Maybe not the best product tool, but one that most people are familiar with - a common denominator
What do you like best about the product?
I love that most people are familiar with Jira - developers, designers, and product people are all generally familiar with the tool and there isn't a high learning curve
What do you dislike about the product?
There are several versions of Jira that aren't clearly outlined and delineated - it can get confusing if your business uses multiple instances of Jira, which often require different permissions. Jira also has a tendency to crash often, which can be frustrating
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a product manager, I use Jira every day, on every product I am working on. It's a helpful tool to create and track features with your development team.
Efficient Sprint goals, features, artefacts and tools
What do you like best about the product?
Best part about JIRA is its agile-opinionated consistency, which makes it extremely easy for teams aiming to, or using Agile, to take up. Tasks, subtasks are easy to create, update and manage, labels and workflows customizable, and the UI productivity-inducing. Its rich ecosystem of marketplace plugins allows one to add further functionality such as calendars. JIRA is extremely easy to integrate with other applications like Slack, Teams etc and boasts of a notification system that'll ensure you never miss out on updates
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA lacks customizability, especially when comparing to its more modern counterparts like Notion. While JIRA has limited its offerings to teams that adhere strictly to agile methods, often time, there's need to customize, which is missing. JIRA's mobile app could also use some better UX
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA is an efficient tool to manage and maintain agile projects. It ensures time tracking, labelling, customizable workflows and a variety of add ons. It is best applicable for teams that either follow agile practices religiously, or intend to enforce the same on their teams, such as development teams. It can be optionally used for managing other projects, although customizability is a little limited as opposed to other apps like Notion
Started as an issue tracking system and it shows
What do you like best about the product?
Very customizable, has lots of available features, and can be extended with a lot of available plugins. Also quite a lot of integrations with external tools such as Miro or Mural.
JQL is also a great language and helps a lot for finding issues and extrating information
JQL is also a great language and helps a lot for finding issues and extrating information
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira started its life as an issue tracking system, and it shows. Although it's now the standard in a lot of companies for Agile development, it has several shortcomings that promote team anti-patterns. One of them is that an issue can only be allocated to one person.
Another major drawback is the extraction of data from Jira. It's a real nightmare unless you have an additional plugin. The export to csv or excel is of very limited use.
And the pricing model, especially for the plugins, is far from perfect. You need to pay a licence for every user even if that plugin is going to be used only by 2 or 3 people. When you have hundreds or thousands of users, this makes several it impracticale.
Also, the UX is somewhat inconsistent, especially in the administration part

An app that provides full fledged visibility
What do you like best about the product?
I love how it makes project development and management easier and provides visibility to everyone involved in the project with it's variety of options. It also has user manuals for all of its functionalities that helps a newbie adapt quickly to it's ecosystem
What do you dislike about the product?
Having said that, i still do not like how i felt the first time i started using Jira. It looks so complex and you feel completely lost in a far unknown galaxy. The UI and the terms are completely new and without proper initial preparation by going through the atlassian blogs or useful videos that teach what is what, it's almost impossible to use. I'm new to Jira and still learning new things daily.

Jira for Agile Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Jira does the simple things better. As a developer, viewing the current sprint's scrum board is where I spend most of my time. It is a good view of the assigned stories/tasks for the sprint and I can also see what others on the team are working on so I have awareness of all the ongoing work on the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Jira website itself is sometimes laggy and slow to respond. The complexity for advanced things (project configuration for state transitions, for example) is off the charts. Sometimes when you drag a task on the storyboard to a new state, Jira will reject it, and you have to do it a second time for no apparent reason.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira for simple project management and issue tracking. The benefits are ease of tracking work across the developers in the project and maintaining a backlog of future work to analyze.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When using Jira, don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. A simple project flow works for 99% of projects. Overly complex state transitions can cause issues.
