Effective Managed File Transfer with Room for Customization
What do you like best about the product?
We currently use GoAnywhereMFT as our primary solution for the secure and automated transfer of programmatically generated date within our environment. One of the mots valuable feature is the Secure Forms capability which provides a reliable and easy to use method for external parties to submit files to use in a controlled and encrypted manner. The flexibility to support a variety of protocols has been instrumental in enabling seamless integration across diverse systems. The ability to centrally manage all of our SFTP connections has significantly streamlined administration and improved overall operational efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Probably the only thing I could think of that would be a better solution would be more flexibility in the secure forms creation that we can add some more customization or possibly utilize external authentication sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use GoAnywhere MFT for managed file transfers and secure file submission. It connects through various protocols to different sources and manages all our SFTP connections, scheduling connectivity and automating tasks.
Reliable Automation with Room for Integration Enhancement
What do you like best about the product?
I like GoAnywhere MFT for its automation capability. It significantly reduces manual intervention by scheduling job monitoring and file transfers. The user interface is great, simple, and easy to understand, making it accessible for new joiners. I also find it straightforward to connect to different protocols like AES, HTTPS, and SFTP. Overall, it's a very reliable platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
In GoAnywhere, I can say there is one thing that I wanted to improve: the PGP encryption key. We do not find where it is used. So we import the PGP encryption key and GoAnywhere, and we don't have any option like in which projects it is used. Also, enhance the real-time analytics; that would be a much better feature. API management—like, I do not see many projects having much better API integration over there. As we are working more with a hybrid cloud environment, flexible API management would add good value to it. Improvement in usability, vulnerable monitoring, and modern indication would make the platform even stronger. And one thing I would like to add as well is the AI integrations, as we are moving in a world full of AI agents, I would like to see GoAnywhere having AI agents which we can interact with. Also, the initial setup was not quite easy for our team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use GoAnywhere MFT for automating payments and HRMS processes, reducing manual work, and ensuring secure, efficient file transfers. It enhances operational efficiency, supports compliance with encryption and audit tracking, and simplifies connections to various protocols.
Automation has streamlined secure data workflows and now supports reliable audit tracking
What is our primary use case?
Our main use case for GoAnywhere MFT is secure automated file transfer and workflow management for large and mapping data assets across internal teams and external partners. At HERE Technology, we work with spatial data that needs to be transferred securely and consistently between processing environments, analytics teams, and vendor systems. GoAnywhere MFT helps to automate these transfers while maintaining visibility, audit tracking, and schedule control.
One specific example involves automating the transfer of validated road network and map update datasets from our internal processing environment to downstream analytical and quality assurance systems.
Handling large-volume geospatial datasets that require reliable and secure delivery across multiple operational workflows is particularly important for our team. Since mapping and spatial data processing can involve continuous updates, we rely heavily on automation and scheduling to avoid delays in downstream systems. Day-to-day, GoAnywhere MFT is mainly used for monitoring scheduled transfers, validating successful job execution, logging secure integration, tracking audit logs, and troubleshooting transfer-related issues. The centralized dashboard and workflow visibility are especially useful for operational monitoring.
What is most valuable?
The best features that GoAnywhere MFT offers are that it is focused on reliable file transfer.
The features that stand out the most with GoAnywhere MFT are workflow automation, centralized monitoring, secure file transfer support, and detailed audit logging. From an operational perspective, the automation capabilities are probably the most valuable feature for our team. We use scheduled workflows and event-based triggers for recurring file transfers, which especially reduces manual intervention and improves consistency. This is especially useful when handling large geospatial datasets and recurring data chain processes.
Another strong feature is the centralized management interface. Having visibility into transfer job status and logs in a single dashboard makes day-to-day monitoring much easier for our operational team. The workflow tracking and audit trails are also very useful for troubleshooting and compliance-related reporting.
What needs improvement?
GoAnywhere MFT is a strong platform overall, but there are a few areas where the product could still improve. One area for improvement would be enhanced reporting and analytical capabilities. The platform provides solid audit logging and monitoring, but more advanced visualizations, customizable reporting dashboards, and deeper operational analytics would help teams analyze transfer performance and troubleshoot issues faster in large enterprise environments.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
GoAnywhere MFT is stable. We have not experienced any downtime or reliability issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
GoAnywhere MFT has scaled well in our environment.
What was our ROI?
Overall, we have seen a positive return on investment for using GoAnywhere MFT through operational efficiency, reduced manual effort, and improved reliability for recurring file transfer workflows. One of the biggest benefits was time savings from automation. Before standardizing transfers through GoAnywhere MFT, some workflows required manual monitoring, scripting maintenance, and validation checks. After implementing automated scheduled workflows and centralized monitoring, the amount of manual intervention required to manage transfers decreased noticeably.
We also saw an improvement in transfer reliability and fewer operational issues related to failed or delayed transfers because monitoring, notifications, and tracking became centralized.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Our experience with the pricing of the solution has been generally positive. The platform is suitable for small to large-sized organizations. The license model was flexible because an organization can license additional capabilities based on their specific requirements. For setup and implementation, standard planning and configuration effort was required.
What other advice do I have?
I would advise others considering GoAnywhere MFT to first thoroughly assess their file transfer workflows, integration requirements, security policies, and operational goals before implementation. The platform delivers the most value when it is used not just as a simple file transfer tool, but as a centralized managed file transfer and workflow automation solution.
Another strength for GoAnywhere MFT is the support for secure protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, and AS2. This simplifies secure integration with external vendor and partner systems. We also found the encryption and security controls useful for protecting sensitive data transfers.
GoAnywhere MFT delivers strong automation, security, and reliability for enterprise file transfer operations, but there are still some areas where the overall experience could be improved. The platform performs very well when it comes to secure managed file transfers, workflow automation, scheduling, centralized monitoring, and audit logging. These capabilities have improved operational efficiency and reduced manual effort. The areas for improvement are mainly related to usability and administrative complexity. I rate GoAnywhere MFT an 8 out of 10.
