Best whiteboarding tool out there

  • May 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is a really fast and super collaborative whiteboarding tool. During the corona times, it made a really good contribution to our online collaboration. There're not many other products like Miro. I also like the plethora of features cleverly sprinkled around the UI. You'll be surprised by the amount of features you find in the product but they're never in your way. The UI nicely minimalist and customizable so you can adjust it to your needs. And it works in both app on your computer and in the browser.
This is simply a tool you want to use even if you don't have to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional crash or hiccup which could be accounted to massive user growth during the corona times, I guess. Nothing significant though. And if something like this happened, the support is clear and communicative and you can easily check the status of all miro services online.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use miro throughout the whole UX design projects - from taking the research notes when talking to participants, to ideation sessions with colleagues, zoom meetings with customers, running online workshops, to simple prototyping.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it, play with it and you will see whether it fits your use case. The plethora of templates and learning resources will help you along the way. The community is also very active so you can really find answers to your questions really quickly. Do not also be afraid of asking on twitter or elsewhere.

What do you like best about the product?
- great variety of board options (data flow diagrams, mindmaps, org charts, selective matrix, structuring tables )

- templates for the type of activity (meeting, brainstorm, 1-1, idea screening, feedback call sessions)

- collaborative editing and audio/video conferencing (it doesn't require the third-party audio/video conferencing tool for collaboration

- overall UI/UX (nice color combinations and intuitive design)

- different gestures depending on the input types

- almost all platforms and devices support
What do you dislike about the product?
- the drag-n-drop editor lagging

- selection misclicking

- the limitations of the Freemium version

- performance and bugs improvement on mobile and devices

- harder to create the custom template
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- workflow visualization

- it's a short and simple solution for presenting the complicated schemes over the ppt way

- sessions, user group meetings, lean coffees, and storyboarding going better on Google Meet call
(it's easy to a present and a lot of people staring at a screen.

- keeps people focused on the problem at hand

- organize the collaborative multitasking
( most of the team would like to play a part and be engaged in the process of ideas generating, screening and decision making)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I should definitely consider the purchase of the premium version of the service.
The workshops and Q&A sessions are going smoothly with:
- data flow diagrams,
- mindmaps,

Great tool for online team collaboration

  • May 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
-Ease of sharing and navigating the space
-Camera/screen follow of a particular user when they explain a specific object
-Adjustable scaling ensures any size of a complex schematic fits into the workspace
-collaboration is easy and effortless, with comments, to-do lists etc. to manage the communicaton and interaction with other team members
What do you dislike about the product?
-Running the Miro app and screen sharing can be CPU/GPU-intensive
-if you are prototyping website wireframes, there is no way to bring you wireframes to life
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having access to a digital whiteboard is essential for the productivity of a distributed team. As we work across three different timezones, Miro helped us tremendously in keeping our graphical assets, brainstorms, and flow diagrams organized, up to date, and shared with the relevant stakeholders.

Since we collaborate with an external development team, Miro helps us to convey concepts, share user flows, and adjust website structures with ease and speed not possible with more feature-rich and detailed platforms such as Figma or Invision.

An absolute must in your toolbox

  • May 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to set up and facilitate workshops. Miro is also very useful to secure ideas and work them out. What I love the most, is that you can create boards with all kinds of inspiration, canvases, plans of action, and so on, and share it with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Folders don't have a link (you can't link to folders) and you can't add (little) text documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organize workshops and secure ideas. For this last one, the ideas, the benefit is that you can place images, video's, PDF, bookmarkts and ideas on post-its all toghether. Too bad there is not a really good way to stoer advanced notes (for documentation).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It won't let your MacBook run wild (CPU and its cooling fans)

Great experience while collaborating within the team

  • May 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. I leverage Miro's pre-built template and drive inspiration to build my reusable templates.
2.Miro has a very intuitive, User Friendly UI/UX. This makes onboarding " a walk in the park," and one can start leveraging the collaboration benefits in no time.
3. There are different User experiences optimized with other gestures. A touchscreen will have different UX vs if u use a mouse or a touchpad, the tool will self adjust
4. Multiple users can work on the same board without much governance still the whole collaboration is very smooth
5. Everybody is used to physical interaction and whiteboarding. Now that it is almost impossible, Miro saves the day.
What do you dislike about the product?
A. There are suttle differences in the way once can access the tool in browser vs app. This causes user experience issues. I get confused when some of the shortcuts in the browser works differently in the app.
B. I think Miro is best used in a laptop, i feel constrained when using it in Mobile
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro for
A Brainshotming with the team
B. Mind mapping for Solution design
C. Preparing Storymap for Presentation
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Miro for the structuring of thought and collaborative planning. It is an ideal scenario if the organization uses the tool with a premium license. However, I recommend this took irrespective of the organizational dependency.
Freemium version can get u started pretty quickly, and the tool has enough potential to be converted into an enterprise-level tool

Simple and Perfect for Collaboration

  • May 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Right in the middle of the Covid outbreak we had to run remote discovery sessions with a client and set the scene for a huge software development project. Along came Miro to the rescue and completely changed the way we worked. Miro enabled us to map the entire application, create the wireframes, discuss and get realtime feedback from the client. It is so simple, colourful and friendly that we do not have to take time onboarding the clients to work with us in Miro. And the Wireframing library is such a timesaver. There's no going back now. We're hooked!
What do you dislike about the product?
Management of boards is a bit strenuous. Even though I'm the administrator, if the board was created by somebody else I cannot delete it even when we no longer need it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro has secured us freedom and time. Freedom by allowing us to collaborative at will from anywhere, anytime. Time for it enables us to carryout tasks which otherwise would have taken so much longer to get to the finish line.

Most of our brainstorming happens on Miro now. We get to map our thoughts and discuss them easily with the team scattered all over the place. Wireframing is a breeze and it definitely saves a us tons of time on that.

Remote collaboration pushed to the next level

  • May 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When I plan a workshop, I like to get inspiration from miro's templates. Sometimes I take a ready-made template directly, sometimes I rebuild an existing template so that it fits my questions.
For collaborative work miro offers great features. Creating multiple stickies at once is very useful and saves time. The voting function is also useful and well thought out. Very important for me is also the timeboxing feature, which we use in many meetings.
Another feature I really like to use are the grids. With these you can easily visualize some data in a short time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not a fan of how the tagging of stickies works. It's a bit tedious at times and using the tagging feature sometimes takes me out of the flow. I wish there were more applications that could be seamlessly integrated into Miro. At the top of my wish list would be Tableau. The display of Tabeal dashboards within Miro would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use miro daily as a product owner. For new projects, I create a miro board and collect all the information related to the project there. Miro is great for this because it can serve many use cases, such as prototyping, story mapping or roadmaps.
For the typical Scrum meetings, our team also uses miro, for example for the refinements and for the joint discussion of user stories. In these meetings it is important to be able to colloaborate on a topic in a simple way.
Miro is also used for team retrospectives. Miro is useful here because we do a lot of voting on different topics.
From my point of view, Miro is very well suited for the purposes of agile development teams for the reasons mentioned above.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
From my point of view, miro can do much more than a better digital whiteboard. It's worth looking at what others are doing with Miro. The templates are also a great source of inspiration.

What do you like best about the product?
1. A plethora of Intuitive pre-build templates to choose from.
2.Sharing and collaborating within the team is just as easy as pre-pandemic world where these activities were done physically on a whiteboard.
3. Very User friendly and intuitive UI/UX making onboarding very easy and quick
4. Ability to work in the same board at the same time and still make the whole activity user friendly
5. different gestures depending on the input types for example touchsreen will have different gestures vs a mouse or a touchpad will have different gestures
What do you dislike about the product?
I really like the product does not have anything to dislike but if I have to pick few
1. Freemium version does not have a private board
2. Version control of loading the previous version would add a superpower to the user. I once messed up my board by copying the same content thrice and had to spend three days deleting the overlapped extras.
3. It is not possible today , If I need to download the board in an export that can be loaded back directly in miro
4.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helps me get organized and structure thought.
It is immensely helpful in team collaboration
I am using miro for
1. Product Backlog planning prework before it goes into product board or Jira
2. Brainstorm within the team for Requirements tracing
3. Ideation for persuing potential features ideas
4. Qualitative research and affinity mapping to get the most prominent themes in the features
5. Gather Customer feedback
6. Prepare story board for presentations
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a team whose activities and success depends on thought leadership and collective conscience then this is the tool for success

creative ideas

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can modify anything at any time; it is not static like paper and pen.
Suitable for people with a lot of complex tasks and suitable for building your own model from templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The automatic numeric count isn't adapted to different languages such as Arabic and The high price for individual subscriptions or for 20 collaborators.
And the way to communicate with support seems difficult, it is supposed to be a live chat.
Unfortunately the private form is a paid feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It puts all ideas before your eyes and gives you a great experience for teamwork and organized work with your team members within the organization in which we work and thus will be positively reflected on the development of this institution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to learn all the features of this beautiful program, as it will make it easier for you to build your business and ideas easily.
