Jira is life
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a great agile infrastructure. It enables my team to provide full requirements to our product and tech teams to implement changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a lot of manual work in order to customize jira infrastructure. Such as screen, screen scheme and issue screen scheme.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use jira to track operational trends/ bugs/ etc. and to create predictive resource models
Jira is so user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
It's fairly intuitive. I'm so busy and can be resistant to software that takes too much time to figure out. Jira is easy to use, and it's a great way to keep all your relevant information in one place. I can attach documents, links, etc so other team members can easily find the information they need. I like the kanban board feature, it's a nice visual dashboard of different ongoing projects, as well as a place to find information on previous projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There really isn't anything I dislike about it. It's easy to use and user-friendly. It doesn't take a long time to edit or update. It's a helpful tool to help keep track of what other team members are working on, and find their results/data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps my team stay organized. Previously we had documents in several different places, Jira gives us a way to link the different locations and stay up to date on progress. It serves as a sort of dashboard for our team. It helps people stay on track and on schedule. We've also strted using Jira to track IT and software issues. You can create tasks, include relevant details, and then mark tasks as completed or ongoing. It helps people to stay in the loop without having to constantly reach out to individuals.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The kanban board feature is a great dashboard for teams. It's a great way to keep our project manager updated on our individual tasks and link relevant data. It can be used as a central location where you can attach documents, links, data, updates, and other related information for other team members to see. It's useful for keeping track of individual projects and helpful for keeping people on schedule.
Manage global teams and projects
What do you like best about the product?
Amount of features, capabilities, and uses.
What do you dislike about the product?
requirement of using same server/VPN makes it slow
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
work aligned in global teams with visibility and project tracking
Jira ignores users
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is adequate at managing issues once you get a grasp of their workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The complete disregard for end users. Just take a look at this support ticket that has hundreds of requests for an option to disable their "smart links" feature: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-72429
This is the most annoying feature in any software I've ever used, hundreds of other users agree, and Jira is just completely ignoring it.
This is the most annoying feature in any software I've ever used, hundreds of other users agree, and Jira is just completely ignoring it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira to manage our software projects.
Comprehensive solution for managing software development projects
What do you like best about the product?
Super configurable and once you get the hang of it very straightforward to use. Multiple projects, views, dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be slow and cumbersome and does take time to get up to speed!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking issues. Managing the flow of tasks using either a Kanban or Sprint based approach. Managing several projects and dashboards.
Great for communication across teams
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Jira offers features such as tagging and emoji reactions. This makes communication very easy across teams, even those that aren't technical in nature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it can look a little messy when linking issues or tasks with each other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This product helps our teams communicate more clearly. We definitely benefit from the Zendesk and Slack integrations.
Jira for Process Management
What do you like best about the product?
Jira has made process management much easier for our company. Things fall through the cracks less and it makes it easier to see who is accountable for which items.
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be some more productive elements as to who can say a process is complete/incomplete. As of right now I can go in assign something to myself and right complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to help coordinate across teams and make sure that all items are signed off by the correct person. It is helping with small items not falling though the cracks.
Good for some orgs - bad for marketing and design
What do you like best about the product?
Jira has a useful ticketing system that many project management softwares don't have. That is it's primary use case - but isn't useful for all functions. Beyond ticketing I don't think there are differentiators.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is complicated to use, hard to explain, has difficult permissioning, and inflexible. It does not work well beyond for software issues, in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my experience, the effective ticketing system is the only true benefit of Jura. Everything else can be done better through other project management softwares.
Can't believe someone else hasn't beat out these guys for SCRUM and AGILE
What do you like best about the product?
Good record of items. Nothing else. It's a terrible tool in general with not much to like.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pretty much everything. I hate that there are so many levels of permissions to do basically anything at all; you need to contact your administrator. JIRA ignores user feature requests. I have one that I recently upvoted that has been "gathering interest" for over 17 years. It's an essential feature that they've FAILED to implement because they simply do not make enhancements that matter to their product any longer. It's crazy to me that there isn't a strong enough competitor to improve what they're doing, which isn't much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like everyone else, managing Kanban and SCRUM boards and their workflows.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't.
Best Bug Tracking Tool in Business
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about JIRA is the customized dashboards. I just love how everyone can have their own dashboards with the widgets of their choice, it is super helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about the current version of JIRA is that to edit a ticker in JIRA, you have to edit individual fields separately, whereas in the previous version there was an option to edit the entire ticket at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use JIRA for story writing, bug tracking, tasks management, design docs, etc. There are multiple benefits like people of the same team can have discussions via comments on the story/bug tickets.
