Transformational tool for whiteboarding by yourself or with others

  • April 26, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm one of those people for whom a whiteboard is a facilitator of creative thought. I love whiteboards. Miro is better: it's actually faster to draw (and redraw) thoughts using Miro than with dry erasers. And, it's an infinite (near-infinite?) whiteboard that never needs to be erased: my thinking persists.

And of course, it can be shared and worked on collaboratively, a great feature at any time but of course critical in the era of COVID.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does take a while to get used to how you select and move objects -- it feels different from other programs that I've used -- but the learning curve isn't too long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro for at least these 3 reasons:

1) to help me develop and crystalize my thinking
2) to visualize my thinking so that I can better communicate it with others
3) to co-create with others

What do you like best about the product?
The visual way to align my business priorities
What do you dislike about the product?
As agile workflow and visual task management could be better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Strategy alignment, essentially. My team now "can see" what I am talking and thinking.

    Design

My main tool for remote codesign

  • April 25, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like in Miro is flexibility. Compared to other similar tools, you have 1) more options to free involve guest editors, 2) more plugins and third-party integrations 3) Miroverse, a community where you can share and find templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notes and cards could be more powerful: they should be integrated with external spreadsheets in a better way. I really would like to import pre-tagged notes and other metadata from external spreadsheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote collaboration. We suddenly started working remotely in March 2020: we were used to physical whiteboards, and we immediately searched a tool to replace it. Miro helps us to work together every day (we also use it for our standup meeting)

Miro, making remote discussion and complex problem solving easier

  • April 25, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that you collaborate easily with your team and your clients on almost anything. Understanding complex journey flows using screen shots and basic elements, tracking user testing, creating flows with various touch points for cross-team understanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
That client has to be paid for, to use your miro boards for a day or so. It would be really great if there was a free account type for clients that may be valid for a day or so. rather than the 2 dollar amount. As I'm not paying in USD, so this kinda adds up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I"m in the UX/IT industry and have been using Miro to map out complex business banking processes to simplify them. Onboarding my team to those complex processes. I've also used them as white boards in meetings. I've also been using it to track user testing, honestly, this part alone made the paid-for account worth it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is a great addition to any team solving digital even real-world problems inside a business or as a consultant. The diverse uses, the paid-for elements like video, timer etc use for Design Sprints is really worth while.

Great Collaboration & Engagement Tool

  • April 25, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Functionality & ease of use. Setting up Frames that then appear as Flipchart sheets, Ability to pdf session outputs and send out. Constant improvements/releases by the Miro team - that make use & functionality even better.Ability to make your own templates or use existing library of templates - makes setting up a new board easy. The ease of setting up teams and projects within - very useful when working with clients with multiple business units. New participants take a very short time to get up to speed on its use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have any dislikes - it is an excellent tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration, participation and engagement across the team. Everyone has input, even the quiet ones that in a physical meeting hold back.

Look like a pro, run workshops with ease!

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to allow guests to edit/create with you in real-time without being banned or delayed entrance by log-ins and sign-ups makes for such a great experience for your clients. We've created such win-wins during both client workshoping and hands on research sessions where we can actively get all guests, clients, interviewees into the space with little to no training required.
What do you dislike about the product?
The general readability/visibility has been an issue discussed by my teams. When compared to other tools like Mural which has higher legibility, but far limited functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro is literally my design/research team's home base to solve complex issues for multi-national fortune 100 client engagements, hosting a range of workshops from week-long design sprints to more formal research, synthesis, and analysis sessions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Invite collaborators, make use of things like the timer and templates, host a short workshop and compare it to all other digital whiteboarding tools and I think you'll find you way back to Miro, it's just a step above the rest.

Great tool for collaborative and remote work

  • April 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is a very simple to use tool that works very intuitive. As I say to my collaborators, is like if we were in a room and Miro are the walls and board with all the possible tools to use in a collaborative work session.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is not in Spanish. I use it in a Latinamerican context and some users need to understand instructions and others that are only in English.
Sometimes is slow to load boards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to create strategic frameworks where I need that others collaborate or be informed. Also I do some consulting and teaching sessions and Miro is my principal tool, over PowerPoint.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is a great tool to collaborative and remote work. Is ideal if yo use diagramming to ease understanding of ideas or frameworks and is very efficient to capture insights, ideas and so for remote people that works with you.

    Architecture & Planning

Go for miro, easy to use

  • April 24, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the opportunity to see all my drawing and to be able to easily draw and write on them. The huge zoning is really helpful as an architecture student who work in a group very regularly, it is an easy way to share and be able to download other's work !
What do you dislike about the product?
The dowloading of the board if your are not premium is not the most easy. The sharing of board is quite easy and if you share your link, it is hard to restrict access later on... The limit to three board was a struggle sometimes but with organization, everything goes great !
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I solved the probleme of being able to have a board to see all presentation and that allow modification. The board became the go to instead of a google drive and the best way to share documents and ideas through online group project.

Awesome collaboration tool, pre and post quarantine

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As an online collaborative whiteboard and more, Miro helped me and my software development team in almost all of our design meetings before the pandemic, but when we had to quarantine and work from home, it quickly became one of our most used tools, almost as much as the video conference software we use. We use Miro from everything from Scrum Sprint Planning to Design Sprint Whiteboard, to designing wireframes and mockups, to just using it as a sketch pad in our daily meetings. As a development team manager, I'm used to use physical whiteboards for almost anything, it's an indispensable tool for me, and to have an online tool that provides all of the features I need and gives me the option to use them along with my team, it instantly became a must use tool for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The workspace and board limits of the free version are a little restrictive, only letting you have 3 workspaces with 3 boards each, but as a starting point (and for free) it's enough to get things done, or at least to get things started and then upgraded to a premium account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Miro from everything from Scrum Sprint Planning to Design Sprint Whiteboard, to designing wireframes and mockups, to just using it as a sketch pad in our daily meetings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Create your first board as a 'Miscelaneous' board, and keep using it for scrap doodles so you won't have to delete a thing

Memory palace for all your projects ;)

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro works great as collaborative space for teamwork. Brainstorming, working on information architecture, user flows, developing knowledge base, etc. have never been easier. It is a great personal tool as well - I often use it for taking notes, writing down ideas, desk research.

With boards grouped by projects I can easily collect all crucial data in one place keeping the design process and documentation in order.

The usage of numerous available templates (and ability to define your own ones) significantly increase work productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
While exporting mind maps or affinity diagrams to CSV the structure is not correctly represented in the Excel file (unfortunately, the nesting of nodes is lost). But I hope that's only a matter of time before the fix is added.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I worried that it would be impossible to mimic the vibe of an offline meeting during fully remote workshops, but Miro made it possible. I quickly got used to this software, and it seems irreplaceable for me now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Working with Miro is a real pleasant experience. Despite the large number of features, the interface is not overwhelming, and it is easy to use for both inexperienced and experienced users. The library of templates not only fasten your work but also enables you to comfortably explore different methods and tools for solving problems.

I cannot imagine my daily work without this tool, especially in time of global lockdown caused by COVID-19.
