Starting today, AWS Directory Service for Microsoft Active Directory, also known as AWS Managed Microsoft AD, enables you to increase user logon performance by changing your AWS Managed Microsoft AD directory’s default site name.
You can now match your AWS Managed Microsoft AD and existing Microsoft Active Directory (AD) site names. This makes it faster for AWS Managed Microsoft AD to find and authenticate your existing AD users in your on-premises directory. This results in a better experience when users logon to AWS resources such as Amazon EC2 and Amazon RDS for SQL Server instances that you joined to your AWS Managed Microsoft AD directory.
This new feature is available in all AWS Regions where AWS Managed Microsoft AD is offered. To learn more, see How to Rename Your AWS Managed Microsoft AD Site Name.
