Miro facilitates both expansive and focused thinking modes

  • May 04, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
These are the two (2) features I used very often:
* Sticky notes on unlimited space
* Multiple file types support

Ability to present and take notes (e.g. adding stickies) at the same time. In the past, I jotted down my presentation notes separately, because it's quite distracting to stop the presentation mode just to add some notes (or change some elements in the deck).
What do you dislike about the product?
* Overuse, esp. frequent zoom in/out, easily leads to visual fatigue
* Feature to search text inside attached pdf
* Global text search (of Miro board content) is an enterprise feature
* Pricing might be prohibitive for some individuals and/or companies
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
* Real-time remote collaboration to increase participants' engagements
* Comprehensive view of an idea or ideas, which often were captured in many different formats (e.g. YouTube videos, pdf, text-based notes, etc.)
* The ability for me to jump around the board freely facilitates creative thinking. The inherently linear sequence of slide deck often hiinders this expansive thinking mode.

Fantastic tool to work with children

What do you like best about the product?
It allows students to virtually interact. Our ice breakers in miro leaves us with a feeling of being present in the same room with students. The sticky notes feature makes it easier to move around and at the same time easy to drop in thoughts. The timer feature has helped us to be on our toes during brainstorming. Overall, the infinte board just helps us not to lose any stuff.
What do you dislike about the product?
The bandwidth it consumes. Most of my students get dropped off the zoom call the moment they try to load miro because of the internet bandwidth. A "lite" version would be greatly helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use miro extensively for design sprints. Aboslutely helpful.

One feature that could be added is the voting dots stickers just like stickynotes.

Miro has allowed me to enjoy working remotely and collaborating with different teams

What do you like best about the product?
I love the miroverse! When I'm stuck on how to push ideas or project management, I draw inspiration from the different templates that are categorized/tagged perfectly. Borrowing from ready designs from credible organizations gives me a boost of confidence and creativity.

I also think the Kanban feature on Miro is unique! I've tried other collaborative whiteboards and none yet have integrated this type of feature. In addition, I think the tables on Miro are also packed with functions compared to other whiteboards. While others focus on more visual components, Miro has the same features but packs in functionality as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, my slides I upload on my Miro board don't fully load. This has been problematic when I planned to present using Miro and my audience see pixelated slides.

In addition, since I work in the non-profit space, I think other similar products offer free use of their platforms for accredited non-profits. This is the only reason why the organization I work at uses a competitor over Miro since we can use all features which was particularly helpful in training and working with volunteers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, we use Miro to document the strategies, design, and growth of our organization. I'm also using Miro as a whiteboard that I can keep updating for big research projects. Being able to just drop a sticky note in a dedicated space when an idea or an insight pops up has been helpful. In addition, the kanban boards are a unique feature to Miro that its other competitors don't have!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Explore the miroverse and have fun with it! I use it for both collaborative and personal matters. If you're a start-up, I think having one board where everything can just have a space to live and be revisited is really helpful in staying grounded. Oftentimes, when we don't have the opportunity to zoom out, we miss out on a lot of the groundwork we've already laid out and lose sight of the vision.

Miro is amazeballs

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to collaborate in these remote times effectively has been top of mind for our teams. Miro stood out among the various solutions due to its ease of use, its rich feature set, and the beneficial and insightful Miro community.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, there's nothing I dislike about it. Very heavy boards can be a little slow at times, but I feel like that is more related to network bandwidth rather than Miro platform performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Online/Remote collaboration was the key driver for our investment in Miro. It has definitely aided us to respond more quickly to change and to rapidly align our teams on those changes.

What do you like best about the product?
how easy it is to setup and facilitate a workshop with remote teams
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything I really dislike about Miro, its great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
with dispersed team, miro allows us to have a team board that we can have meetings around, like we would if we were in the same office

Intuitive productivity tool with mind-mapping, note-taking, white-boarding & collaborative features

  • May 04, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
I use Miro for both work (on the enterprise account set up by the organisation I'm working with — a team of 50+) & personal use (on the free account — individual). The features I rely on the most would be real-time collaboration for work & mind maps for taking notes.

I also like how I'm able to access Miro on multiple devices & its integrations with other apps like Notion, Invision, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, Slack, Trello, Unsplash, Youtube, Vimeo, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of support for multiple accounts as I use separate accounts for work & personal use. There are workarounds to this such as using one account on the browser & the other account on the desktop app but it would be great to be able to log in to multiple accounts & once with the ability to switch between different accounts.

Another issue is for the free version, currently, the 3 last created boards are editable. It would be great if the 3 editable boards are the 3 last opened boards instead of the 3 last created boards as we would then be able to edit older boards as well while at the same time be limited to having 3 editable boards at any point of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been working remotely, so do most of the team members I'm working with, so the real-time collaboration features such as the collaborative whiteboard & visual collaboration tools have been a huge help to communicate & streamline work processes with my team members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
An overall great productivity tool & works for both individuals & teams

Miro empowers teams to perfectly and seamlessly collaborate in design thinking workshops online

  • May 04, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Platform's flexibility, user experience. Also the possibility of linking all kinds of media and files in the same board.
I found it extremely useful to brainstorm with my team during work-from-home periods.
Additionally, I am using to storyboard books and articles, figuring out everything from timelines to references to storyline and plots.
Finally, I am using with non-creative partners to explore new opportunities in collaborating for sustainability in our communities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found no faults to Miro so far.
Only perk I might be happy to see is the ability to make boards private as a free user.
I would love to see it expanding into a fully-integrated tool with zoom, MS teams, google meats, etc.
Also, potentially integrating more advanced prototyping tools.
Still, a great new system that I will use everyday!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
cross-referencing, large research boards to develop creative thinking and solve complex problems, storyboarding presentations and articles, collaboration of different team members to workshop ideas.
I think that Miro allows teams to explore and cross-reference together over time. When the traffic of information is limited to emails or messaging app teams, they lose the overall picture, while Miro helps them connect the dots and frame the work in the most effective way.

Excellent tool for collaboration and for organising and synthesising thoughts and info

  • May 04, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Like that most of the features I need are built in the tool (i.e. design and text formatting options, ability to add links and attachments, ability to vote, timer)
What do you dislike about the product?
When attaching images, Miro can improve on helping the user see immediately where the image is attached on the board or give the user the ability to select location to attach the images
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro during the Discovery stage (Understanding the problem) of the Design process. I also use it to collate and synthesize information and research findings and to organize my thoughts. I also use my Miro boards as my presentation tool when I'm explaining the problems and sharing insights to teammates and stakeholders. Miro is also very useful as a collaborative tool when my team and I are brainstorming or conducting retros.

Great tool for consulting

  • May 04, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's an easy to use tools that I have found to be extremely helpful when consulting with clients particularly when working remotely. I haven't had a problem with clients ever not being able to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web version is brilliant , havent had any problems but I have found the Ipad version to not be as useful. Some of the problem are not miro's fault it is just hard to use it as effectively on an iPad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro has helped me engage with clients when building out their technical requirements for custom digital solutions that I need to build out for them, it gives me a great space to work through everything and have it all on one board.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do the trial, you have nothing to lose.

Our experience with Miro

  • May 04, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great UX, super easy to use, and a fantastic collaboration tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
We require staff to use Miro occasionally. So I have to add and remove staff. I prefer an option that allows super users to remain and for me to invite staff periodically rather than to have to add and remove users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily map our processes. Plus, it has helped create detailed briefs for our software developers to create solutions to meet the expectations of the requestors
