AWS Systems Manager Adds Patch Management for CentOS Linux

Posted on: Mar 29, 2018

AWS Systems Manager now allows you to select and deploy patches automatically for instances running CentOS Linux version 6.5 and higher.

Previously, you could automatically patch Linux instances running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu Server, Amazon Linux, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) through Systems Manager. Now you can also patch instances running CentOS Linux, giving you more patching options for your mixed Linux environment.

This feature is available in all AWS Regions where AWS Systems Manager is offered.

You can download the CentOS Linux agent from the Systems Manager GitHub page. For more information about AWS Systems Manager, visit our Product Page and Documentation.
