Amazon DynamoDB Accelerator (DAX) is now available in the US East (Ohio) Region. DAX delivers fast read performance for your Amazon DynamoDB tables at scale by enabling you to use a fully managed, highly available, in-memory cache.
Using DAX, you can improve the read performance of your DynamoDB tables by up to 10x—taking the time required for reads from milliseconds to microseconds—even at millions of requests per second. DAX manages cache invalidation and data population on your behalf. It also works with existing DynamoDB API calls so that developers can use DAX without making changes to existing application logic. You can enable DAX with just a few clicks in the AWS Management Console or by using the AWS SDK. With DAX, you pay for capacity by the hour and there are no long-term commitments.
DAX is now available in the US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), US West (N. California), South America (São Paulo), EU (Ireland), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Regions.
