Announcing General Availability for Elastic Load Balancing in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region

Posted on: Nov 1, 2013

We are pleased to announce that Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) has exited beta and is now Generally Available in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region. You will no longer need to request initial access to use ELB, and you will be billed for any usage starting on November 1, 2013. For more information about ELB in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region, visit the AWS GovCloud (US) User Guide.

ELB is a cost-effective and easy to use service that improves the availability and scalability of applications running on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). ELB automatically distributes application traffic across multiple Amazon EC2 instances, and supports scaling by enabling availability through redundancy.

AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS region designed to allow U.S. government agencies and customers with regulatory needs to move more sensitive workloads into the cloud.
