Bacula Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I like most the baculam in which we can verify the backup through bacula gui.
What do you dislike about the product?
we cannot add the job via baculam.baculam is used only for monitoring the existing jobs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
initially i face the issue in adding the job but its very simple to use.
Reliable and cost effective with upgrades
What do you like best about the product?
Open source tool.
As an enterprise architect i suggest the tool for customers who can go for low cost and best effective solution. i like the support for latest databases like PostGRE etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
Need more patches supports all cloud environments. AWS is not only cloud we have AZURE,GCP and Alibaba cloud growing faster
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Online database backups should be added and improved.
larger size database backups are bit slow and cross the schedule time and halt other backups.

Bacula review
What do you like best about the product?
Bacula is really awesome. It's relatively quick to backup things and I like the backups based on jobs. The compression is okayish. I like the storing as binary and choosing the volumes also it's nice that you guys made a small php dashboard for it
What do you dislike about the product?
Well the fact that it doesnt have an API is problematic. So I had to develop my own api to use bacula. The learning curve is quite high. I spent like 3 weeks full time to understand it well but once you master it it's really cool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well currently I am not working with bacula. I stopped last year as I moved to a new company. But I remember that before I set it up we used to do rsync everywhere for backups. With bacula the backup and restore are way better also I loved the fact the the storage server and the bacula server were separate so I could do a datacebter migration really efficiently by first only creating one storage server in the new dc and then add some vms to the new dc and still keep the same bacula server on the old dc orchestrating everything
Bacula Enterprise usage
What do you like best about the product?
Restore and backup procedure is easy. For a new user it is easy to learn. Also it is helpful in on demand backups.
What do you dislike about the product?
We need to use Baculum another configuration for GUI access, better CLI and GUI comes integrated in single package.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are taking backups of DC, this has been helpful
Bacula Enterprise edition Backup software
What do you like best about the product?
I like it because it's very extensible and can be used for customizing a mid-level enterprise. The File daemon once setup just runs smoothly without hassles.Everything we need is available on web platform on Bweb management console. There's also option for Baculum support. I personally like because it's feature includes Bare-metal backup VM Backup DB backup Cloud Backup Tape Backup Replication using Wan and Restoration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Enterprise edition is quite advantageous than the Community edition. Even though the trial version gives you all access to try Enterprise Edition version 8 features, VSS plugin, BWeb Management Suite etc. It'll make you want to buy for service unlike Bare-os which started initially as a fork of Bacula is being considered as a better alternative to Enterprise edition
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Frequent bugs in the interface, support is good but try to solve every issue in a general way possible eventhough situations may differ.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
BareOS is a useful recommendation for anyone willing to try a free full version open source backup solution
