Jira, Great Bug Tracking Software

  • October 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira provides bug tracking and project management software with a relatively small learning curve. Setting up epics, stories, and tasks is easy, and the software has a lot of depth if you begin to play with sprints, different boards, and swim lanes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Finding old/closed tickets to reference can sometimes be frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira both for bug tracking and application update and upgrade tracking. We utilize one board but have multiple epics to associate stories or tasks with a specific application. Having everything in one view is great. It's also helpful for organizing bi-weekly sprints and tracking work completion.

Project creation, including the tasks per project. It can be integrated with other software like slack and github,
Recommendations to others considering the product:

Jira enables better management of software projects.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jiras scrum board is an important aspect of my software project management experience at work, and it is what I cherish the most about Jira. This very important Jira feature has made collaboration between all project stakeholders, a lot more effective .
Thus, making it easier for everyone to unite around a single project end-goal, and achieve expected outcomes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I will like to see Jira integrate better with Trello. The current integration between Jira and Trello is clumsy at best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Jira as an important project tracking and management tool. Our use of Jira has made it easier to address important aspects of software project management ,such as task distribution, project tracking and iteration, thereby allowing us to accomplish our milestones faster.

Jira is only as good as the users of it

  • October 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it doesn't require a ton of fields completed to submit an issue.

I like how the app works well as a web app. I often access it as a standalone web app via Microsoft Edge's "Edge Apps" functionality, so Jira shows up as a desktop-like app on both my Mac and Windows PC.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't particularly appreciate that many users appear not to be alerted to critical issues well enough to follow up on the tickets. This crtisism may not be a core Jira issue, but more of a user issue; none the less your experience with this product will be good or bad based on how well the users monitor problems and respond promptly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issue tracking for a B2B eCommerce platform. I've coordinated the redesign of an internal demo site via submitting issues and requests with Jira.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you have an internal culture that supports active communication and follow-up.
