My Review of Miro

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a collaborative tool that allows me to work in a visual format. I am not joking when I say I use it daily, and often for hours each day. It is that integral to my work and how I work with my colleagues.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of what I dislike about Miro comes down to other people not using the tool well. It is a digital tool that does take some acclimating to get really good at, like any other system. Sticky notes on a wall are easy for everyone. Digital sticky notes on a digital wall somehow takes more skill.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problem discovery, collaborative meetings across state or country lines, producing valuable insights or ideas, and generally taking better notes. Love the ability to drop a screenshot down then cluster stickies in contextual places on it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the Miro academy and templates as starters. There are a lot of really intelligent people who have put material together so don't feel like you need to re-invent the wheel.

Helpful Tool for Customized Tutoring Activities

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can upload my own PDF files to a large working space and customize the layout. I upload game boards and worksheet pages for my tutoring students, and get to customize the layout into levels or subjects I am tutoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I find the "zoom-in" and "zoom-out" function difficult to use as it doesn't always let me zoom in to their platform, instead if zooms in or out of the entire webpage. Then it gets stuck and I have to refresh the page to get it back to my normal 100% zoom setting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I tutor a lot of my students online, and I love having my activites and gameboards all in one place for easy access while tutoring. I love that I can simply open Miro and know that my material will all be in one place and that I can customize and edit the personal pdf documents that I have uploaded.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a helpful tool for onine tutors to use as a way to upload PDF files of worksheets and activities and customize them to their liking. It also allows students to complete PDF files in an easy-to-use way with text box options , written pen, highlighter, etc.

Useful tool for remote collaboration

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I found the ease with which people can familiarise themselves with the basics a huge benefit, allowing teams to begin collaborating quickly. As the team becomes more familiar with the basics there are more powerful tools for them to grow into using.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found that the flexibility on how some of the tools are implemented, such as grids, has led to users finding new and interesting ways to break the boards. This is easily combated with a little guidance at the beginnning of sessions and some preperation to lay things out but, initially this was an issue i had to work around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Much of the work i do was traditionally done face to face around a big wall with post its. The restrictions implemented around COVID initially made this impossible and Miro was the best tool i found, of the many i experimented with, that allowed me to run the same type of workshops remotely. This has continued to benefit our organisation as the covid restrictions have been reduced by allowing people to attend sessions who would have been difficult to engage in the past (geographically spread-out teams). Even face to face sessions now employ Miro as it allows us to capture ideas as we run the sessions rather than lengthy write up, increasing efficiency significantly.

Get your team working towards agile maturity...

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is intuitive to use and comes with a vast selection of templates to start off the most inept of user. The templates are broken down into simple to complex mapping diagrams for ease of communicating to your audience. You also have a plethora of sharing features to give your audience/guests the correct permissions. I also like the emojis and the symbols that come packed within the app for ease of illustrating diagrams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are only available for certain plans, though the business package provides you with most of what you will need to get started.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used miro for agile ceremonies, in particular, retrospectives, mapping workshops and technology diagrams. Miro makes it easy to illustrate complex diagrams in an easy fashion and without fuss.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider implementation of miro within your organisation, so that permissions and access can be managed appropriately.

The end to end of a product planning including prototyping can be done in a big canvas.

What do you like best about the product?
Wireframe features, frame to help us make presentation slides quickly. I can do up my presentation, create wireframe and drive the discussion. It is a lot easier to use than mural.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some template like customer journey is quite difficult to use and when downloading the customer journey map which is long, the download become very pixelated and unpleasant
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration with different users to put in their inputs timely, miro is the best tool to help. The number of limited users and adding them to team actually slow down the process of quick collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is the simplest tool that enable you to collaborate seamlessly to one another!

effective tool for interactive workshops, in person, online or mixed

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
beyond all things in common with other similar platforms, I prefer MIRO for the possibility of connecting shapes and texts with 1-click arrows
another thing I like very much is the possibility to attach links and have a snapshot of the web page linked
What do you dislike about the product?
Instability on browser OPERA, so I use two browsers in my facilitated workshops, but perhaps it is a limit of that browser
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating causal or mind maps, organizing exercises and activities in interactive workshops, all these in an agile way
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The best tool for in-person and remote or mixed interactive workshops

The go to place to visualise your ideas

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of use. You have readily available templates, shapes, & a lot of other features to get you up & running with minimal training needs. You name it & you have it!
What do you dislike about the product?
The good thing about Miro is the infinite boards that it provides. However, these can sometimes get difficult to manage if you have put a lot of ideas over several sessions. Unless you manage them properly it can get overwhelming to find out what you had worked on previously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are many, but the most important for me is it helps to remove Chinese whispers. Without Miro it becomes difficult to convey to the team precisely on ideas you wish to discuss. Also, it has helped the teams I work with brainstorm better as they are able to visualise what each of them is talking about. And it's always there for the team to refer back to while discussing sequential features over weeks/months.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's an awesome tool to help you & your team collaborate even while sitting in the office.
