A must have collaborative tool for the virtual workspace

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is such a versatile tool. It's great for taking notes and aggregating data as a single source of truth that can be shared across team members or helping in facilitating group activities in large workshops.

It's great for someone just jumping in to have templates both created by MIRO, as well as the community, some times you're not sure where to start when planning an activity/workshop out or you're crunched for time and having templates at your disposal can really be a life saver.

Overall Miro is a great collaboration tool with tons of upside, a great community and gets people engaged in the collaboration process, in a new and different way that is quickly becoming a necessity in the current virtual working environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Onboarding for new users can be challenging; there is a learning curve primarily if you've never used a collaborative tool like Miro before. If you are doing collaborative workshops/user outreach, you'll need to allocate time for an ice breaker to make sure everyone is comfortable with the toolset. Though Miro does provide ice breaker templates that help facilitate this process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As our team has settled into working from home, Miro has helped facilitate collaborative sessions that we might have done in person, things like white boarding ideas, user flows, sprint retrospectives, customer outreach sessions. It allows us to create and maintain artifacts that we can quickly go back and reference in perpetuity.

If we need to work through something quickly, pulling up a new project and getting all the stake holders together is really as simple as sending a link out and hoping on a call.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My recommendation for someone considering Miro is to take a test drive; invite your team in and try to use the tool in a couple of different ways. Take a look at all the premade templates that Miro and the Miro Community have created to get ideas on how you may want to use Miro and dive in and play around. One thing that was also surprisingly helpful was following the keyword, Miro, on Linkedin; tons of people share tips and ideas on how to get the most out of the toolset.

What do you like best about the product?
Compared to other tools: Miro has the best UX/UI, is intuitive, simple, constantly evolving to improve functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no "individual use" options that are affordable for me to continue using more features. I still don't have a team, and I am not a consultant, so it is hard to pay the fee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping me solve workshop-style meetings, brand refresh, design methodologies for innovation processes. New product launch, brainstorming but mostly workshops.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out; the more you use it, the more it will be a part of your daily tasks.

A must for visual thinkers

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a visual thinker, I need to see things laid out in a pattern that makes sense. One of the things I like best about Miro is combining a variety of tools in one place. From mind maps to wireframes, I can do all my visual thinking in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not a dislike, but I do wish it had more clipart available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have created customer journey maps, process diagrams, and web page mock-ups in Miro. I often use the mind map feature to brainstorm ideas on my own. When working in groups, I use post-it notes to capture everyone's thoughts before organizing them.

I can't imagine life without Miro

  • April 23, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that I can virtually collaborate with coworkers and clients on miro. This is very important for us as we are consulting company.

Prior to COVID we worked on physical whiteboard with sticky notes. We are now able to do the same level of collaboration on miro. Some would say that miro is better because it save a lot of time and gives a much cleaner look.

We are also using miro for internal discussions and review of wireframes. That helps because we can continue to work virtually while still being on the same page. The easy navigation allows us to go through content quickly without having to switch between different apps.

I use miro as a replacement to powerpoint/keynote. Because of the tools in miro, it is easier for to come with 'slides' on miro. I then convert this to images and import it to keynote. I would however love it if I could just convert 'frames' in miro directly to slides. This will save me time spent in exporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
I thinking there are a lot of missing features in terms of formating text and building boards. I use miro instead of slides to prepare for meetings, but find features lacking.

Lately I have also had some challenges with SSO. This prevented me to sign into the app but I was able to sign into the web.

Other thing I don't like about miro is that the organization of different boards is not the best. I want to see more in terms of sharing. I also want to see more in sharing a board between different folders/projects.

I think some more work can also be done for templatizing. Some easy, automated tools to create templates specific to my org. We are currently doing this manually where we have a folder for templates. But having prompt that show something like - you coworker created this board, would you like to use it - will save us a lot of time and effort.

I think we also need more fornts in miro. This will help with making better boards.

We also need ability to import images or direct download. I think this might be doable with plugins that allow users to download images from the web directly into miro. An alternative to this is also to build intergration with a stock images site that allows users to get free images.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration
Visualizing Theoretical Concepts
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is an amazing tool and will change the way how you do business. If you are looking for tools to help your team collaborate, this is a great choice. Highly recommended.

Great canvas for laptop or iPad to express your vision and help to collaborate

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
smooth work, Infiniti canvas, lot of templates for different needs. great collaboration tools for team. Standalone application on iPad is very useful, especially with Apple Pencil.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no paid plan for an individual. Instead of this I should've paid for a consultant plan. Also, I would like to have an offline access to my boards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualize my thought, brainstorm with myself or with my team
Also, I like to structure my knowledge instead store it in apple notes
and visualize my personal plans, year plans and goals

Great Facilitation Tool

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I received my first exposure to Miro during an online facilitated training session.
It was by far the most interactive online training experience I had ever had!
It was intuitive and kept the entire class engaged in the content for all 3 days.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free tier is minimal.
After the training session, I tried my best to expose my other team members to the tool after singing its praises.
But I found the free tier too limited to convince them :(
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For facilitated distance training/learning, it was a great tool to keep an entire classroom engaged.
I would love to use it for my scrum team and user story mapping with business

Best all around app for brainstorming, workshopping and online collaboration

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I do really like the UX of miro, so as templates and all the different plugins. I also like the new features like the Consulting package option with the guest sharing system (and now with the naming feature). It's a big plus when it comes to SMBs cost efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would not say "don't like" it but for new customers, we have to spend time to onboard them, to learn how to navigate on a canvas and how to use miro overall. I would be nice to just send them a quick tour guide type of thing.

What I don't like is that in some cases moving objects around can be tricky. I'm mostly thinking about dot voting in workshops. Its so easy to not grab but scale the small dots that sometimes it can be extremely frustrating.
I would love to have the way voting works in the new FigJam app in miro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Me and my company were using miro way before the covid thing for online remote collaboration, but recently it become our no1 tool for meetings, workshops or any kind of brainstorming where we want to visually capture ideas, user journeys. I particularly love the mind maps. It helps soo much for clients to organize stuff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I can highly recommend Miro for anyone who likes to visualize ideas, concepts on a whiteboard. I found it much easier to explain complicated concepts to clients this way.
