Amazing tool in project management

  • December 05, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Jira heavily every day to manage tasks and issues. It has amazing capabilities to see overall progress or create burndown charts. You can even customize the fields on tasks/issues There is the capability to assign yourself as watchers to see the tasks assigned to others.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jira is great for managing tasks and workloads, it's not really a suitable place for documentation. I do like the description field though where you can write brief descriptions. Also, you are required to write queries to search for tickets/tasks which is not as intuitive. This can be improved by generating queries for clients using a few customizations. Although, sometimes it does work well for searching particular types of issues with correct filters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using this for project management. We create epics for stories and during refinement, we create tasks related to those stories. It works well with our agile methodology.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the best software for Agile project management task. It is used to keep track the status for all the user stories committed in the sprint and can also update the status when it get changes
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think it has some disadvantages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helped lot in the projects for smooth release in each sprint. As we can see the status of each story, helpful what is dependent for not picked stories in the sprint

Solid project management software

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is probably one of the most comment project management software, so almost everyone is familiar with it, which makes it easy for new employees to "dive in". The software is also very flexible for customizing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Jira is super flexible and can be configured to almost any need, the configuration itself is extremely not user-friendly. Every time I need to make a change, I find myself "battling" with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira in order to manage our software development. This means that the Product team inserts their features and prioritizes the roadmap, and the R&D team is using it for tasks and bugs in order to execute it. More groups are using it as well - Graphics, CSM, Support, etc.

Jira review - integrations are key

  • December 02, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
Jira integrates with almost anything which is exactly why I like it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not a fan of its "clunkiness" and its pricing structure, but...its the "pick 2 of 3, but you cant have all three"
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira in a multitude of cases. My team uses it mostly as a front end to our self-service portal and automation orchestrator

Excellent Collaboration and Management Tool

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create to-do lists for the team, organized by category, that allows us to work towards a common goal. Sharing the board with executives, or clients, is also an easy way for them to be involved and receive status reports, while the team can continue to focus on the task at hand instead of reporting on tasks completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is still somewhat of a self-contained environment. I would prefer greater interoperability with Office365 (specifically Teams) instead of relying on e-mail notifications to team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize Jira to enable our Agile Teams to come together as needed for specific tasks. We have dedicated Scrum Masters to manage our Jira boards, to ensure alignment of purpose. Scrums are used daily to discuss tasks to pursue and actions to be taken regarding blockers.

One of the best tool for agile software management.

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using JIRA for a very long time, one of the most important aspects is, its user-friendly UI. It is a great platform for managing software development phases on the engineering level. Users have the flexibility for creating both Kanban and Scrum boards. It also helps in creating various issue tickets and in bug tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing much I dislike about JIRA but one of its downsides is, its pricing model is based upon how many users are using it. Ideally, it should be a one-time purchase for an organization level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use JIRA on a daily basis for tracking our development, one of its main features, the comment section of a particular ticket, it easier to build a storyline so that a user can scope out a ticket easily. It has great plugin support. It makes it easier to track code commits and branches using its plugin service.

Lots of functionality, but not very intuitive.

What do you like best about the product?
There's a ton you can do. We mainly use it to track feature requests and bugs, but you can also see things like workflows, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not intuitive. Lots of fields to fill out, the search functionality is awful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bug development and tracking. We can see where things are in the process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just be aware there's a learning curve.

That I can personalize my comments, attach images and how quickly I receive my notifications

Web development tickets assignment

Great task management but need some UI enhancement

  • December 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a great central place for setting up tasks and tracking the progress by different teams. Easily to find the person who is responsible and time has been spent
What do you dislike about the product?
If one task needs to worked by several different people, there is no way in one single task they can log their time separately, individual tasks have to be created
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being a customer support specialist, we use JIRA to assign and track the customer-reported issues that need to be handled by the engineering team. We found it's easy to use JIRA for this purpose
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Should set up a workflow for people to use JIRA so tasks can be more easily managed

What do you like best about the product?
I like best superb usability and wast choice of added reports, nice color palette, and vast integration opportunities to 3-d party tools. Used it for projects milestones tracking, time spent, and report creation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I guess the employer must have some indication. If the employed person also uses external projects related to another employer: the user should grant the right at the time of onboarding for a current employer to see which external projects he participates in, probably GIT integrated to track commits. The problem is if we employ a person for full-time equivalent and he has external hustles at the time, for part-timers, such engagement is acceptable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time tracking tool and project resource planning. It is a cost-neutral product, but it benefits with wide tools eligible for use in one place. Visibility positively impacts the business process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Recommend with no reservations
