AWS Managed Services Console now supports search and usage-based filtering to improve change type discovery
Today, AWS Managed Services (AMS) released a feature set of usability improvements for the AMS Console. AMS allows you to choose from a catalog of over 30 AWS services, and over a hundred different Change Types (CTs), to deploy or update resources into your AMS environment. This release allows you to use a keyword search to find CTs, and an option to filter your results by most recently or frequently used. This simplifies your ability to find what you need based on your usage.
Previously, you had to navigate through a cascading set of four drop-down menus to find what you were looking for. While this works well when you know what you are looking for, it is harder to discover new capabilities or find those that you use often. For example, if you previously wanted to create a one-tier stack, you would have to select a Category of ‘deployment’, a Sub-category of 'standard stack’, an Item called ‘high availability one-tier stack’ and an Operation of ‘create’. This would typically take you a few minutes to find what you are looking for. Now, you can search for ‘one-tier’ or ‘stack’ and you will immediately see your options. You can also filter your search results based on those that you used most recently or most frequently, so you don’t have to remember all those details. Customers who prefer the drop-down menu to find Change Types will still have access to it on the same page.
