Good defect management software
What do you like best about the product?
Access to both developers and QAs for the bugs. Makes easy to follow up and keep tracking of the defects seemlessly
What do you dislike about the product?
UI seems a bit confusing. Filtering is not so good feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Defect management, bug tracking, good for agile methodologies.
Jira - One of the best in class defect tracking and project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Atlassian Jira is one of the best PM tool I have come across in my corporate life. I have been working with 2 different companies and both are using Jira as their defect tracking tools. The UI is simple, it comes with project creation, various types of issues can be raised, various types of boards, plan test cycles, managing test cases, generates reports, traceability, and lots more. The thing which I like most is it supports various plugins to add and makes it more robust. Like we are using the Jira Zephyr plugin for test case management. It helps the QA team not only log issues but also executes and manages Test cases from the same platform. Easy import and export of records from the tool is also a bonus. It provides various boards such as Kanban, Agile, etc for a better understanding of the progress, tracking backlogs, tracking sprints of the project. Moreover, it also allows users to create custom workflows, design forms, design personalized screens, add various fields in the forms as per business requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like almost everything about Jira. Nothing to dislike. The application is super flexible and can be configured easily as per the needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization uses this platform for tracking defects against the requirements, managing the projects end to end traceability, managing sprints, assigning tasks to different people, execute test cases, and much more. Task and sub-task creation are super easy against any defect and assigning them. Its easy to access, and people who are assigned the task get a mail immediately. So, it's easy to track and get notified in the first place. For managers also the dashboard and board creation help them to have a better glimpse of the progress of the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will recommend to every working professionals to use Jira for enhancing the progress of the business. Jira has a huge community and its support is pretty good and responsive. You can design layouts as per your business needs. You can also create custom entities, fields, workflows, design templates for your personalized project. Even the documentation of its usage is also present in the UI itself. It's self-explanatory.
The best Project management tool ever
What do you like best about the product?
Solving complex issues with intense and fast-changing conditions, the management tool has the best way to organize and create streams allowing everyone to do their job without getting lost.
I love the idea that multiple projects can be added without getting mixed; tags to search are just awesome
I love the idea that multiple projects can be added without getting mixed; tags to search are just awesome
What do you dislike about the product?
It needs a new UI. It looks a little outdated visually. does a great job , it just needs to be modernized
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
management, writing tickets, And managing multiple projects . Bug tracking with Tags make it so much simpler for Testers , Dev Team and for the manager to track and keep everything clean .
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please don't contemplate if you would be able to integrate a multiplatform tool. And a widespread and easy-to-use tool.
Great for task tracking.
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a fantastic software for agile teams and task management. It's very simple to use and extremely user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira works exactly like I'd want it to. If there is something to improve on, I've yet to find it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira as a task management or task tracking platform to manage our backlog of user stories and tasks.
Great Developer Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Jira has empowered our scrum leader as well as product owners to timebox sprints and increase rollout frequency.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with other Atlassian software, the search tools are not great. Unless you are the creator or a watch of an issue, finding specific tasks or issues can be difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira as our primary escalation and project management software. It has been tremendously beneficial and quickly learned and implemented by senior and junior employees alike.
Integration - Matching requirements to test cases
What do you like best about the product?
I love the integration factor between Jira and qTest and the working boards we use to plan out our sprints and show work progress along the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The administration process and options can be a bit overwhelming until you figure out what is important to the work you are doing. The mobile interface is lackluster at this point as well, which is one of the reasons we primarily use the tool through desktops.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving a problem of exposure to criteria, progress and issues. Qtest licenses can be expensive so not everyone on our team has one. This limits the visibility of those people. With Jira's integration, we can write requirements in Jira, export them to qTest and then track all of the testing in Jira stories so that everyone has full visibility to work progress. Now senior leaders can see progress overviews without having to have access or dig deep into other tools.

Jira from a homegrown tool
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility. Being able to configure custom fields to support internal processes, custom filters at the individual user level to support how each person works, and the easy issue search with query builder assist allows us to work more efficiently and effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the moment you cannot assign multiple users to the same issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With our homegrown tool, while highly customized to our specific process, reports were canned and users were not able to easily create custom queries and changes to the tool were few and far between because we wanted our dev resources focused on enhancing our core product - not an internal tracking tool. Jira has given users more flexibility and freedom, making them more efficient. It's also helped to increase visibility for management to see the amount of work the team is handling, and identify bottlenecks in our process that we're now working to resolve.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Leverage the Atlassian training guides and videos - they're great for a quick answer, learning new ways to approach certain types of work etc.
