With AWS Elemental MediaLive, live channels that have inputs with matching embedded timecodes now produce synchronized video segments for HLS and Smooth Streaming outputs. Used with the input redundancy feature in AWS Elemental MediaPackage, this allows a live channel to seamlessly failover across the two channel pipelines provided by MediaLive and the redundant inputs used by a MediaPackage channel. The result is a highly available, multi-AZ, live channel from a single endpoint and a better-quality viewing experience.

If the input to MediaLive does not have valid timecode, the live channel still has redundant encoding pipelines and can still use redundant inputs into MediaPackage. The channel remains highly available but without the seamless failover.

AWS Elemental MediaLive is a broadcast-grade live video processing service. It lets you create high-quality video for broadcast and streaming delivery to internet-connected devices.

AWS Elemental MediaLive is available in the US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), EU (Ireland), EU (Frankfurt), and South America (São Paulo) regions.

The service functions independently or as part of AWS Elemental Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of cloud-based workflows and offer you the capabilities you need to create, package, and deliver video. To learn more, please visit aws.amazon.com/medialive.
