The best remote workshop tool

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's remarkably intuitive and they've already thought of all the potential integrations you may need. I've used other remote workshop tools and all of them are clunky or somehow hard to use. This is the best one I've used. The support team is very responsive and the templates are really useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features behind the paywall which don't seem to make sense to me. I'm not sure why certain features are paywalled and others aren't. But this is a very minor complaint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote collaboration and brainstorming is more or less solved by Miro. It has the ease and adaptability of a physical whiteboard but with the added benefit of being able to connect the whiteboard with digital tools.

The perfect digital whiteboard

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's so easy to use and the variety of objects I have at hand is so vast that I can go from whiteboarding something to mocking up a lofi wireframe. I've used it for collaborative sessions and personal product teardowns and mind maps. it's wonderful!
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to change the background color of the whiteboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inability to use whiteboard in a digital environment

    Computer Software

Best collaborative software out in the market today

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Template libraries help to organise discussions, ideas, and problems that you would have typically solved round a whiteboard in the office pre COVID.
What do you dislike about the product?
The table tool has improved but still feel I would lean more on MS Excel for anything like this - The integration with MS excel also failed when I tried to set this up with Miro so I gave up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Colloborating with colleagues across several locations
Easier to visualise big picture and how processes / actions maps back up to it
Comments allows us to gather feedback from a wide audience on specific parts of a process
More interesting / engaging than slides or documents
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Better links into MS products

As close to "in person" as you can get . . . maybe better.

What do you like best about the product?
I've used Miro with hundreds of participants over the last year. It's intuitive and I often hear the comment that participants forget the session is virtual after a few minutes. It is the perfect virtual replacement for flipcharts and stickies.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the controls were similar across different browsers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ideation sessions, strategy workshops, cost savings drills and general note taking. Having all the input automatically captured is a real time saver. The voting option is extremely useful for seeing where there is consensus.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
avoid internet explorer

"Even better than on-site collaboration", said the client.

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro gives all my meetings structure. Miro allows for real-time collaboration that is better than any on-site whiteboard experience. It's easy for newcomers and powerful for power users. Whether it's for workshops or to take meeting notes, my clients unanimously said they wanted to keep miro after the pandemic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro isn't the only tool available. Mural and Concept Board offer similar experiences. Miro probably has the most polished interface, but they are pretty much interchangeable. For a non-tech-savvy crowd without digital whiteboard experience, I'd probably opt for Google's Jamboards instead because it is less cluttered with functionality and allows for a more structured presentation. Additionally, rights management and EU-GDPR are not straightforward with Miro. Expect some effort if you introduce the tool to a big corporate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since remote work has become the new normal, I use Miro for every meeting. Once things are written down, people can refer to it much more easily, and you can display the structure of thoughts as it emerges during the discussion.

You can mirror physical workshop spaces easily but also go beyond. It allows to show overarching context and introduces new ways of collaborating.

It's also an excellent tool to digitize the Obeya Room due to its flexibility and abundance of features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free tier. It is generally enough for the first couple of weeks. If you work in learning iterations, make it an experiement!

Quick, intuitive and creative collaboration tool

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Most helpful for me is the possibility to visualize processes quickly. I can add specific colors, which fit our corporate identity. There are dozens of templates to use.
I can easily share the content and work with my colleagues on the boards, even if they are "just" guests.
I really like that the frames can be extended to any size, so it's great to fit also complex processes on the board. Having the board unlimited is a real bonus, as many frames as you like can be added and shifted around. With the presentation mode you can adapt the order of the frames during the presentation, still they stay the same order on the board, which I think is very helpful for presenting to different clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Exporting content seems a bit tricky sometimes as it goes wrong or doesn't save. Unfortunately, you cannot export to PowerPoint which makes it complicated as I work with both of them and sometimes I need to re-do a layout as not everyone uses miro.
The zooming is a bit ennerving as it's sometimes to close or to far away or moves around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's very adaptive, and there are a lot of quick tutorials. There are a lot of helpful integrations. For it's great to show processes and work together on the improvement.
The biggest problem I could solve was the limited space I had with other tools, that was a great improvement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need an easy collaboration tool to visualize processes and work together with your team without a big intro, I can recommend miro!

Miro is a super-handy and experience-changing tool

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Love the ability to collaborate with the team, to visualize the mind maps in a fancy way, seamless engagement of colleagues without any traction on the way
What do you dislike about the product?
I know that it's a monetization strategy but still, the limit of 3 boards on the free plan and the fact that by creating the 4rth you'll sacrifice one from the previously created set of 3.

The ideas to improve: introduce a kind of folders or tags to split my boards into groups (stars are not enough)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organize my meetings with the team: benefit that everyone is engaged in discussion and collaboration
Easy way to extract my thoughts into the mindmaps

  • April 21, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Visual Collaboration with many useful templates and suitable for large groups and anonymous participants, price plans are fair. Free for beginners.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it consumes a lot of cpu power, depending on the pc it is used on.
Some functions are a bit hidden, like changing board owners and it is not so transparent what only board owners are allowed to do versus participants.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote Workshops about any topic with small and large groups.
Scrum Meetings, especially Retrospectives.
Remote Trainings (e.g. for Scrum).
To gain common understanding about complex topix, to facilitate group decisions, to mitigate conflict, to visualize problems and solutions, to inspire creativity and collaboration. To make work fun.
