At AWS re:Invent 2017, we announced AWS IoT Device Defender, a fully managed service that helps you secure your fleet of IoT devices. Today, we are excited to announce the general availability of AWS IoT Device Defender. You can use AWS IoT Device Defender to adhere to recommended security best practices, to continuously monitor device behavior, and to receive alerts so you know when to investigate and mitigate security issues.
AWS IoT Device Defender audits the configuration of IoT resources associated with your devices to make sure that they are not deviating from security best practices. This makes it easy to maintain and enforce secure IoT configurations, such as establishing unique device identities, using valid certificates for identification, and preventing overly permissive access. AWS IoT Device Defender also lets you monitor devices for unexpected behavior and anomalies that could be indicative of a compromised device. AWS IoT Device Defender sends out an alert so you can take action to fix any potential issues.
AWS IoT Device Defender is now available in the following AWS regions: Northern Virginia, Ohio, Oregon, Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo. To learn how to use AWS IoT Device Defender, refer to the user guide.
