) meetings. We use it for split big user stories into smaller parts on refinement sessions. We use it to create documentation for our product, etc. We use it for scrum retrospectives. And sometimes, we use it for creating meeting notes.

What do you like best about the product?
It's clearly laid out in terms of tools and workspace, intuitive, powerful, chock full of useful templates, and it just works.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of. This is a really well designed platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brainstorming and strategizing alone or with my colleagues. Running strategy and problem-solving workshops with clients. Diagramming processes. Utilizing standard frameworks, such as the Business Model Canvas.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I can't think of a better whiteboarding platform for individual work, collaboration and workshopping.

What do you like best about the product?
Great interface. User friendly. Staff follow-up quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes its hard for participants to know how to zoom in and zoom out. It might be a good idea to show where these buttons are when folks first log in with arrows that pop up briefly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We follow a design thinking approach and have used Miro to run our discovery and ideation processes.

Amazing tool to share ideas, researches and flows in a collaborative way

  • May 12, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's amazing how with a simple yet polished drawing/visualization tool, you can explain and align ideas with your team. Furthermore, the included draw library is vast. And besides team collaboration it's also a great tool for own documentation purposes. Overall I think it greatly boosts our team peformance
What do you dislike about the product?
The only negative point that I see is awkward navigation with the zoom-in/zoom-out actions. I am sure that some UX research can lead to a better user experience in this regard
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Own documentation, company service flow documentation, research for new features and knowledge sharing with team members

Cant imagine workshops without Miro

  • May 12, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
After switching to online mode for all company meetings, miro has become a must-have for me. I love the most option of hosting meetings inside miro - so I can easily see all participants and my board content.

Some more technical features that are great are:
visual tables ( I do a lot of competition research - which means a lot of screenshots) and to have those screenshot in table structure makes decision making much easier,
reactions during meetings - love how quick and easy it is to see people reactions
easy manipulation with post-it cards - connecting, moving, grouping...
wireframe-ing - quick sketches of UI are super easy and fast with library provided
What do you dislike about the product?
access to version restore could be simpler, it is easy for a new participant in workshop to delete some content by mistake
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
online workshops
visual comparison of screenshots and designs in table structure
easy in time edit of sketches and designs in ideations phase
Recommendations to others considering the product:
try it for a simple mid map excercise, and go over templates in miroverse - there is a lot of great materials

A teacher's dream

  • May 12, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that boards can be easily modified, saved and duplicated. It means I can have one board as a template for a single topic. I can easily duplicate it for each student and save it separately under different projects
I love the icon and emoji features. They make my classrooms much more playful and engaging for my younger students.
The bulk sticky note feature is also useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could add video or audio which I own which isn't already online.
I wish projects could be grouped again. Sometimes the project is over but I'd like to keep the boards for future reference. At the moment I am changing the first letter on my project names to allow them to be listed together.
I would like different projects to have their boards shown in different orders. For my 'SM4' board I need it in 'Date Modified order' but for my 'PW1' board I'd like it in 'Date created'. It would save me some time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning online lessons can be difficult. Miro allows me to easily include content from the textbook as well as my own content onto boards, which are reusable and editable. It saves me so much time and it means I can teach from anywhere.
I also love that my students have access to the boards to edit and comment. There are other platforms that offer a similar service but Miro is convenient and intuitive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it! It has made my life so much easier. The infinite number of boards has also made my life easier. I don't actually know how I would work without it.

MIRO simply takes collaboration to a next level. We switched to MIRO even on co-located meetings.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- ease of use
- visual beauty of the tool
- ease of collaboration
- good performance of the tool
- MIRO community & templates
What do you dislike about the product?
- There is some entry threshold, but it's nothing for any computer-literate person
- it took our company a long time to go from free licence to paid license with open unlimited access, as we had to wait quite some time for MIRO to comply with EU GDPR rules & for MIRO to come up with more flexible licensing for any amount of user, as company prefers, as opposed to buying 50 licences, where we needed much less
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- product & agile workshops where you want to get from idea to tangible working items fast
- getting to the bottom of problems together & solutioning with team
- understanding complex requirements
- prioritizing with stakeholders using visual templates
