Great media monitoring tool

What do you like best about the product?
The media monitoring capabilities and keyword searches enable us to keep tabs on industry news and competitor coverage, as well as tracking our own media mentions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Semi-frequent technical issues/error messages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of how to stay educated and informed on the media landscape in our industry. We have also realized some media coverage through the outreach tool.

What do you like best about the product?
It's a great tool to consolidate tons of PR data into one spot without wasting time on a typical search engine.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to do a lot of legwork in a search to make it work for you in a helpful way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The newsletter design process is a little clunky. We've realized the daily alert system is a helpful way to start our day, though!

What do you like best about the product?
I like its ability to find the right news articles for our newsletter and the responsiveness to our feedback. I also enjoy when they check in to ensure we are satisfied with their service.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally slow to respond to questions, but not frequently enough to raise concerns. I would like to be able to download the dashboard data into excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to solve what opinion pieces we have put into the daily newsletter, and the benefits of being able to see the impact of the work we do within the news cycles.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It allows you to see the full range of your media impact and analyze areas that you need to improve your outreach on.

Cision is way better and has more contacts

What do you like best about the product?
It is cheaper than Cision. That is the only benefit I can think of.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater doesn’t have the same amount of contacts as Cision. Sometimes contacts are incorrect. They don’t have contacts from major publications. The UI is also confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater allowed me to find contacts I couldn’t find on Google or Twitter, when I could find them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Cision instead if you can afford it. If not, you can supplement by Google searches.

Sysomos was the first analytics tool i used as a fresher

What do you like best about the product?
Sysomos is a very simple tool, there is nothing hidden part in it, you have to simply put a query and other filters and you'll get the result. I started my career in analytics then i first used Sysomos as a tool and it helped me understand analytics more. Simplicity is its key point whereas there are too many filters which can extract exact data which we want, Data visualization is also good which includes word cloud, demographics. Analytics metrics visualization is also far better than other tools, we can easily find out everything on Sysomos.
What do you dislike about the product?
First of all data extraction limit is low, means we can only extract a limited data. Sometimes it malfunctions like the wrong date of data or sometimes data missing, so Sysomos have to work on it. Server down problem is very common with Sysomos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualization become easy and Hashtag analysis use to be a major problem but Sysomos resolved it efficiently. As it is very easy to use one can add multiple things in there reports like demographics analysis, word cloud analysis, heat points, device compatibilty. In short it is rich with many data information
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are new to analytics then its a perfect tool and its cheap enough for a medium and small industry so one can use it , it is very easy to use and meet all requirement. It's data visualization is far better than other tools

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Meltwater shows daily dashboards. It really helps us measure where our posts and emails are making the biggest impact. I also really love the daily alerts, so we are able to keep up with all of the news going on in our area. With our plan, we are able to email up to 1,000 people per day, which allows us to reach huge numbers of people. It is directly because of Meltwater email blasts that we have been able to secure local business and stories.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think the software is 100% user-friendly. Some of the features are confusing to me and despite having gone through training, I still find them to be a bit complicated. I wish finding certain contacts was easier, as I had to contact support twice for the same issue. Experiences with support was 50/50. The first girl I spoke with wasn't very helpful and seemed to be disinterested in the issue, which I can't fault her for but the second girl was very friendly and took care of my issue within minutes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Meltwater, we are reaching huge audiences. I love the email results, so we know who and where our emails are reaching. The dashboards also help with that. I find it essential to know what kind of results we are getting so we're not beating a dead horse, so to say. I think Meltwater is great for reaching a bunch of people in a quick amount of time. I like the preview feature.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely a product looking into. Make sure you fully understand how the different features work before buying.

What do you like best about the product?
The program is useful in that it helps you to narrow down your list of recipients to a very specific group of people, rather than emailing everyone on your contact list every time you send out a press release. You can target media members, for instance, according to their location, media channel, beat, role, distribution frequency, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The overall platform is just very disorganized, in my opinion. The way everything is set up and laid out is confusing and can make it difficult to find what you're looking for. Also, the media monitoring feature does not always pick up every story (you're often better off just using Google Alerts), and the PR distribution tool severely limits the size of emails, which is a problem when you're trying to send out a press release with supplemental photos. I've had to resort to copying and pasting photos into the email body just to make sure they get sent, and have received complaints from recipients who would prefer they were attached.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Part of my job involves tracking the social media impressions my company generates. While most social media sites offer analytics reports of how many impressions your content generates, they rarely provide the impressions outside parties generate for you by tagging in their content. Meltwater makes it possible to obtain those numbers, which is incredibly beneficial, and I wish social media sites would start including them in their own reporting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This was my first time using a program like Meltwater, so I can't accurately compare it to other similar platforms, but I will say that my organization has decided to start using a different one as we weren't thrilled with our Meltwater experience.

What do you like best about the product?
Excellent customer support.
Influencer feature allows us to maintain up to date lists and a straightforward portal to distribute media releases.
Newsletter function is a no-fuss tool for media reporting.
App is also handy for real time alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The media release template is a little rigid and doesn't allow for much personalisation.
You need to keep an eye on stories that may be missed.

The newsletter function simplifies media reporting meaning I can collate top-line reports with just a few clicks.
