You can now configure Amazon CloudWatch Events as an event source for your AWS Lambda functions using the Lambda console. CloudWatch Events delivers a near real-time stream of system events that describe changes in AWS resources. You can create CloudWatch Events rules to match incoming system events, and route these events to your Lambda functions for processing.

Previously, you needed to use the CloudWatch Events console or APIs in order to configure CloudWatch Events to invoke your Lambda functions. Now, you can easily configure CloudWatch Events as an event source using the Lambda console.

This feature is now available in all regions where Lambda is available. This includes US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), AWS GovCloud (US), South America (São Paulo), EU (Frankfurt), EU (Ireland), EU (London), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo).
