You can now use EFS File Sync to efficiently and securely sync files from on-premises or in-cloud file systems to Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) at speeds of up to 5x faster than standard Linux copy tools. Amazon EFS provides simple, scalable file storage for use with Amazon EC2 instances in the AWS Cloud.
Prior to EFS File Sync, customers that wanted to copy data from existing file storage into Amazon EFS had to choose between standard Linux copy tools that could be slow and require manual configuration, or commercial products that lack direct ingest to Amazon EFS. EFS File Sync provides a fast, simple, and affordable way to securely move data from existing on-premises or in-cloud file systems into Amazon EFS, with simple setup and management in the AWS Console.
Pricing for EFS File Sync is simple. You pay per-GB for data copied to Amazon EFS. For more information see Amazon EFS File Sync Pricing.
EFS File Sync is available in the US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and EU (Ireland) regions, with availability in the EU (Frankfurt) and Asia Pacific (Sydney) regions coming in December 2017.
