Powerful Accounting Features, But Support Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I understand the back end tables like GLDETAIL, APBILL, and GLACCOUNTBALANCE. It's also easy to navigate, which makes it easier to create custom reports if needed or leverage software like Tableau or Velixo.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've been waiting for this question. I have a huge issue with Sage support. I submit a number of tickets and they rarely get resolved. The typical Intacct customer service response is formulaic. They more often than not steer you towards articles that you have to read. These articles do not help. Customer support is the biggest thing. If you have a good support team, you can accomplish anything you need. Sage is limited and they won't let you do anything without paying for it. It's hard to get anyone on the phone to workshop issues or ideas without paying money. Account Managers aren't equipped with the knowledge to resolve issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct helps maintain our ledgers and record AP bills, cash, and accounting entries all in the same place.
Streamlined Consolidation, Needs Workflow Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like the intercompany feature at top level and the consolidation of the supplier and customers. The supplier consolidation highlights any duplicate invoices at both head office and academy level. It also gives us extra security regarding bank changes, as only admin users can change them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I struggle with the purchasing workflow. If someone is off sick or on holiday leave, it's very manual to change the PO approver department, rather than being able to put them on 'holiday' and getting it to go to someone else. The initial setup was quite time-consuming, and the test system wasn't quite usable to be able to test properly. There were a lot of things Sage Intacct didn't tell us about setup, which caused a lot of problems which we are still having to fix two years later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct solves cloud-based system challenges with consolidated functionality. I like how supplier consolidation highlights duplicate invoices and enhances security by restricting bank changes to admin users.
Great for Accounting, but Report Writing Could Be Smoother
What do you like best about the product?
It’s really great software to use for accounting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Writing reports is the part I like the least.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tasks like month-end closing, invoicing, and reconciliation can take too long when done by hand. Sage Intacct automates these processes, speeding up closes and reducing errors.
Intuitive and Flexible, Though Some Processes Feel Too Complicated
What do you like best about the product?
It is intuitive. Easy to use and has great storage capabilities. I like that you can open multiple windows and copy and paste between windows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some processes are too complicated. Adding a GL code through multiple modules. The budgeting module is archaic. The importing feature is cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None that affect our business directly.
Comfortable to Use, Seamless Syncing with Bill.com and Rippling
What do you like best about the product?
I'm using sage intact for over 3 years. I feel very comfortable using it. very good it is automatically syncing with bill.com and rippling platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd prefer that sage intact was automatically synced with concur as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has very complicated AR module. and sometimes it is difficult to clean the AR aging.
Solid day-to-day accounting system for real estate accounting
What do you like best about the product?
We moved from QuickBooks to Sage Intacct and the biggest improvement is how clean and structured everything feels. The layout is intuitive, and it’s easier to keep records consistent across AP, AR, cash, and GL, especially when you’re working across multiple entities/properties. I like that transactions are easier to trace (audit trail is clearer), and reporting doesn’t feel like an afterthought.
The modules we use most including AP, AR, cash management, and reporting are straightforward and generally match how an accounting team actually works day-to-day. Import tools and bank-related workflows also save time compared to what we were doing before. And being able to build customized reports (or tweak existing ones) is a big plus because real estate reporting is never “one-size-fits-all.”

What do you dislike about the product?
Some functions feel overly permission-dependent, which can slow you down. For example, with cash transfers, we’ve run into situations where you can’t edit a transfer once it’s created unless you have top-level authority, so the only practical option is to reverse and redo it. That works, but it adds extra steps and creates noise that we then need to explain internally.
Also, certain more advanced use cases aren’t as intuitive without training. Consolidations are the main one, Intacct is clearly capable, but it’s not something you can just “figure out” as a team without consistent setup and some structured guidance. Same for project budget management, it can work, but it’s not immediately obvious how to set it up in a way that’s simple for everyone to maintain. If you don’t invest in training and standard processes, different people end up using workarounds, and you lose some of the benefit of having a system like this.

As a mid-sized real estate firm, our biggest challenge is keeping accounting organized across multiple properties/entities while still closing efficiently. Sage Intacct helps us standardize how transactions are entered, coded, and reviewed, which reduces clean-up work at month-end. It’s easier to track what happened, who did it, and why, so reconciliations and review are much smoother compared to QuickBooks.
It’s also helped with visibility. We can pull consistent reports without re-building spreadsheets from scratch every time, and customized reporting makes it easier to get to property-level detail when we need it (and roll it up when we don’t). AP/AR workflows are clearer, cash activity is easier to follow, and having everything in one place improves handoffs within the team. Overall, it’s made our financial records more reliable and easier to explain, both internally and when working with external parties like lenders or auditors.

Empowers Reporting & Process
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the custom dashboards and report automation features of Sage Intacct. The report automation is great because it creates repeatable workflows, cutting down on the need for human input. This means our accounts teams don't have to generate reports every week and email them out, and we don't waste user licenses on people who only run reports. The dashboards are also a big plus as they offer quick visuals and allow for drillability without the need for endless report running.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that Sage Intacct is too Americanized. Language and accounting terms in some areas of the program are very USA-centric and not relevant to the rest of the world market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct automates slow manual reporting, enhances approvals, and supports custom workflows and multi-entity setups. Report automation cuts down on human input and resource needs. Dashboards provide quick visuals and drillability without running endless reports.
Solid, Reliable Accounting Platform
What do you like best about the product?
It is a solid, reliable accounting platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes finding something I am not already familiar with isn't always intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct is helping us move to a cloud-based application so we can remove our on-site servers that hosted our previous accounting system (Sage 300).
User-Friendly Interface with Customizable Reporting
What do you like best about the product?
I really like Sage Intacct's friendly user interface where all the options are clearly detailed. It allows me to easily modify the report view to suit my specific needs. I also appreciate the ability to modify a lot of fields within a database using an Excel file very easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, you can still add more fields to the Excel file to modify several items in once
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Sage Intacct for accounting, payroll, and managing information. The user-friendly interface, customizable reports, and the ability to modify databases with Excel make it easy to adjust workflows and handle data efficiently.
Sage Intacct’s User-Friendly Layout Makes Work Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I have found Sage Intacct to be very user friendly, especially with the layout.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found the training a little bit clunky and not relevant to what I do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I won't really know this until our system goes live but I am impressed with what I have seen so far but I am looking forward to using the system. The reports layout looks like it will be very beneficial to us as a company.
