AWS Launch Wizard now allows you to deploy SAP HANA in a scale-out architecture using Amazon EC2 x2idn and r6i instances. Customers can deploy up to 16 nodes (1 primary node and 15 secondary nodes) using these instance types.
x2idn instances are powered by 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with an all-core turbo frequency up to 3.5 GHz and deliver up to 50% higher compute price performance than comparable X1 instances. r6I instances feature an 8:1 ratio of memory to vCPU, just like R5 instances but deliver up to 15% better price performance and support up to 128 vCPUs per instance, which is 33% more than R5 instances.
AWS Launch Wizard offers a guided way of sizing, configuring, and deploying AWS resources for third party applications, such as Microsoft SQL Server Always On and HANA based SAP systems, without the need to manually identify and provision individual AWS resources.
