Very helpful as a high-level tool, but has strong competition...

What do you like best about the product?
That it is very simple and stripped of the many capabilities other design tools have, but also the templates are really great.
What do you dislike about the product?
That it is continually updated and things are constantly changing but I don't always get updates on what when I've come back to it - but to be clear the updates are usually good, just a who moved my cheese kind of thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to create visual representations easily and collaboratively. Our team is in the middle of piloting figma, so without that we don't have a better collaborative tool or workspace. The benefit to being able to share and work on things together is great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The templates are great!

Freehand is a good tool for virtual white boarding/wireframing and collaboration

What do you like best about the product?
I like that everyone on my team has an Invision account and can access Freehand and collaborate with each other.
Its pretty simple to onboard new users into learning how to use the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Invision Freehand can be somewhat glitchy. It will zoom in randomly or sometimes I get an error "Unable to create a Freehand document. Try again later." Little things like this add up to big time sucks and fustration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily use Freehand to draw out user flows to share with my team. We also use it to combine information from user feedback systems. The templates are helpful when accomplishing these things.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd recommend using it along with other invision products for a smoother experience.

Remote Collaborative Wireframes

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Freehand is like the whiteboard in the conference room. I love the ability to collaborate live with peers and also having a way to quickly illustrate wireframe concepts.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think I dislike anything about Freehand. It's a great one to one replacement for traditional whiteboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Freehand to share wireframes, and content layouts for individual web pages when a detailed design mock isn't required. It's allowed for faster completion of tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Freehand is a great tool supporting collaboration between design and technical/management partners.

Does the basics well, could use some power user enhancements

  • May 12, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
Simple interface, intuitive, ease of sharing, integrated with InVision prototypes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit buggy, controls disappear, there isn't a permanent toolbox but rather contextual tools. Good in theory, but harder to switch between actions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brainstorming, "wall walks" where we can see all designs within a related track at once, sharing/collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Play around with it, practice with the tools, do some test collaborations and sharing.

A great way to collaborate with teammates

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a great way to collaborate with your teammates in real-time, especially in a remote environment. You can see who else is making updates, and contribute at the same time. As a UX Designer, it's really helpful to make quick markups of wireframes without having to use design software.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some limitations to how you can edit items in Freehand. For example, it would be helpful to have a crop function. I don't think there's a way to currently do this, or at least I'm unaware of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, my team uses Freehand for Solutioning and Brainstorming phases of our project. When we kickoff a project we add examples of mobile screens and mark it up with updates/comments that we have. It's a great way to keep information in one place when we start a new project. It's also a more efficient way of gathering multiple people's ideas in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of helpful videos to learn the product and features that are available in Freehand.

Great tool for team collaboration

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Freehand has made it easy for our designers to run concepts by us for reviews and feedback. I really like being able to see campaign concepts across all our marketing channels in one view.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue i have had with Freehands has been access related which I think is just related to our own internal workflow and who gets added to each project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for designing marketing campaigns and sharing/previewing with stakeholders for approvals.

A great space to collaborate and quickly work through ideas.

What do you like best about the product?
Starting with a blank canvas, the possibilities are endless and we can use it for many different things.
What do you dislike about the product?
not having version history or archive for the boards. Boards end up messy and it's hard to organize because I dont want to delete anything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for brainstorming and getting ideas down quickly.

I love the simplicity of it, it makes it easy to wire frame.

What do you like best about the product?
How easy and quick it is to whip out a wireframe with colleagues. It also makes it very easy to share with coworkers compared to a sketch file.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing is sometimes its very laggy and my computer starts to get very hot. I think the efficiency could be improved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Usually, design probelsm. The benefit is that since it is so simple focus only on the design layout
