Performant db even in low resources

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Scylladb performs best, even under very low resources with very little TCO.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is relatively new, so has not much support for all languages like, PHP. Learning curve is also higher for the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it specifically for our needs to serve high throughput writes.

Best database for high data volume realtime applications

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to migrate from Cassandra and get a high improvement in application performance.
Easy steps for management of backup and disaster-recovery of database.
What do you dislike about the product?
In comparision to its peers, I do not see any major drawbacks in ScyllaDB.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very low latency is the most important metric in realtime healthcare applications and ScyllaDB helps the most ij achieving the required low latency numbers.

ScyllaDB: the new age nosql and better replacement of Cassandra.

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lightweight and fast as it's built on C++
Way better than Cassandra (that we previously used). Low latency and high throughput as compared to Cassandra.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data export can be improvised.
The cost is a bit high, especially the yearly one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Scylla for our alerting service, where we persist our subscription-related data and other domain related data.
Previously we are storing these in Cassandra, and during the scaling, we are facing issues when the load is very high at times.
With Scylla, we were able to take care of latency problems and scale out the service during peak hours.

Started Scylla as an better alternative to Cassandra database

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that Scylla is based on C instead of Java makes better utilisation of the underlying resources. No hassle of handling the JVM. Also Performance scales as we scale the cluster.
What do you dislike about the product?
The installation process could be bit complex for new users as the steps are not clear. The installation process be a bit more simplified for bare minimum installations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using Cassandra as my primary database for the application requirement, which worked great since long time. Recently we needed to add a huge amount of historical data to the cluster which increased the cluster size too much due to the data soft limit per node, so migrating to Scylladb is a better option that doesn't require scaling as frequent as Cassandra do. Also with more request per second and more amount of data ScyllaDB is giving better performance.

Fast, available, efficient NoSQL storage with excellent support

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Compared to other options, you can get a lot of performance out of relatively low-spec hardware. Since ScyllaDB is written in C++, it is much more performant than other solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Much of the tooling is legacy Cassandra tooling. I don't want to have to install a JRE just to run nodetool. It's possible that this is already resolved, as I haven't checked in with my ScyllaDB reps in a while.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a product to store large volumes of data from our infrastructure. ScyllaDB is efficient, has lower hardware requirements, and has great enterprise support.

A robust real-time Nosql DB supporting lightweight transactions

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We chose ScyllaDB over Redis because of the Lightweight transactions it supports. Being able to update partitions was a necessity for us. Also, university.scylladb.com has good resources for getting started for a new user.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no tools for bulk importing and exporting of the data. We have to build and maintain our custom applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use ScyllaDB for caching the session state of user sessions on our gaming apps. With each time interval or stage the users advance to, we have to read the state, take decisions and then update the state within a few milliseconds. We also use this key-value store for finding out highly active users, users who are dormant and users who are stuck at any stage for long time. With our confidence growing in ScyllaDB, we are planning to build many other use cases around the database.

ScyllaDB is the most trusted database unlike MongoDB or others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, ScyllaDB is excellent to be used by the users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The security problem which benefiting me very much.

Use of ScyllaDB at Triton Digital

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have been delighted with ScyllaDB's support and help in migrating from on-premise Cassandra to ScyllaDB. We use ScyllaDB to store billions of lines of information; the latency is excellent for read times. When encountering scaling issues, ScyllaDB's support has been exceptional and very helpful in reducing costs for the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
The most significant point which I think I dislike the most is how long downscaling or upscaling clusters takes. Our use case for ScyllaDB does not require very quick scaling however the costs add up when waiting for the clusters to downscale or upscale.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are storing mass amounts of Unique IDs mapped with information; we use this database to store the mapping between both. We run ETLs that write to Scylla and use the written data to enrich our requests.

Performance Champion with simplicity

  • February 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The performance of ScyllaDB is one of its key advantages. It is the perfect option for applications that demand real-time data processing because it is built to handle massive amounts of data with extremely low latencies. ScyllaDB can manage expanding data demands without suffering from performance deterioration because it is very scalable.

The fault-tolerance of ScyllaDB is another important aspect. Data is replicated across numerous nodes since it is meant to operate in a distributed context. This minimises any potential downtime by ensuring that even if one node fails, the data may still be accessed from other nodes.

ScyllaDB is also simple to use and incorporate into existing applications. It supports a range of programming languages and has a number of integrations with other
What do you dislike about the product?
ScyllaDB can be more sophisticated than some other NoSQL databases, despite the fact that it is intended to be simple to use and integrate into current applications. The technical knowledge needed to deploy and configure it could be a hurdle for some enterprises.ScyllaDB is designed to handle only a few types of data, including time-series data and key-value data. Although it can manage different forms of data, it might not be the greatest option for applications that call for more intricate data models.ScyllaDB is a newer database, so it's possible that it has a less developed ecosystem than some other databases. This implies that compared to more established databases, ScyllaDB may have fewer resources, tools, and third-party connectors available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major problem which scylladb is solving is performance, which includes low latency and high throughput. Our systems relies on performant databases and scylladb definitely helps out in this case.
