Reporting has improved workflow speed and reduced time spent on tasks

    Reviewed on Nov 21, 2025
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Sage Intacct  is to provide customer satisfaction as we deliver software solutions. A quick example of how I use Sage Intacct  in my work is that we provide GL, General Ledger, and accounting systems to clients so that they can manage their accounts.

Reporting  would be the best option regarding my main use case for Sage Intacct.

    What is most valuable?

In my opinion, the best features Sage Intacct offers, considering my company, include various functionalities such as reporting, billings, GL, credit balance management, and everything else we can manage from Intacct.

The reporting feature in Sage Intacct is really good with the user interface because it takes only two or three steps to create any kind of report, any kind of credit history, or age analysis on any kind of batches, making it really useful for any kind of company.

Sage Intacct has positively impacted my organization; most of the clients on X3 have moved to Sage Intacct because Sage X3  was quite heavy to work on, while Sage Intacct is user-friendly.

The user-friendliness of Sage Intacct has helped my team and clients by saving customer time and our developers' and consultants' time; for instance, if a project takes 100 hours on Sage X3 , it only takes about 60 or 50 hours on Intacct, allowing us to manage it from anywhere since it is cloud-based.

    What needs improvement?

I see room for improvement in Sage Intacct, specifically regarding reporting, as it should be more versatile with the data; more add-on data would provide many more options, especially since API calls can be quite difficult.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In my experience, Sage Intacct is stable; my clients have never given me bad feedback regarding it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Sage Intacct handles growth and increased workload well, and it never crashes, which is a big plus.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for Sage Intacct is excellent, and whenever I face any issue, I find them ready to help, which is really beneficial.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Sage X3 before switching to Sage Intacct.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with Sage Intacct; time saved is really important and, for example, while booking my timesheet on X3, it was hectic, but there is no data loss with Intacct since we can start where we left off.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing depends on the quotation we signed for clients, as it always relies on the sales team.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Sage Intacct, I evaluated other options such as Sage 300 People and HR and payroll solutions.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise others considering Sage Intacct to try it first, as if they feel it will provide more reliability, they should give it a chance. My company has a business relationship with this vendor as we are a partner.

I found this interview good and have no suggestions for changes for the future; thank you. I gave this review a rating of 9.

Custom reporting and audit-ready controls have streamlined financial processes across global entities

    Reviewed on Nov 19, 2025
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Sage Intacct  serves as our main accounting system for accounts receivable, accounts payable, inter-company reconciliation, global group consolidations, and banking reconciliation for treasury reporting. We are also creating many custom reports within the system.

A specific example of how I use Sage Intacct  in my daily work is that the Accounts Payable team books AP bills by receiving invoices from vendors and booking them with approval while mapping the purchase orders as well. The AR team performs customer billing into Sage Intacct, and whenever they receive payments, they apply them to the respective invoices. Later in the month-end closing and reporting phase, the team conducts bank reconciliations along with performing other main closing entries or daily accounting transactions.

    What is most valuable?

One of the best features Sage Intacct offers is the auto-match function with bank reconciliations because some of our group companies are into collections. We have numerous bank amounts within transactions, and this auto-match feature is extremely helpful for matching hundreds of bank transactions daily within the system. Additionally, Sage Intacct has proven to be flexible and user-friendly across various domains for AP and AR, and the control points within the system ensure that our audits are conducted smoothly and effectively with minimal questions from the auditor.

Sage Intacct has positively impacted our organization by being flexible and easy to use. Everyone working on Sage Intacct has an accounting background, and they are able to use it with minimal training because of its user-friendly interface. This system has reduced our reliance on human effort through automation, such as automated revenue schedules that recognize revenue automatically once we set up a template in the sales invoice. The same applies to AP bills, where the system picks invoice attributes directly from the invoice image, making our AP bill processing smoother and enhancing quality since we can focus more on quality controls rather than postings.

Sage Intacct assists with regulatory compliance and audit requirements in our organization by being user-friendly. The system supports audit requirements well because it complies with SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports. Our accounting audits benefit from the robust system controls, backup methods, and data security, making any request for audit trails readily available. Data remains safe, and audits proceed smoothly. Additionally, the fixed-asset module and automated revenue recognition align with ASC 606, effectively easing our audit requirements.

    What needs improvement?

There are a few small things I have observed that Sage Intacct could improve, such as the ability to categorize customers or vendors, but when running aging reports, it does not allow running aging for categorized types. For instance, there are inter-company vendors and trade vendors, and the trade vendors can have sub-categories such as legal vendors, lease vendors, utility vendors, rental vendors, professional services, and audit services. When we sub-categorize these types of vendors under trade vendors, the system does not allow us to run aging exclusively for trade vendors. This is one example of a small change that could enhance the system.

I would suggest that Sage Intacct provide more content regarding integrations, specifically example videos for integrating with major players such as Salesforce . Short examples demonstrating integration processes of approximately 20 minutes would be particularly useful. On the reporting front, while Sage Intacct's reporting capabilities are good and include a paid module, any enhancements in this area would certainly add value.

I chose 8.5 as my rating for Sage Intacct because there is a good utility example from QuickBooks . In QuickBooks , when creating a vendor transaction, if you need to refund the vendor, you can track all transactions under one record. Unfortunately, in Sage Intacct, we lack this facility. There are several minor improvements that could be addressed in future updates, and while Sage Intacct is an excellent tool, it is not yet near perfection.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working here since June 2010, so it has been more than 14 years that I have worked with Sage Intacct.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sage Intacct is indeed stable, and I do not encounter any major issues or even the slightest problems with it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of Sage Intacct is commendable.

How are customer service and support?

I find that customer support from Sage Intacct could be quicker; however, our reseller has provided excellent service in this regard.

I would rate the customer support from Sage Intacct a 3 or 3.5, while I would rate our reseller's support around 7 or 8.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Prior to Sage Intacct, we used multiple accounting systems as part of our group of small and mid-sized companies, including Microsoft Great Plains, Microsoft Solomon, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Desktop, among others. We switched to Sage Intacct to provide a centralized accounting system.

    What was our ROI?

We have not maintained or created metrics related to returns on investment with Sage Intacct, such as time saved or money saved, nor have we documented how many employees we need.

What other advice do I have?

We have customized Sage Intacct for many custom reports, and we have numerous custom fields through platform services. Since we are a group of many small and mid-sized companies operating in different industries, we have a large number of highly customized reports to suit their business requirements. We have more than 150 operating entities in our Sage Intacct instance, and we have created over 100 highly customized P&L and other reports within the system. It has been really flexible for us to create many custom reports as required by management and the corporate team.

Regarding the audit controls I mentioned, we have established a delegation of authorities for vendor setups. For example, if someone creates a vendor, another team approves it. The same applies to AP bills and customer setups. We have also implemented an approval methodology based on amounts for journal entries, where a certain level of person can approve up to a specific amount, and any amount above that requires a senior person to review and approve the journal entry.

We have not evaluated in-depth how much human effort has been reduced, but we have observed that with the same or even fewer team members, various accounting teams are emphasizing more on quality and spending more time on it instead of posting. This has been really helpful, and our audits are going smoothly, leading to fewer human errors in the system.

We have successfully integrated Sage Intacct with our payment merchant, and there have been no issues with that. User access and security management in Sage Intacct is strong, with all audits conducted by Grant Thornton, and we are satisfied with how these aspects are handled. Regarding pricing, it aligns with industry standards, but due to confidentiality, I cannot disclose specific figures, though we are using a considerable number of user accounts.

Sage Intacct is deployed in our organization as a private cloud solution, with our data hosted on Sage servers.

I do not see any direct link to how Sage Intacct supports our organization's growth or expansion plans now, but Sage Intacct has proven to be an efficient tool for all group entities across different industries. It enables us to conduct accounting from a single instance, allowing us to set up an environment where numbers from various industries are synchronized to meet the required quality level for corporate dashboard reporting.

In terms of multi-entity and multi-currency operations, we are effectively using Sage Intacct for these purposes, employing a multi-currency setup and utilizing exchange rates for our consolidation and foreign exchange conversion. Everything is functioning properly, with no questions raised by auditors regarding Sage Intacct exchange rates. Sage Intacct facilitates remote work seamlessly, enabling easy collaboration within my teams as it is a web-based tool, and we have encountered minimal challenges from a system perspective.

I advise others looking into using Sage Intacct to assess their requirements carefully, including what modules they want to use. Sage Intacct is a good tool, and I believe that anyone who chooses it without extensive evaluation will not regret their decision. Additionally, Sage Intacct is suited for the service industry, and from my perspective, it is quite a versatile tool that meets various reporting needs such as AP, AR, order entry, purchasing, real estate, and construction. I rated Sage Intacct 8.5 overall.

Transforms accounting workflows through automation and seamless integration

    Reviewed on Nov 12, 2025
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Sage Intacct  is setting up the systems and configuring it for clients to use it properly for accounting.

I have set up Sage Intacct  from the beginning of company-specific setup, creating the entities and different modules such as accounts receivable and accounts payable, loading master data, and integrating Nexonia, Ramp , and Bill .com to Sage Intacct, ensuring all these applications flow together for accounting purposes.

We set up the systems and have used the O2C revenue management module and the consolidation module; however, the consolidation module lacks several features in setup, including the inability to create different sub-level entities, and it is very rigid and not customizable for adding different entities under one book, so we are trying to create multiple books. Overall, Sage Intacct lacks customization for user specifics, such as creating custom reports or custom fields, which are not very user-friendly, presenting a point of improvement.

    What is most valuable?

Sage Intacct has positively impacted my organization as we predominantly use it as the accounting software for all our clients; we onboard them by setting up their company structures and configurations, preparing everything ready for their accounting and finance analysis.

Specific outcomes show that Sage Intacct has significantly benefited our clients by organizing data in the system; previously, clients used low-level ERP  systems, but after transitioning to Sage Intacct, they gained control over GLs created and prevented duplications of vendors or customers, which has reduced confusion in financial statements and made them more organized. Additionally, it has reduced duplication of entries by accurately capturing invoice number details and has saved significant time by automatically generating P&Ls and balance sheets without the need for manual preparation.

The accuracy of accounting has improved by nearly 95%, and we save about three days of manual effort to prepare financial statements.

The best features Sage Intacct offers include the import feature and the integrations feature, with imports allowing us to load a large number of data into the system at one time, while the integration module enables us to integrate different systems and have the entries flow into Sage Intacct without any manual intervention.

The import feature has particularly saved a lot of time; for example, we had to load 10,000 journal entries at one time, and by preparing our template based on the import feature, we downloaded the template, had the data ready, and used it to automatically load the entries into Sage Intacct, especially for the revenue management module. Regarding integration, thousands of Ramp  transaction entries flow directly to Sage Intacct, posting entries without manual intervention and sometimes without even needing to reclassify because all the categories are derived automatically using the MCC codes from the bank directly.

Sage Intacct automates the revenue management module, particularly in posting revenue recognition entries like deferred revenue at month-end or other applicable frequencies; we can click a button to get entries posted for large data amounts, making this process incredibly helpful and automated.

    What needs improvement?

Sage Intacct should offer users more customizable options, particularly in sending emails to customers regarding invoices, as it currently allows only a single email selection derived from contact information, which can be limiting when bill-to and ship-to addresses differ.

User experience is generally good, although integrations are sometimes challenging; for example, I found the Rippling  integration to be particularly difficult. Some user help or support from Sage Intacct support team on Rippling  integration would have been beneficial.

I have reached out to Sage Intacct support team regarding tax calculations not happening correctly, even when the configurations appear as expected; the resolution process involved multiple back-and-forths, taking about one week on average for a solution, indicating a potential area for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for around six years but in the current company it is more than one year and eight months.

I have been using Sage Intacct for more than one and a half years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Sage Intacct handles growth and increased data volume well, demonstrating good scalability.

What other advice do I have?

New users getting started with Sage Intacct can begin with a straightforward interface.

It is easy for new users to get comfortable with Sage Intacct, but a few advanced modules require some guidance or help, especially concerning configurations.

In terms of integration with third-party applications, I find the Nexonia integration very easy and friendly, as well as Bill .com, although the integration with Ramp is somewhat manageable. However, the Rippling integration poses challenges due to inconsistencies in locations and dimensions, making it tougher.

I feel very confident in Sage Intacct's ability to safeguard financial data, ensuring both security and compliance.

Sage Intacct is not used on mobile devices.

My advice for others looking into using Sage Intacct is to be careful with configuration because once set, the system runs exactly as configured, so it is essential to choose wisely and be crystal clear about the requirements.

Overall, Sage Intacct is a very useful accounting tool, and it can scale up more to be used for large-scale industries, featuring a friendly user interface and good user experience. I would rate Sage Intacct an eight out of ten because it is an overall solution that genuinely helps customers manage their financial data, although it still has room for improvement and flexibility for users.

Improving intercompany reconciliation has reduced manual work and limited compliance support prompts adjustments

    Reviewed on Nov 07, 2025
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I used Sage Intacct for almost two years in my previous position, not in my current role.

My main use case for Sage Intacct during that time was that it served as the accounting software for our global company, while our Indian company, which I am part of, used different software. At every month end, we prepared an import file using our local accounting software and then uploaded the data into Sage Intacct, which was used under the subsidiary for global consolidation.

The process worked by downloading an import file from Sage Intacct and typically doing the mapping between the India accounting GL and the Sage Intacct global GL that we were using. Then I filled the data into a consolidated journal entry using the template and JE upload template, which I then uploaded into Sage Intacct as a single file upload.

This represents the only monthly activity we actually performed. I was not actively using Sage Intacct for day-to-day accounting since those transactions were handled in local accounting software, but on a monthly basis, we exported all data, remapped it, and uploaded it into Sage Intacct.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Sage Intacct offers, based on my experience, include reporting, which is one of the best features I appreciated, as well as a different set of mapping in terms of cost centers and different departmental lines that we actually needed.

The reporting capabilities stood out for me because we could generate required reports from Sage Intacct, including all financial statements needed for consolidation and various reconciliations with the parent company and the subsidiary. This was very helpful while uploading local accounting data into Sage Intacct, allowing us to perform reconciliation effectively.

The real-time financial reporting and dashboards are features I would definitely mention as interesting. The customization we could do on department, project, and other metrics offered a different kind of segregation, and the cloud-based accessibility is another good feature I appreciate.

Sage Intacct has positively impacted my organization by facilitating collaboration; we could handle the entire accounts for the India and US entities while getting real-time financial reporting. Additionally, because it is cloud-based software, it is accessible anytime from anywhere, which is beneficial.

Intercompany reconciliation stands out as a specific outcome I noticed; since both companies are under the same Sage Intacct account, we could perform intercompany reconciliation without manual intervention, highlighting an improvement.

    What needs improvement?

One area where Sage Intacct can be improved is user-friendliness, particularly in enhancing features in aging reports and ledger statements that typically help in obtaining customer statements. Improving these features would be beneficial, especially in complying more with Indian requirements, since Sage Intacct is not an Indian software.

I rate Sage Intacct seven or eight overall and less than five for Indian accounting because it is not compliant with Indian accounting, especially regarding taxation, withholding tax, and GST rules, which differ from what is represented in the software. The current automation for Indian taxation is not functioning properly in Sage Intacct.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    Sage Intacct is stable.

How are customer service and support?

I have not worked with customer support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Sage Intacct, we used Oracle Business Suite, which was a query-based system regarding reporting, prompting our switch to this software, which is not query-based.

    What was our ROI?

I cannot provide insights on return on investment because I am not the right person to comment on that; these subscriptions are US-based, and I am only a user who cannot assess their impact on overall investment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was handled completely by the US team, and we were not part of those arrangements.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Sage Intacct is to consider it if they need a cloud-based solution focused on better reporting. My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer. I would rate this product a seven overall.

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Sage Intacct  involves setting up customers with Sage Intacct . I primarily focus on the construction space.

Sage Intacct is an open API and can easily owrk with many different integrations,

How has it helped my organization?

Better visibility to financial reports and projects.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Sage Intacct offers include its ease of use due to the open API, and the fact that it operates with 3D accounting dimensions.

The reporting capabilities and automation and integration abilities in Sage Intacct make it easy to work with other third parties and collaborate effectively.

Sage Intacct has positively impacted my organization by making many customers more efficient and providing better visibility into project costs.

    What needs improvement?

The change order process in Sage Intacct could be smoother and easier, and I believe the ability to perform lien waivers and invoices in bulk, as well as improvements in inventory management, could enhance the system.

The use of imports in Sage Intacct could be made easier for clients.

I would like to see improvements in Sage Intacct regarding the ability to add cost codes to project contract lines and to have more flexibility with check printing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Sage Intacct for about three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    What about the implementation team?

My company has a business relationship with this vendor as we are a value-added reseller.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with Sage Intacct.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with Sage Intacct's pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that it is somewhat slow and expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Sage Intacct, my clients evaluated other options including NetSuite.

What other advice do I have?

If you are looking to use Sage Intacct, my advice is to work within the systems and understand how they work appropriately—do not try to get creative; use it as it is built. I would rate this review as a seven.
